- During the 2001 series of Robot Wars Extreme, there were many tournaments and special events that took place. Across the entire series, from the first to the last fight, the All Stars event was a major part of the series. 16 of the best fighting machines were pitted against each other in a string of 1 vs 1 fights, eventually crowning one robot the All Star champion.
There were 8 eliminator fights, 4 Quarter-Finals, 2 Semi-Finals and eventually the Grand Final before championing one robot the best of the best.
The 16 competitors for this tournament were;
3 Stegs To Heaven, Behemoth, Chaos 2, Diotoir, Dominator 2, Firestorm 3, Gemini, Hypno-Disc, Panic Attack, Pussycat, Razer, Stinger, Tornado, Wheely Big Cheese, Wild Thing, and X-Terminator.
Please enjoy, and please leave any suggestions for future possible videos in the comments section below. - Zábava
Tragically David Gribble died as a result of a motorcycle accident only weeks after this was filmed at the age of only 17; his father sadly passed away 4 years ago from cancer, RIP two of the best roboteers of the competition.
Nick Adams of Wild Thing also died last year.
When you see the Semi Finals of Series 6, and see Alan helping out Wild Thing, knowing of his tragedy, it really shows you what an awesome man he was, and David was such a nice man as well. They are truly missed.
This is such a shame, really sad 😢
Hope they're still making amazing machines in heaven.
I'll be honest, I think that's what Extreme 1 was about. Just the All Stars tournament.
razer is the most satisfactory to watch ^^
Magnificent how it chewed tornado, that got on the final only because house bots messed the opportunity for chaos 2
Tornado dominated Chaos 2.
Chaos 2...
What a LEGEND
I never realised how loud Stinger is when it hits the floor with that mace!
You've probably cut a whole 1.5 hours of talking from this compilation, thanks for that.
They could probably cut another hour of house robot crap and intros. I watched the first 3 contests and if they count as fights then that words has lost all meaning. Utterly boring.
Some of my favorite robots are here: X-terminator for its brutal aggression, Wild Thing for its stamina, Pussycat for its weapon, and Tornado for its pushing power.
JP: Claims Behemoth cannot be beaten
Ian Lewis: Hold my coke
It required an extremlet biased decision from the judges to do so
Hypno Disc is so dope IF it actually works
1:07:45 That was a skillful move and Chaos should of been allowed to finish off tornado because it wasn't an accident it was a purposeful dodge
FecklessDuo I really dont understand why Tornado were pushed off the wall. Although they pushed Chaos into the CPZ, Chaos then drove out, leaving tornado in there so when Deat Metal arrived, it was just Tornado in the CPZ. Surely then it was right for it to attack Tornado and not Chaod
God that was not fair on Chaos 2 at all.
@@XhoowieX I am in total agreeance. Chaos used skill here. Pure Skill
@@owenjohnson138 No. Chaos 2 didn't make it out of the CPZ. As such, it was still Chaos 2 who should have been attacked
Yeah I though the exact same, chaos 2 got out of the corner and tornado didn’t, was a brilliant bit of driving and without a doubt tornado would’ve been flipped out if it wasn’t given a hand by the ref bot, dead metal didn’t make a mistake, it went for the right robot
I like the intro :)
This was one of my favourite episodes.
To see the useless pussycat get smashed, and then the cheating tornado get crushed, was just beautiful.
Pussycat useless?
@@jdixon390 Yes, the team were good, great driving skills, and the robot itself was quite tough, but the blade was shyte didn't do much damage to anything, and it got lucky on many fights by being put in with some crap opponents.
@@DjNikGnashers tearing razer in two, destroying hypno disc and ripping parts off Velocirippa isn't exactly doing nothing
@@jdixon390 Stop talking shyte.
It didn't rip razor in two or even damage it.
Razor malfunctioned and got stuck in forward drive, pinning itself to the arena wall you pleb, so pussycat didn't even cause that to happen.
And even with a defenceless robot, all pussycat did was slightly bend Razors tail a little bit ffsk.
Muppet.
@@DjNikGnashers pussycat was well ahead of it’s time in terms of mobility, weaponry and survivability, was nothing shite about Pussycat.
Some of the selections for this were odd. Why no 101 or Spawn Again? Arguably more of an All Star at this point than Dominator 2 or Tornado. Even X-Terminator. They both out performed Diotor in Series 3 and 4 and 101 also matched them in the World Championship as Semi Finalists with a harder run in.
Even at this point, Dominator 2 well deserved to be in this.
I agree with using 101 and Spawn Again, but I do think that Dominator 2, Tornado, and X-Terminator definitely deserved positions here. I also feel as though Killertron, King B Powerworks, Napalm, Plunderbird 5, Bigger Brother, Thermidor 2, Mousetrap, and Splinter should’ve all qualified for this as well.
101 I don't know why, but spawn again, because it was scutters revenge, and then spawn of scutter who reached the required semi finals and this was spawn agains first series.
Omg!! I forgot Clarkson hosted this in the beginning 😱
Razor got so many favours in all of there fights
Steg 2 was the best of the 3 robots, never should’ve changed to 3 stegs to heaven.
I don't think Team Steg had much choice - Rob Heaseman left the team after Series 4 and took the Steg 2 chassis with him IIRC
You should do a video on every extreme 1 mayhem
I like both ideas I did have the idea to do the both Mayhem's and annihilators in one video but it would be to long . In my opinion I prefer option 1
I freakin HATE Tornado, they always seem to cheat their way through victories, just look at Series 6 Grand Final with Razer with the anti-pit device, when Razer clearly had them over the pit, and it still never counted, and with this battle with Chaos 2, and 3 Stegs getting beaten by the House robots, even though it was not even counted out. Watching Tornado lose to Razer so bad makes me feel great😀.
The biggest bullshit moment in any robot fight.
Yeah I couldn’t believe they were allowed to put on a fucking scaffolding to prevent Razer from getting close and the fact it couldn’t fit into the pit was stupid, it was clearly hanging in the pit, tornado was just a pushing machine that relied on outside advantages to win rounds, couldn’t stand watching it
Yeah, I hate them too. That's why their fight against Diotoir in Series 5 is my favourite Robot Wars battle ever.
Because I can't see it here, I'll post a line-up of the Heats televised so you can see who's fighting who.
Heat 1: Chaos 2 vs X-Terminator
Heat 2: Wheely Big Cheese vs Diotoir

Heat 4: Hypno-Disc vs Behemoth
Heat 5: Wild Thing vs Dominator 2
Heat 6: Tornado vs 3 Stegs To Heaven
Heat 7: Gemini vs Razer
Heat 8: Pussycat vs Stinger
If you want to see the further line-ups, I'll post them here in the replies, but *YE BE WARNED FOR SPOILERS AHEAD*
Quarter-Final 1: Chaos 2 vs Wheely Big Cheese
Quarter-Final 2: Firestorm 3 vs Wild Thing
Quarter-Final 3: Razer vs Behemoth
Quarter-Final 4: Pussycat vs Tornado
Semi-Final 1: Firestorm 3 vs Razer
Semi-Final 2: Tornado vs Chaos 2
All-Stars Final: Razer vs Tornado
I loved Robot wars but ive always said that it would be better if the house robots were not in there, let the contestants slug it out like in battlebots.
Razor geting the win over Behemoth was nothing but a scandal.
How?! The damage Razer put out was a lot more, controlled the match and didn’t receive much damage apart from two flips? Definitely the winner
Err no....Razor inflicted the only damage in that match and damage caused carries a greater weighting when scoring a contest.
The robots I hate are the ones that can only push don't think they should be able to win any fight when it go's to judges
Like tornado
Bermoth. Beat razor. Hands downs. Judges rigged that match
The reffing and judging and lack of counts when needed, the house bot interference when it was illegal. It all seems rigged, probably why robot wars was canceled and Battlebots is on air
Nah razer done the more damage and controller the fight more, flipping is useless if the robot has something to get them back into their wheels, the only way they can do proper damage is by flipping them out
You can't count a robot out as immobile when it's being pinned by another robot
All Stars Extreme 2 done it properly. And this is how they should’ve done it in the first series.
Nope, the extreme 2 all stars felt like just another micro tournament, this was the best robots fighting it out head to head
@@jdixon390 I was thinking if they had done the All Stars towards the end of Extreme 1, like a finale instead of spreading the fights across the series.

tibor dijkstra what?
tibor dijkstra i agree
tibor dijkstra Too bloody right
I think the “house robots” shouldn’t get involved. Teaming up on one robot is cheating.
As exciting as a pillow fight.
Then piss off and don’t watch?
Why Jews don't ride bicycles.
God I absolutely adored Razer when I was a kid, just looked amazing, dominant all the time was every kids dream toy, I remember having the toy set and arenas and I wouldn’t let anyone touch Razer, I was well and truly a Razer main, when Tornado cheated to beat them in a final one year by using a scaffolding that made it impossible for Razer to get anywhere close to Tornado and was too big for the pit I was so angry, to this day I didn’t like Tornado for that blatant cheating 😂
All pre approved weapons razors extra bit wasn't pre approved so lol razor only one who ever cheated tornado was the better prepared machine is that simple 🤣💯
Tornado in the fight against chaos 2 tho the BBC got that wrong was a chaos 2 flip that put tornado on the wall so yeah the producer's are ultimately to blame and the rules
