The GPT 4o model is also available in Perplexity. I've been using ChatGPT and Perplexity side by side for the last week, including using the GPT 4o model in both apps. Perplexity still gives vastly better sourced, more nuanced responses. I think ChatGPT is great if you want a quick answer and don't care about citing a source, but for those of us who work in research and need citations, Perplexity is so much better.

We started loosing our privacy when they put cameras in everything and they can detect how many ppl live in your home based off your wifi router. We have no privacy now.
I asked it to give me GOV website sources for the tax topics in my article and it made up fake URLs, so very delusional. When testing for sources Co-Pilot did the best job.
I’m new to all of these AI tools so a full course on prompts would be a great learning curve for me to know how to get the best out the programme 😊

Hopefully, Perplexity will gain access to GPT4 plugins. Until then, there is still a compelling case for GPT4, as the plugins, such as legal research tools, are astonishing.
Same here, many useful custom gpts. Perplexity is better at search. But does not have integrations and ability to save prompts for reuse.
Yes! Mycustom gpt's are hard to replace.
I am a real rookie at all this and your comment makes me think I need both and I don’t even know why? Someone commented Chat can save prompts. That sounds important. I’m just beginning to grasp “prompts” but if I figure out a good one I don’t want to forget it. Plus I need to do legal research on an attorney who definitely did some serious malpractice on my ass. I definitely want to get the money he stole from me back as well as having him disbarred and incarcerated, so give me one of those, as well.

Why do you think there are so many CZcams videos out there saying “better than chatgpt” “chatgpt killer” etc… Because chatgpt was the first to the market where everyone saw the capabilities of what AI can do, it was groundbreaking and everyone else is too late to the party

It does give good answers and the links. But it does not deal well with follow up question as compared with chatGPT. You have to me more specific and repeat certain words to know where you are. But still a great tool, I use it.

Can you do an in depth set up on using it solely for youtube? How to set up your profile with different examples, how to write scripts with different examples, how to utilize it by each search model with examples? There's NOTHING like that on youtube. That would pull in a huge audience that are trying to start CZcams channels. Barely ANYONE even knew about perplexity in my CZcams group. It's a way better search engine for researching topics for youtube videos.

Looks like one of the investor in the product promotion. But reality is different folks!
There will always be new AI tools from now until the end of time. I own a tech and media company and I also help with the development of AI scripting, etc. All AI really is involves the aggregation of content that all of us who are content writers like myself (and many others) have already created. In truth, AI does nothing with the human input/database. The problems we have as writers and producers out here is that the machine is often using human-created material illegally (without our permission). Yes, it saves me time, too but as a musician, writer, artist, and producer, I know we've got a LONG way to go to iron out the wrinkles. Use these tools carefully and make sure the software company whose tools you are using RESPECTS the original authors and producers that AI used during "machine learning" phases. Also, AI is inherently biased against conservative or patriotic groups and tends to sway the conclusions against these people whenever political issues are being discussed. Never let the machine has the last word. HUMAN content reigns supreme over machine input. Period!

I tried. It asked me to upload the 50 page document I wished to rework and it kept telling me it is the wrong file time. I mean, it is a Word doc. So I also did a Save As... in different or older formats. No joy. Maybe in a few weeks when they get it together better. So for now... meh...
