    I don't know how we ever got along without the front end loader. 4 wheel drive tractor with a front end loader is the best investment we ever made!

    The bucket is the the best. Saves so much work.

    One of the pro you forgot was using the front bucket loader to get your tractor unstuck !!! Yes 4 wheel drive tractors get stuck. You can use your front loader to push yourself back out of a stuck situation by curling the bucket all the way back and applying some down pressure and as you engage the reverse drive curl the bucket forward and it will push the tractor backwards!!! Takes a little cordination to reverse and curl the bucket, but hey a little practice and you are out !!! Saved my bacon so many times !!!! OOOOH and do NOT forget about the rear differential lock pedal, that is very often overlooked !!!

    Yep, been very nice if I had my CK-30 with bucket loader on the farm 60 years ago! 60 years ago, my Dad was still using mules and horses to farm with.

    We made a concrete counter weight with 3 point attachments. Just back up to it and hook up. Keeps the rear end down. You won't worry so much when less experienced family members are making a heavy pick.

    I think the one thing that would make that machine perfect is a skid steer quick attach

    A tractor with pallet fork attachment to go along with the bucket is a dream for me. Will be a while, but will get one some day. Is rare, but have seen fully hydraulic loader on Ford N-series tractors.

    I love my little 25 horse j.d. 3025. I live in a remote area just barely on grid. Every time a storm comes thru i might be out of electric, sometimes hours and worse case days at a time. One thing I'm Thankful for is my little 4x4 tractor and loader. It and of course my backup Generac generator. Their definitely back savers. Thanks Troy.

  • @HeresTheGenZFlorentineFolks.

    Thanks for all the advices man, your farm looks really good! Greetings from Florence, Tuscany! Have a good day!
    Ps. I’m gonna buy a John Deere 4 and 5R series... with a front loader thanks to u!

    Good video good info. I wish I had been more educated and seen this before buying my first tractor. I didn't know any better. Bought IH 385 without a loader. Was a good deal and it's been an awesome tractor but I found out all the things on my 20 acres that I need a loader for. So rather than buying a new tractor I found a loader for it and I'm getting it installed right now. Looking forward to using it.

    I knew when I watched this before, that one very vital is missing... that front bucket can and has saved me so many times, If I can't back up then placing the scoop part down, that means the bucket has used most all of its travel.. pushing down some and then curling the bucket backwards. The bucket is literally pushing you back as you try to back up. Don't get discouraged, raise the arms and reposition of bucket in empty bucket mode again and while there is pressure on the bucket, curk it back again. Unless things are way over your head, have patience. It will work and get rid of chain, use as much as possible the heavy straps that you see on a big flat bed truck. A good farmers wife never leave out during field time, to go shopping for friveless things, like spending a day worried when she want her hair style changed and that is a blessing for her, but not so much for us, and we have no room to talk sh*t either..

    I always preferred grading with a tractor with no bucket, providing we had a bobcat or backhoe handy on a job site. It's much nicer if you are doing a ton of box blading or pulverizing to not have a bucket on the front of your tractor, especially if you are working around a lot of trees.

    why not juice up the rear wheels or add wheel weights ? good option to having to run around with the box blade..

      No doubt! A bucket is like a ladder and an elevator combined!

  • @MrVailtown
    @MrVailtown Před 5 lety

    Yup your right, front loader/bucket add 35-50% more wear to your front end depends how it is/was used.
    Might buy a new tractor with a front end loader, but used, price would have to be good.
    A serious test n look over too.

      I like some of these old tricycle tractors with the homemade buckets! Those are death on wheels here in WV!

    You really need to invest in some forks if you are moving logs often. Not only are you risking bending the cutting edge on the bucket, you are lifting at a greater distance, reducing the lifting capacity (or higher stress on the front axle for the same weight log). Also with forks, you won't need someone to stop the log rotating.

    Here on my larger farm (1380 acres) I uses my Kabota 520 wheeled loader more than my big John Deere or my 40 horse MF.
    I have forks that attached to my bucket.

    Yep i am facing that dilemma now need a tractor but finances just isnt there for the loader and unfortunate that is what i need the worst. Money seems like the worst con of all.

    • @RedToolHouse

      No doubt. They are not cheap. Some are almost the same cost of the tractor!

    I really can’t see why you’d give reasons as you’ve mentioned and then follow with “....don’t try this at home...”. FEL is not a ladder nor a jack. You’ve got some great reasons but there are beginners watching the will think you can do all these things. And some are very dangerous.

    • @RedToolHouse
      @RedToolHouse  Před 5 lety

      I wanted to point out the uses but liability and common sense dictated I mention the danger of using it in that fashion.
