  • In this short flight video, my friend Faik Frank Yagci is flying his little balsa-and-tissue construction Limuzin (Limousine) at the Bristol County RC Club in Dartmouth, MA on a breezy, gusty day.
Limuzin is a old rubber-powered free-flight model designed and sold as a kit by Kanatlilar Model Ucak Evi in Turkey back in 1950s. Frank says that it was the rubber-powered first balsa-and-tissue model that he had built and flown. To commemorate his beloved first model airplane, Frank has decided to build it again from plans and convert it to a 3-channel electric RC airplane.
And here, I am happy to share with you the flight of this little Limuzin as a modern resurrection of a slice of the model aviation history in Turkey. What a blast from the past!

Love those classic high wing rubber balsa planes with the long nose and the long landing gear to make room for large prop. Amazing that it flew so well in that strong wind! I have built a few in the past. 👍 Nice!
