Back in the days, I ripped the pole laps from the review DVD and made them in 512x384 and 60fps, so I guess OP has done exactly the same but with upscaling/sharpening as well, which is perfect to me 🤩
It was broadcasted in 50 fps that days, that's why it looks so much better than other tv programs from that time :) The quality of this clip is not very good at all, car and graphics are looking very mushy, no good edit :)
It was glorious and 20+ years on I get a smile, strong emotional feelings, awesome memories mixed with slight sadness when I see clips like this. I was especially blessed to see Mika, Michael, David, Barrichello, Montoya and co drive at 3 aus GPs in the early 2000s. I'll never ever forget how I felt the first time hearing the sound of a screaming v10 just after getting off the tram at Albert Park.
It was crazy to see MSC start a season with last year's car (here the F2002 in 2003, F2001 in 2002 one year prior) and still hand it to the opposition. No team today would dare to do such a thing. We would call them mental. Ferrari back then was a special team with unorthodox ideas and it was magical to see such raw talent at work.
The Golden Era of Formula One. V10 Engine, Tobacco livery, Pitstop refuel, No DRS, NO ERS, Cars that aren't too big, The race is not stopped in case of rain...... These days, Formula One is nothing more than a Mario Cart.
Engine sound : insane Direction change : crazy fast The car seems nimble, and light. Very impressing to watch. You feel the work of the pilot on the edge. 2023 cars are damn fast, but they are big and heavy. They look like a fast airliner.
so imagine 2023 with V10 instead of the heavy V6 turbo hybrid. And ofcourse current slicks, aero, maybe not ground effect. The cars would be too fast, basically today's benefits with the past's benefit of ultra light nimble cars
Jep. They have changed the cars and tracks too much over the years. Now everything is so lame and artificial. I used to be a real fan of F1 but haven't watched it for over 10 years.
@till5520 Don't really agree. Make it so going off the track is slower. Little gravel trap will do the job. It is not the track, so it should not be used. Would only agree with your approach just to make it easier for officials
@@commentator3837 That's not what I meant. Look, if they simply let them drive what the track "allows" then the rules are still the same for everyone but much easier for the officials and way less painful for the fans. (Of course you should be not allowed to cut corners/chicanes in terms of shorting the lap's calculated distance, but that's way easier to track.) If drivers realize they 're overdoing it (and maybe slow down because of that as you pointed out) they'll take other lines anyway.
Hello !
I bet in the early 2000s people knew who was going to be on pole even before qualifying had begun and got bored very quickly a bit like Hamilton from 2014-2021
Track limits were grass and gravel back in the day, and these already did the job of slowing the driver down(unless it was Michael or Mika, of course).
Mostruoso se paragonato alla formula uno di oggi , che e' un circo , un baraccone. Si torni a fare sviluppo sulle piste , una gomma fino alla fine del gp . Basta soste .
Unbelievable video quality for 2003
probably re-rendered and uploaded in studio tape/editing

Just Glorious
I miss the 2000s, man.
Yep. Late 90s early 2000 cars sounded insane
Maybe it's because I wasn't born much before this but there seems something so magical about this era. Schumacher. Ferrari. V10s. Glorious

V10s era was magical! But cmon, you are young, your hero should be Max, and if he is, its completly OK. Dont look back, look forward!😊

Using last years car, & his mother died this day, makes it even more amazing
F2002 was still a great car by this point. It could have won all '03 races before it was retired and only didn't because of circunstances.
How proud she would have been, one son battling the other one for Pole Position.
That night his mother died. We miss you Michael...
The speed carried into the chicane was mind blowing 🤯🤯
This brings tears to my eyes

@@R9naldo They'd probably be having the issue CART had in 2001 where drivers were graying if not blacking out behind the wheel.
Schumacher AKA GOAT
Crazy to think it's 20 years ago. What a driver! Amazing footage

Schumi. ❤
This quali lap was on a day when his/Ralph's mother passed away...
G.O.A.T.
Legend.
V10 engine and the GOAT MICHAEL
Is just a joy to watch.
I know Hamilton has more wins, poles and X7 world champion like MS but for me MS is the best
By far
Absolute beauty i wish i was alive to see v10s
It was good times, my fav era of F1 for sure.
I was at Monza in 2002 and my ears were destroyed 😅❤
Watched every race with him as a child ❤
That V10 sound 😍🙌
God listen to that beautiful sound. The GOAT doing what he did best.
I was 10yo back then, man I remember those 0,014
Time flies
WHAT A SOUND 🔥🔥🔥🩵
fun fact: he changes the brake balance several times during one lap. Means hundrets of times during a race
60fps smooth as butter
Schumi quel pilote… Et puis les V10 🤩❤️
That sound...
This is some quality content!!!
Simply Goosebumps. No matter if it was Michael or somebody else in the grid. Those were BEASTS these days!
Turn the volume up. That sound!!!!!!!!
This is how a Formula 1 car should sound and nothing else!!!
What a sound!! 😍😍
Le V10 qui hurle à la mort! C’était quelque chose!
This sond is amazing

Nice! BTW: Today, it would mean exceeding the limit and erasing time in Varianta Alta 1:00. What a great time it was then

Suzuka turn 1 now even... all run off... used to be you'd beach it... Ask Kimi and Alonso 2012

Damn, goes off the track and still the fastest, if it wasn’t for that he probably would’ve been well over 0.5 ahead
He might have gained time from that by retaining so much speed

1:00 Car 1 (MSC) lap deleted for exceeding track limits.
track limit was only an imagination at that era
1:01 track limits😅

@@staichillo657yes, plus they had to do the 2nd qualifying with race fuel. So lighter cars had an advantage.
Hamilton 2014-2020. But yes, the early, mid 00's were pretty dull as far as competition goes.
