- In this video I attempt to answer the questions I have received after my video "Rotary Axis Upgrade". I show how I built my mounting system for it, how I line it up, and my Mach 3 settings. Thanks for watching. ↓↓↓↓Click here to show more below ↓↓↓↓

Been trying to find that method for ages - very good - have to try it now
Awesome setup for the rotary axis. Thanks for sharing. I plan on getting a rotary for my Gatton so I agree with Troy. Keep the cool vids coming.
Thanks, will do!
Thanks Dave, maybe you could do a show on rotary axis, if there is a person or 2 that would come on the show and show their setups. Very cool video.
Thanks for watching Troy. I really appreciate it.
Thanks Dave. You answered some of my questions I had about a rotary axis.
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching Roger.
This is a great video Dave, I'm fired up. I have two Lathes and would sell them once I have a unit for my Gatton CNC
Thanks for watching Jim. These things are a lot of fun and you can do so many new things with them.
Good info Dave. At some point I will have to try it with the Pi
You should! Thanks for watching Ryan.
Great
Just another thought Dave. if you normally put you 4th axis in the same place every time, I think you could give that position a work co-ordinance number. Such as G59. One that isn't used often. Then just MDI a G0 G90 G59 X0 Y0, and you are all set. Your thoughts.
Exactly what I wanted to say.
Looks like an easy setup Dave. But it seems that you could put a Molex connector at each of the two connection points and just move from one to the other by just unplugging and plugging into the other application. Or even use an A B switch box. Just a thought. Looks like fun. I want to do a rotary axis as well after I finish my build.
Всем Американцем здоровия! Хорошее видео. Спасибо.
Dave I have the same rotary attachment, would you mind sharing your plans of your wooden attachment hole gaps etc,
hey Dave
I'm hoping you have some insite on UCcnc i was hoping to loose it and go back to Mach3
but the ethernet board I purchased for mach3 has an issue with the Z Axis and will not run.
waiting on replacement.
now. i am hoping you know how to setup UCcnc for the rotary.
can seem to get the model to completely go full circle, thinking Im in MM not Deg.wilkl try your formular for steps and hope .
if you can help polease let me know
regards
Auto zero question... Do you have to have a separate script for auto zero when using this profile? If so, do you have to change the script each time you go from normal cnc to 4th axis cnc?
Great question Ron. The auto zero script is not saved with the machine profile but rather a part of the Mach 3 program so I have to either edit the script or replace it altogether when using the rotary axis. Thanks for watching.
What controller are you using?
I'm using one I put together myself based around DM542 drivers and a UC100 USB motion controller.
Sir I thank you I have a big request I want to put together what I need in order to have my machine able to do the Rotary I would need dm542 I would need that uc100 I have the machine in the motors and the wires in other words I have a working machine but grbl
I also purchased the same rotary attachment you have what else will I need
