The 629 PC’s impressive muzzle. Even though revolvers generally have sharp edges, this particular one doesn't, making it more comfortable to use.
The 629 Smith & Wesson model has a double and single action trigger system. The cylinder features 6 chambers.
We tested this revolver with Geco’s .44 Magnum load.

What grain and bullets were used being shot in this .44 Magnum performance center.
I have a 3" & hot specials is the way to go

Arco Cola It's a disease. I just picked this beast up the other day. It's just clean and can handle stout ammo, I wouldn't shoot Buffalo bore out of it all day but you can shoot some at a session and not have to ice your wrist, it's not uncontrollable. N frame weight is there to help. The performance center trigger is very clean.

Just go with a lighter bullet...the 240 gr. have some wicked snap but if you get a 200gr. or even a 180gr. its noticeably softer and you can have some great velocity.

I can't speak for the narrator, but loaded with .44 specials using a good bullet it would make an excellent home defense weapon. But you most definitely would not want it loaded with Magnums.
Too loud is just 1 reason I wouldn't want to touch off a 44 mag. in the confines of my house. The ability to shoot 44 specials makes the need for Magnums unnecessary inside the home.
This makes an excellent home defense weapon provided you dual wield and use magnum loads. The only thing that would improve upon this platform would be the addition of an under barrel grenade launcher.

I would have bought a dozen smiths by now! Myself and at least a million other people! If they had not gone for mandatory key locks. With shareholders running the company they are loosing a huge market share! Colt however is about to release their Cobra carry with no ke lock!! Take a back seat Smith& Wesson!!

It's a good looking gun, but the only reason to carry this for someone my size would be while camping for protection from medium/ large dangerous animals. Under those circumstances there probably wouldn't be time to don a special leather shooting glove to handle the recoil, so it would be interesting to see someone try to shoot this one handed to mimic duress conditions. Why would anyone want to carry something in an urban environment that's going to give everyone within a few feet permanent hearing damage if it's used?
i bet the ammo for this gun is way to high thats why i own a 9mm thats just as lethal at a much affordable price to shoot and holds a lot more rounds my thought
why would you want a 44 in 2.5 inch good luck hitting anything more than 10 yards, need a 6 inch get full power, what I say , 357, yes

@@Richardjohnson6969 Yeah conceal carrying a 6 in would be a challenge. Four inch would probably be the longest for more easily conceal. I am looking into purchasing this one, but I wish the barrel was a little longer. Maybe 3.2, At least 3 inches. If not this one looking to purchase the S&W 69 Combat Magnum 44 Mag 2.75 in. Barrel 5 Rds Again this barrel is only 2.7in. I already have the S&W 686 Plus Performance Center 357 Mag 5 in. A little too big to conceal carry.
