#627 #performancecenter #smith&wesson #concealedcarry #tactical best carry gun, best revolver 2023, 627 performance center review, 627 .357 magnum review, best concealed carry gun
A friend of mine has one of these. I was pleasantly surprised when I first shot it thinking the wood grips were gonna bit, it did not at all. Now I really want one.
True Detective Marty's gun
I strongly doubt that 6 shots of 357 magnum properly placed wouldn’t solve most problems, but 8 shots may be more comforting to some.
1 properly placed shot would do it.
Unless there were 3-4 perps then 8 might actually not be enough
@@lh8372if you're in a situation with 3-4 perps, for starters you probably have either poor situational awareness or poor decision making skills. Secondly, even in this scenario, 2 shots in each chest should easily end the fight. You wouldn't have time to make more shots than that anyway.
@@schm147ah yes just like John wick in the heat of an armed attack fearing for your life just perfectly place 6 shots in 3 different people easy peezy
I just Love a 6 inch barrel. And I carry one. Don’t let anybody tell you a six inch barrel is too big to carry
I like it. The heavy frame will make it much easier to shot than my S&W mod 60 357 Mag
I know the 327 Magnum is not that popular BUT in this cylinder you could get 9 shots vs 8 shots of 357 Mag & if the cylinder was increased in diameter just about 1/10'' of an inch more it would most likely be capable of 10 shots. 327 Mag does very well in short barrels but again S&W is very unlikely to chamber another revolver in 327 Mag as the one they did introduce didn't stay in the catalog very long
Great review. Thanks for posting it.
❤Nice revo .Cool:)
Wished I got a hold of this when it first came out..
not to be picky. but thank u for your honesty. when you pointed out the trigger guard being right up against the middle finger did it for me. I actually pay attention. thank you sir. my 686 deluxe has only one issue. a really thin trigger. like an old single action western gun. Hate it. wished it had a wide trigger. Yes i know im a puss. but when i hit the range i need what i need. And if i cant do it in practice i cant do it in a carry situation. just my stupid 2 cents. Thank you again.
Love the review. Could you do one for Model 60 pro series for carry purposes?
Mine had a 11-12lb trigger pull, so I had it backed down to about 8.5 (double action.)
Had to replace the grips - needed something much larger.
Have an IWB holster. It's bulky and heavy. Can carry in the winter, but not in the summer.
Que hermoso es el S&W 627
If your entire basis for liking or owning a revolver is compactness for concealed carrying, then the N frame 627 here isn't going to be your pick. I would think of this more as a home defense piece, camping or range gun more than carry. In the winter with a lot of outer wear this would work but in the summer, yeah, this 627 is just going to be bulky. Generally, people reviewing these seem to like them a lot.
PS - "Everything you need and nothing you don't"(?) I think most would say strongly it doesn't need the lock.
First saw this 627 in the 2002 Eastwood film "Blood Work", where is was prominently featured in the story line. Just had to have one ! 🚓
I have been looking at the PERFORMANCE CENTER® MODEL 327. This model has the same 8-shot capacity, a shorter 2-inch barrel, and the Scandium Frame (lighter weight). The grips are longer, too, though I figure it'll be a knuckle biter with full-power loads. My 629 with 2.5-inch barrel doesn't bite me as much as my old Ruger Super Blackhawk. I've been looking at after-market grips.
I'm looking at the same Scandium frame, but am now leaning toward this SS option; even though an N frame and SS, it is no heavier than my trusty 4" 686 plus I get the two extra rounds, and - of course - that Performance Center trigger action. The factor pushing me in this direction is the slightly longer barrel length; I've seen published data showing that with .357 magnum ammo, you get about a 15-20% increase in muzzle velocity going from a 2" barrel to a 3" barrel (I know, the SS 627 is not quite 3"... more like 2.65" but there will still be some ballistics improvement... Anyway, that's my thought process.
You can buy the smith and Wesson 327 over the phone by calling Nagels gun shop in Sanantonio Texas and they will ship it to you to your local firearms dealer the 327 is an unbelievable fantastic gun it definitely gets the job done
Have you tried installing some larger grips, and how did you like it that way? Thanks
How does that Kimber compare to something like a P365 size wise? It looks pretty tiny.
Me gustaria mucho tener un revolver igualito a este s&w 627 de 8 tiros para tenerlo de coleccion
Pricey
What is the DA trigger pull on this gun❓What loads have you shot thru it ❓
🙂👍
I have one I put old school classic grips on it
Does that improve the clearance between your first finger and the trigger guard?
How well does it shoot without the moon clips?
It hiccups every few cylinders. It tends to misfire every 16-24 rounds because of the gap where the moon clip is supposed to be
@@christophergleason5478 thank you!!
Such a nice gun. But im not paying $1400 for it.
So don't?
Prices came down 1200 on gunbroker 10 years ago they were 900 and relative to python 1499 msrp street price 1300 competative I think the 627 is superior to the python and I own both
@tannernolte3835 u mad
Maybe change the grips.

13:22. With large fingers and hands, how is that NOT ALSO a problem when using a smaller gun, such as the j-frame or k-frame?? And why isn't the problem at least somewhat solved by buying a different grip?
Interference between knuckle and trigger guard is not uncommon for me, and it's almost always solved with a grip swap.
open carry
Too heavy. I like .357 magnum, but I carry a Taurus 856 UL in .38 special. I won't mourn it being taken into evidence for the necessity of social work.
That's why whenever I purchase a firearm I like, I buy 2 of the same model. One that'll probably get confiscated, and I'll stash another for when I'm released from police custody. That way I'm still armed. Problem solved 🤷
Just change the grip 🤦
To large to conceal
open carry
Smith and Wesson are too expensive.
That cylinder looks a little thin for 357. No thanks
Definitely not as robust as the Ruger Redhawk models
It's an "N" frame. Made for .357 mag. One of the best revolvers made anywhere. 🤔
It would be better if it was made out of plastic 🤔
I don't think you have to worry. Modern alloys are insanely strong.
