Resetting the "Oil Change Required" dash light in a 2017 Ford Escape is not obvious. Here's how!

- In this video I will show you how to reset the "Oil Change Required" dash indicator. Unlike other vehicles, resetting it is not a dash function.

Very helpful and easy to understand your explanation 🙏🏾 it took me 1 minute to do it after I watched your video.
Thank you!!! It’s been making me crazy! 😊
Thank you so much Scott. It worked for me. After several attempts trying all manner of things until I stumbled on your video. Good job and welldone!

Thank you!!
I have the Escape 2017 and I want to change the setting back to default after an oil change but I don’t have that option of oil reset in my menu. All I have in mine are alarm, auto engine off, Compass, chimes, lighting, and wipers. I don’t have anything about the oil reset. I could upload a video to show you but I am totally mystified.
This did not work for me, here are the instructions that worked for my 2018 escape:. Using the information display controls on the steering wheel, scroll to 'Settings' and press the right arrow button.
Scroll to 'Vehicle' and press the right arrow button.
Scroll to 'Oil Life' and press the right arrow button.
Press and hold the OK button until a 'Reset Successful' message appears.
Boom! Thanks
As thick as the instruction manual is, you'd think that would be included. Or all the money I paid to have the oil change, the shop should have done it. Thank you.
What if the vehicle really need the oil change ???
Then you change the oil. But changing the oil doesn't make the message go away.
Not working for mine 😩
Doesn’t work for me either. I need to take mine to Ford to have them reset the maintenance system light.
I had to come back to say, this worked for me. I think there’s an issue with my key fob as I tried my back up key and this worked.
It’s also in the menu, labeled “oil life reset”. At least on every one of them that I’ve ever done it on…
My 2017 doesn't have this in the menu.
