Reset The "oil Change Required" Light On Your 2015 Ford Escape

Brian Eslick from How to Automotive www.howtoautomotive.com takes you step-by-step through the process of resetting oil change required light on a 2015 Ford Escape.
1. Without starting the engine, place the ignition in Run.
2. Simultaneously apply the accelerator and brake pedals and hold them in the fully applied position.
3. After 3 seconds, the message center displays SERVICE:OIL RESET IN PROG.
4. Continue to apply both the accelerator and brake pedals.
5. SERVICE: OIL RESET IN PROG message disappears after 25 seconds and the SERVICE: OIL RESET COMPLETE is displayed.
6. Release both accelerator and brake pedals.
7. Place the ignition in OFF.
8. The oil life reset procedure is complete.

If anyone is having trouble make sure you dont start the engine first. Only put it in ACC mode(half turn of a key/single push with no pedal press if you have remote start). Then immediately press both pedals down. It will take 30 seconds and then say complete

Just learned something new about my used Ford Escape. But how do you figure out what the code is for the keypad if you bought it used and the card didn't come with it. And without ripping the dash apart or paying $$$ to a dealer?

I was able to get my phone up behind the glove compartment to snap a few photos. After a dozen or so, I found one that had caught the DEFAULT CODE on a sticker back in there. Getting IN was tight, but getting OUT damn near ripped me to shreds.

you start the car without pressing the brake, and it turns the battery on without starting the engine. then you press both pedals
