- A quick video tutorial on how to reset the oil life on a 2013 - 2019 Ford Escape. After Changing the oil, the oil life needs to be reset back to 100% in order to accurately calculate you next oil change.
Resetting the Oil Life Monitoring System On A Ford Escape:
Reset the oil life monitoring only after an oil change.
1. Turn the ignition key to the on position.
2. Press both the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time.
3. Keep both pedals fully pressed.
4. After three seconds, the Service: Oil reset in prog. message will be displayed.
5. After 25 seconds, the Service: Oil reset complete message will be displayed.
6. Release both the accelerator and brake pedals.
7. The Service: Oil reset complete message will no longer be displayed.

Didn’t work on my 2013 escape
I asked the guy did you reset the oil light? 🎉 Oh yea it would have said it when your car was restarted..when i got home sure enough the light was on.. I just didn't want to go back to the place if I could do it myself..thank you

Worked perfectly on my 2018, but I got no "Reset in progress" message. After 20 seconds it just zeroed out the oil light message.
Resetting the Oil Life Monitoring System
Only reset the oil life monitoring system after changing the engine oil and oil filter.
To reset the oil life monitoring system do the following:Switch the ignition on. Do not start the engine.Fully press the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time.Keep the accelerator and brake pedals fully pressed.After three seconds, a message displays confirming the reset procedure is in progress.After 25 seconds, a message displays confirming the reset procedure is complete.Release the accelerator and brake pedals.Switch the ignition off.
