Hi. I was able to reset the oil life by holding down the gas and brake as described. BUT, now my display does not work. I can not get it to show the speed. It just shows the AWD and the settings menu. Any ideas?
I am not positive but if you put the car into accessory mode ( tap the start button without your foot on the break) and then go through the process as shown in the video
THE HOME AUTO SHOP thanks, I think I’ll just wait until the change oil light comes on. I can’t find where it tells you oil life left but the dealer changed the oil and I was going by their sticker and that’s always early.
@@holieocorneiousgerhart6174 you can change it earlier but I am not aware of a way to reset the reminder early ( without using a scan tool ) so it may come on randomly in witch case you could reset it at that time. Personally I change my oil every 5000 miles so I just have to keep track myself and don't really pay attention to when the light comes on.
There is no way that I know of unless you plug it into a computer. I would definitely recommend to change the oil every 5000 miles regardless of the light on the dashboard

Is this a false alert or an actual issue with the car? I have the same year car and I am seeing this alert first time after 6 years of having this car.
It's just a reminder light that tells you when to change your oil but if it wasn't reset when the oil was changed it may pop up before any service is needed
Unsure if what to do ?? I've recently had an oil change and the attendant couldn't reset my oil, he thinks it might be electrical .He tried and I tried. I've even called Ford company... they are basically telling me to do what you did. It still isn't reset.
Oh darn that stinks. You can try it some more or take it to ford and they should do it ( most likely free of charge ). I’ve never heard of one being stuck on permanently but I guess it can happen

my oil light flickers on and off. It comes on when I go down inclines too. Would this reset that too or do you think I need a new sensor?

No that should be on a timer to tell you when to change the oil

This one works for my car. I think I have an older firmware. There is no menu option to reset it.
