- Bob Seger's "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" Is A Mono Recording From 1968-1969. Capitol Records Later Released A Simulated Stereo Version....But I Never Thought It Sounded Very Good. The Engineers Basically Turned Down All The High End On One Channel To Make The Song Sound "Like Something Special Was Going On". Today, I'd Like You To Give A Listen To My "Simulated Stereo" Version Of This Classic Song. Although My Attempt Isn't Perfect, I Do Think It's Better Balanced And Delivers A Lot More Punch. Hear it on internet radio kvkvi.com
- Hudba
Fifty years later people, half a century, and this music still holds up.
Our Music Lives!!!!🎵🎶👍😎
Man these kids got JACK worthwhile nowadays 😄
Shore does!
This is my favorite Seger song.
Love the swirly orange and yellow capitol label. Brings back memories of my childhood.
Tomkat 56 Beatles 45’s from Capital.
One of the last one before switching to the bullseye label
acid trip
And the Beatles!
When this is played, it's hard to keep from moving, whether you're standing or sitting.

@@rubystaralways59 good fuse ball music
This is so good with Glenn Fry singing backup. So good.
Yes our generation had the best music give me. 60s and 70s any day
Unfortunately, I didn't hear this song on the radio until 1989; 20 years later. Now I love this song.
I didn't hear this song till 2019. 50 years late
Born and raised with this station.,..old school AM...
me too
One of favorite Bob Seger hits
We love you Music Mike✌️😎🥳
Thank you!
With Glenn Frey singing vocals and me singing backup. CKLW lives forever.
Well that was a nice piece of trivia, Thank you Penny. After learning this, I listened more intently to your back up vocals. You sounded great babe. Great job.
LMFAO......
Cool...The Magic of Radio Lives..also CKLW and XERB....Best Radio DX Ever!!!
I'm still loving your music in 2021! Greetings from Stow, Ohio to a fellow Buckeye.
Stow, Ohio. Great town. Glad to have you tuned in.
Youngstown Ohio
Loved this record. Even though I lived in upstate NY, I could always get station CKLW on my little transistor radio. Loved that station!!!! Bob Seger, you rock!
you rock!
CKLW was a power house station back then.
@@dancamp5832 Yes it was! To pick up this station in upstate NY so long ago and the music they played was AWESOME!
Man, this is great stuff!!! I grew up literally in the shadows of Motown in NW Ohio, and CKLW The Big 8 was locked on my AM radio dial!!!! The best of that area's rock and Motown, in the 60's and 70's. Ahhh, it was a fine youth!!!
I'm in NW ohio also.
Saw him live in the 80's.He did this song.He was fantastic in concert.
You can clearly hear a very young Glenn Frey front and center on the backup vocals, especially on the first chorus. Glenn also played rhythm guitar on the basic track.
+jimsradiomusic RIP
jimsradiomusic That's why I came here..... to hear Glenn today 💕
I grew up in Segers area Detroit. We had a music store and sold instruments to bob, Ted nuge, GFR etc,,, Detroit was really hopping in the 60's.
Bob Seger is the man!!!
Was never a big Seger fan, but this brings back good memories.
That consistent and driving percussion is what does it for me.
I was born in June of 69' but love 60s and 70s pop music 🎵!!
You can have your FUNKY WORLD,see you round!!!!!!!!!
what a killer tune-and it's an oddity no guitar-just organ bass and drums..
I wore this 45 out ...
+Laura G as you should have...
Laura G I used to own this 45 as well.
Music Mike I grew up on the Motown sound from CKLW Windsor...you are the man!
Great hollow drum sound at the start a defiant rock-and-roller screaming at the world
You can keep your funky world
have...not keep
It's nuts this tune made it up to only #17!
This is a kick a- song that never quits.
CKLW on 800khz received in Elsnore California at night!!!?...the magic of Radio lives!!!
The male voice that comes up "too high" on the first line of the chorus is none other than...Glen Frey. They didn't sweat the little stuff back then. He was also the guitar player.
Hard to believe Bob would switch to singing country music in his golden years.
luv music mike
CKLW wow that brings me back. Used to listen to it at night in NY.....
One of the great 50,000 W rock'n roll channels from the 60s and 70s. Bob Seger even wrote a song about the female program director, thin Lizzy had a hit song with it. For people who may not know, it was in Windsor Canada , one of the great supporters oh Detroit rock'n roll, and all the great music coming out of Michigan , in the rest of the world.
mike67006700 . Bob was always big regional star. Took the rest of us a little longer to catch up (Live Bullet)
I love this song
thank you q for showing this to this to rest of the world...
sounds great!!!
You rock Mike...thanks for the fantastic vids!
Glad you like them! Check out my internet radio station, too! Go to kvkvi.com
Gotta keep movin', never gonna slow downYou can have your funky world, see you 'round........
MusicMike, HE ROCKS!!!
i didn,t realize seger was recording this early, and i thought i knew a bit about music . haha great tune sounded true .
at the start of the first chorus, that's bob's good friend Glen Frye singing over him. Seger is a perfectionist, but left it in, RIP glen....
Thanks for uploading this classic, Mike. A great song from Silver Bullet Bob. It brought back memories. I used to own the 45.👍🏿
This is not SilverBullet, but the Bob Seger System. I Believe that the System had Many Great Grooves
Good sound here.....always have loved early Seger, his early work is fantastic & doesn't get it's due. The "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" album is probably my favorite of his.......
+jeffthrow6892 Its my favorite also. I disagree with Kathie Matthews that his music got better with time.
+libertarianation1 ---Uhh......who's Kathie Matthews???
Hi Mike, just a little trivia. In one of the first lines he says : Going down to the "Riverside" to do some gambling. We have a Casino here in Seattle called " The Riverside" used to be a famous Western Lounge and dance hall. Now just a Casino. Thanks again for the great work. ✌😊
Thanks for the info!
Classic
A timeless classic.
Wow, this sounds great, man! Good job!
Thank you. Stay tuned.....soon I will be launching "Flashback Favorites Radio"...a new internet radio station featuring all the great music you hear on my CZcams channel plus more!
MusicMike's "Flashback Favorites" That sounds great, I'll tune in once it's up. Thank you for sharing these great classics!
MusicMike's "Flashback Favorites" did you launch it already? I'm eager to listen from the Netherlands!
Yes. Online now at kvkvi.com Thanks!
Outstanding.! Thanks
cklw late at night in my room cranked up
Love it !!!!!!! The sim stereo sounds great !!!
Music Mike you have a great sound and would have been a perfect fit on CKLW in the late 60s with all their great DJs and sounds.. The hits just keep on coming from Music Mike. Thanks
Thank you very much. That was my "dream" station....but I never had enough confidence at that time to audition for a job. Oh, if I knew then what I know now......which is the case for most things in life.
Love your videos and songs man. Keep it up
very good song I love it
THIS FINE. SONG AND A COLD BEER !WHAT ELSE DO I. NEED ? !
Ty music mike!!!!
Rockin' Robert!
Oh yeah...
Enjoyed!
Didn't know this til I saw the Eagles Rockumentary recently.Glen Frey sings backup on this!
Although I often say that nothing delivers more punch than a good mono-mix, this one comes very close. On top of that it makes the background singers and keyboards sound more spacious and... erm... Man, this is ACE!!! BRILL!!! I like it. NO, I love it!
The grove is solid. It just has it !
+Domenick Nicholas - groove.
Mike, you da man!
kool...
Nothing like classic rock some texas hold em some horse racing an great marijuana. Btw this sounds awesome mike. Ty ty
I feel like ramblin'.
Only the hot pressed Capitol 45 of this classic sounded right. The fake stereo watered down the punch. Thanks for the stereo and a fine, clear sound on the best available vinyl of his breakthrough song.
I agree. The best sounding version is the mono 45 single. This simulated stereo creation still retains some of the punch.
@@MusicMikeFlashbackFavorites ...and it sounded great on tube amps too! Just sayin'!
Great early Seger tune. I really enjoy you channel and mixes. Keep up the good work. (Any chance of a remix of East Side Story or Persecution Smith in simulated stereo?) Thank you, Mike.
Cklw? I used to listen to that when I was a kid in Detroit..
Love this song!!! Disappointed though; I bought two of Bob's greatest hits and this song was not on either of them (it certainly should have been).
Ahh...the warm sound of vinyl!! Number 17? is that some kind of joke?
+libertarianation1 No joke. The song was a pretty big hit here in the states back in late 68.
I meant it should have been higher....
This is the problem Joe. In my opinion the song would go unheard nowadays. There's little good music out there today that you don't have to really seek out yourself. Good music isn't on major labels and it's not promoted. We're only lucky that the most awesome 60s and 70s exist and back then a great tune like this could make it to 17 on the charts because it was on the radio, promoted, and people liked it for good reason. In this day and age we're lucky if a song even half as good as Ramblin makes it on the radio. Anyone else dig all the albums Seger made after this one.....that never even sold back then?? Mongrel and Back In 72 are such great albums but the latter has never even had an official CD release. And you can't get even a vinyl copy for under $50. My dad saw Seger in a bar in Detriot circa 1971 playing for a crowd of 200. He said it was the best show he ever saw. To me, THIS is his best classic period.
Music Mike, come back ! The music should be saved !
Mr Seger is way overdue for a complete retrospective. Both greatest hits sets and the double disc "ultimate" collection fall very short.
I feel this is inspired by Mitch Ryder & Detroit wheels. Has that same feeling.
Dam I miss A.M. radio
why
I didn't associate this song with Bob Seger until now. I had thought he didn't have any big hits until the late 1970's.
NOTHING on the charts today comes close.
Neat
great driving song I can't drive 55
there he is M .Mike
music mike
flash back mike
It's not bad. However, there's something soothing about mono sound. On older songs in particular.
This song is all bout me then an now...yeah!!!!
You've had the CKLW jingle on some other videos you have produced. Did you work there once?
No.....only in my dreams.
"I wanna tell myself c'mon"
weres your mask music mike
good tune
I am socially distant, alone, in the Music Mike record vault :)
Where did you get that cool lamp Mike?
At a yard sale. Yeah baby!
Way better than the duophonic version!
How did you make the simulated stereo?
There are varies programs out there that will give you a "stereo" effect from a mono recording. Google and you shall find.
cklw#1
i wanna here the stereo version
There isn't a true stereo version.
Liked all his albums , they were never alike.
I am hearing a little bit of Mick Jagger goin on!
This sounds so much like a Stones song?
Future Eagle Glenn Frey sang on this song.
Mike is better than KCPX and American Top 40 and rip Kasey.
