    I carry a combat commander all steel, zero issues. I always preferred commander size over government.

    I agree. My carry is a Ruger. It comes with a titanium feed ramp. I have never had a failures of any kind. with a sturdy leather holster and a good gun belt you don't even know it's there.

      That's right. Now send it back to Ruger for upgrades like Magwell night sights and front checkering so you can keep your life time warranty

    I use and carry the same one. I used to have similar failure to feeds with either the stock or Wilson combat mags. Once I cleaned it and oiled it real nice, not a hiccup since. I thoroughly love this gun.

    Had this exact pistol, but in 9mm. It was the best shooting pistol I had……had. I got a wild hair and traded it in for a Kimber KDS9C. Worst trade off ever. The Kimber was absolutely horrible and their customer service was even worse. Kept it 1.5 months and gave it back. Looking. To get a Ronin in 10mm. Is a beautiful gun.

      Glad you enjoy them, I really like making them. Thanks for the sub, as well. The ear pro are Peltor H6B/V. I bought them in the early 90s, don't know if they are still available. Love 'em: light and fit around lots of head gear. Cheers.

    I have this same gun. Great shooter. Only issue is a few failure to feeds with Chip McCormick 10 rounders on the last round. I have lots of Wilson Combat mags, no problems. A few Mec-Gar mags, no problems. A few Colt mags, no problems. I had those same exact ear protectors back in the 80’s. I think I still have them in a box in my attic!! 😂

    If the Dead Trigger didn't move, I'd guess a failure to fully depress the grip safety. Maybe hard to notice with gloves on.

      @locacarnivore900  Před 22 dny +1

      Looked into all those possibilities and talked with a certified 1911 armorer. We concluded I was riding the trigger too much like a striker-fired gun. Once I corrected my trigger reset technique, the problem seems to have gone away. Thanks for watching!

  • @tchort93
    @tchort93 Před 3 měsíci

    i get that failure to feed with my gov. model. the feed ramp needs polishing i think, and the heavy slide is pushing on the end of the rounds causing the bullet to get pushed farther back in the casing, causing the edge of the shell casing to catch the feed ramp. iv ran fmj and hollow points and different brands so i know its not just the rounds i used.

  • @w4mkh
    @w4mkh Před 3 měsíci +2

    I suspect the dead trigger issue was the grip safety not disengaging while wearing gloves. But I would love to know the real reason.

    • @locacarnivore900
      @locacarnivore900  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Fired it without gloves as well. Problem seems to stop when I concentrate on trigger release and don't ride it forward for the reset. Training issue, it seems, but the jury is still out. Cheers.

    Awesome video. I have the full size Ronin in 45 acp and had the same issue. Don’t waste ammo send it back to SA, I was treated with top notch customer service and had my gun back under 3 weeks. They reamed and polished chamber, polished breech face and adjusted extractor. And your ear muffs look like mine from the 1980’s lol yes I I’m an ole 80’s guy too.

    dead trigger ? must be a grip problem with safety or so not release the trigger enough, at least mine has not any problem in over 1000 shoots, greetings

    Okay, I guess that I am into self punishment, so I continued to watch. The lack of knowledge is killing me, wow! So Federal Hi Shok, not Hydra Shok.. Come on man, learn your ammo names. You're going to carry? That is scary!! We saw your aper plate target, your grouping sucks and lose the fairy music......I thought that you were Canadian until you ripped the metric system.
