i'm suing chase as well,
I gave them every opportunity to reimburse me.
they lied, they lied to the FTC I have all the documentation. The problem is that they are not held accountable. If I stole $5k from them I would sit in prison for 10 years. Why no criminal prosecution for bankers who steal?
I feel for you. If you consider the 2008 financial crisis, not a single person was sent to prison. Obvious fraud was taking place which impacted the entire US economy negatively but no one, not a single person was held accountable.
If you haven't already watched this, there is a documentary called "The Untouchables (full documentary) | FRONTLINE" presently on CZcams which you should watch.
Because all the focus is on petty criminality. Our systems should focus on eradicating ALL crime and holding ALL criminals accountable--from the petty thief who robs a passerby to the bank executive who cyphons millions from customers and/or employees' pensions, etc.
@@lynx70123 Chase has very deep wallets and they know who to pay off.
This is clearly bank robbery, uh, by the bank. I just closed a Chase account I had just opened - glad I heard about this before I lost money.
sometimes it takes a little Talaban justice
I'm getting out of Chase as we speak. How is that they NEVER gave an explanation as to why they held these people's money? Sue them for all you can, it has to be done....for damages....and lawyer fees. I hope everyone dumps Chase.
Join a credit union!
@@carlosmendoza8312 .. I was about to say that a credit union is like a good family
Chase did it once with my account couple years ago and it was only 1k but they froze it lmao .. they made me to go to the bank and talk to them ... after that, i closed my account... I never have problem with Bank of America or Wells Fargo ... I NEVER go with chase again
probably those accounts were inactive for long period of time so they thought they could just take it or something.
I’m sure they’ll miss your 2 dollars 😂
I'm glad that they got their money back but regarding their time spent on this as well as their lawyer fees, were they compensated by Chase for this? If not, they should still sue Chase to get compensated.
And emotional distress. Then, I hope they also are awarded punitive damages.
I've finally successfully, "Chased" this evil company out of my life.
Absolutely they should continue the case to recover all costs and damages and to get an explanation from Chase.
Hi! This is Barbie White. We were not compensated by Chase for lawyer fees or "damages" done. After 4 months of unbelievable nonsense, 5 days before we had a hearing before a judge, Chase mysteriously decided to return our money. Hmm?? I wonder why? 😡
I hope they also were paid interest, equivalent to what Chase would charge for loaning out the same amount!
My wife and I went to Chase last year to open an account, and the guy on the desk said that we were supposed to make an appointment online. Since he was free, we asked if he could open the account, and he refused by saying that he was waiting for a customer. I asked for his manager, she came and said that she was leaving early that day. We waited in the parking lot and went back 20 minutes later. Both, the lazy guy and the manager were sitting on their desks doing nothing. I told my wife: let's take our money someplace else.
After seeing this, I am glad we did.
Plenty of very good online and offline banks.
I knjow they are very arrogant/Not Helpful, most of these bank employees. I wanted to cash a paycheck and had a Credit Card with Chase. It was with my company that was in the same building as Chase (a Fortune 500 company, in NYC). The bank manager was so arrogant in not wanting to help me, I just decided to close my credit card with Chase and decided never to do any business with them.
I went to Chase to open a business checking account with a large opening balance and was treated even worse than the homeless guy they coincidentally shouted out of the shade of their building as I was walking in. Never going back to Chase.
@@alancooper4368 ok, bank manager.
@@alancooper4368 I was just commenting on how a banker might view this, as in over-dramatic. I try to see things from all points of view.
Don’t ever bank with Chase again.
What you can do to help others is continue to inform the public what CHASE did to so many customers
All banks do this more often than people realize
BOYCOTT CHASE BANK!!!
NEVER put all your money in one bank!
I have a feeling the couple may have a long history with Chase Bank. Take there money out and find a good regional bank or credit union or both.
Never put your money in just 2 banks. You need at least 3 or 4 to be safe, including a credit union or 2. Weazers are stealing money legally. Plain and simple
Exactly well said these days have your money and a couple different banks. And have multiple different assets like cash, gold silver, stocks, bonds
CHARGE THE BANK INTEREST FOR WITHOLDING YOUR MONEY!! CHARGE THE INTEREST AND CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT!! 🤬😠😡😡😡😡
unfotunately the interest rate for this joke bank is .01%
@oceanbreeze1397 yet they can charge up to 29% or whatever the limit is. Insane right
Everyone should pull their money from Chase.
The fact that they never explained why/what was happening is disgraceful, so we closed our account after seeing this. I hope you continue your suit and collect a LOT in damages.
Shouldn't Chase also be required to pay their expenses (lawyers) and pain and suffering? Could they have filed a claim with the FDIC, since they were insured deposits and Chase ran off with their money?
Not to mention this is a FEDERAL ISSUE. WHY IS IT THAT 'WE THE PEOPLE HAVE NO RECOURSE??????😲🤔
Because Chase has deep pockets and will drag it out in court for years, wasting everyone's time and resources so they just get off free unfair
I would still consider sueing Chase just so they can explain to the Judge why they took the money. I believe the public has a right to know since they are publicly held company! Regardless if it is on the exchange or not, they do business with the public!!
You "sue" people are ridiculous...DO YOU THINK IT'S FREE TO SUE???????????? You're ignorant of reality...Chase is a worldwide corporation with probably a thousand or more lawyers...They can string a normal person along for decades... Smarten up.
Similar thing happened to my brother inlaw with Chase Bank. Only in his case they deposited an extra $14,000 and after 6 weeks of trying to get them to remove it (he's super honest) they Froze his account. The consequences where that all his "auto payments" like Medicare, rent, etc. bounced! IMHO Chase should be fined $100,000 per incident of this happening. Glad I've never used Chase myself.
I advice you contact KRUDCRACKS FOR HELP HE HELPED ME ALSO
Now they have ti pay attorneys. Let Chase pay for it.
This sounds like something "Wells Fargo" or "First International Bank and Trust" would do!
I will NEVER have a Chase bank account.
This is despicable!
I would still sue the crap out of them
we all need to boycott Chase now. I am closing my account. How dare them
My sister and I could use some help. Nearly 200,000.00 was stolen out of estate account from Chase and my sister and a legal assistant had let Chase know that our adopted brother had passed and to lock the account. They never did and two criminals squatting in the house wrote themselves checks as we battled for almost two years proving that a will had been forged. We won the case with the will but Chase does not want to pay us back the money that was illegally taken. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Its hard to find the correct attorney for this. Thank you
I advice you quickly Contact KRUDCRACKS for help in recovery he has been the one helping all scammed victims to put a shame on all this heartless scammers
Get to meet Mr Chris Holland he's gonna help you out
But you have to make sure that you still have the payment proofs details
You just have to make sure everything is saved and intact
I have heard enough bad things about the chase bank. Outrageous.
makes you wonder how many banks (not just Chase) have stolen their money from their customers (i say stolen but I am talking in cases where they made a mistake and won't give the money back, I am certain these banks have policy to deny all claims initially (knowing that some people either give up or forget/don't notice the missing money). I had an issue with PNC bank where I was given the wrong amount of money from the ATM machine at their bank (it was only for $200, but that isn't the point it is my money), I filed a claim and initially they denied my claim 2 times, I just ketp fighting/escalating and eventually the returned MY money.
Chase should also pay for the lawyer fees !!!
“Chase wants to give you your money back” 😂 oh really!
It’s nice that they had friends to help them out financially. This could have ruined anybody.
this would have ruined me AND stranded me. I'm currently living in the Philippines and without my savings I couldn't return home. Without access to my bank accounts, I couldn't even send myself my Social Security payment to live off of. I'm not a Chase customer (got burned by them 16 years ago) but scary how any bank can ruin a life with a flip of a switch.
They had to get a lawyer and a tv station to get this corrupt chase bank to give them their money back, unbelievable.!!
exactly why I've stayed with my credit union for the past 30 years...also for added context, behind the scenes banks and other financial institutions have been quietly battling a rapid rise in internal bank fraud and embezzlement by its own employees. They don't make it known because it's bad for business
so how did you find this out if they didn't make it known?
Chase did something similar to me when I was living in China. Had to pay all my credit cards by phone every month. Made me go into a branch in person to get it sorted out.
Chase Bank has also stolen so much money from us.. Chase in lake Charles Louisiana on Nelson road etc... we are in the process of getting an attorney..
i left chase and BOA longtime ago
Remember when the CEO of B of A said he was going to start charging their customers a withdrawal fee for using their ATM machine? When asked by the News Media why he was doing that and his answer was Because I CAN?
I had a small corporate account with my B of A bank I went to my bank and closed my corporate account, they asked WHY I told them Because I could?
Luckily they could retain an attorney. Anyone who couldn’t afford one would’ve been screwed 😢
It's always Chase Bank doing this crap - whether scammers or this. Everyone needs to get out of there. And Chase needs to taken to task legally for this kind of thing.
Hope the couple is suing Chase for inconvenience or personal hardship due to their action
Leave Chase, Wells Fargo, and B of A.
No reasons given then there's no reason to trust Chase Bank. Take your money to a good regional bank or credit union.
as the court date was approaching, CHASE knows they will lose the court battle. they will return the $50,000, PLUS lawyer fees and court fees PLUS the financial hardship these couple went through. if you know you're going to win, do not give in to their offer. NOW these couples are on the hook for lawyer fees.
I only deal with credit unions now
Unfortunately they have equal authority to pull moves like this so they're not a perfect solution. Always a chance they'll go rogue on someone.
I still think we're not getting the whole story from one or both parties. I work for a bank but have my personal account with a credit union.
Yes, Jay your right on the money. I think these outstanding citizens are involved with some illegal business practices. Like they say in Mexico . there is always two sides to a tortilla 🌮🌮🌮
I am sure some details are being left out. However if there was a legit reason why would chase provide it? The no reason makes them look very bad. I suspect it was an actual total mistake. Their name or account number was close to that of a suspicious activity and they accidentally locked the accounts. I once had my credit union post someone else’s check to our account. Caused me some head scratching and when we pulled the digital copy it was someone else’s! The poor guy at the credit union. He was almost in hysterics when I called. I had to calm him down. There was no actual damage since it was a small check they just fixed it. Accidents do happen
@@amtravelingservice4400 keep banking with these big banks and you will soon be a victim. Suing them now for for $60k as they are doing the same thing to me. You can research how many people this is happening to and you will be surprised.
@@amtravelingservice4400 BS, im in the same boat with Chase, and im completely doing business legally, account seized with no explanation.
@@jafarhon so sorry that happened , but they have to give you a explanation . Just can't leave you hanging like that. I would get a hungry lawyer who would lite a fire under their tail to make them talk.
Move to a credit union asap!
Just not Navy Federal Credit Union. They suck worse than Chase.
I would have called them and asked where my attorney fees and interest are.
Yes. I will switch from chase. How horrible.
It is not the first time Chase does this. I have heard at least 5 other stories about Chase closing accounts and refuse to give their money with no explanation. Thanks for reminding me.
That can happen with any bank. The couple should have received punitive damages = 3x the money stolen + legal fees. It's no different if a bank robber returns the money if caught. They'd still face federal felony charges.
Did they get attorney fees and a settlement for their lost time?
That's enough to piss you off. I was wondering if there was an update.
Don't drop the case. You can get compensation for all expenses that they occurred.
The bank should be REQUIRED to explain this situation.
That's the problem, no one has an explanation, it's the computers algorithm that does this. The answer is someone in IT needs to answer as well as higher ups.
How about paying the same interest rate Chase bank charges plus late return fees? Next throw the president of this bank into jail because of theft? Last but not least many depositors will not do business with any Chase bank because of theft of funds ?
Give Chase the Bud treatment. The fact that there is no Govt regulation prohibiting un warranted seizure is even worse. The fact is once you deposit money you become an unsecured creditor and the monies are reclassified as bank assets hence no accountability for seizures
Time to close down all chase banks
Good luck lmao
Not a surprise it is with this bank !
Fun fact, this doesn’t stop the lawsuit. It just changes the amount they can claim.
Chase tried to hold my brother's account after he died. They would not release the funds to the estate, would not let me open a new account to transfer and it took weeks of screaming and scenes at the bank for them to release the funds.
Chase has done this to MANY other. Leave chase. Hard to know which bank to choose. I researched hard in Az as I live here too. I chose National Bank of ARIzona a mormon bank. Mormons store of two years of food maybe they have sounder banking practices.
Anyone with bank accounts with Chase should close them immediately and open accounts with another bank that has good customer service.
Amen 🎉 Congratulations 🎉🎉
American bank Bank: We gonna take all your money.
the Law: All you can legally do is sue them, but lawyers can cost you all your money that you have NO ACCESS TO!
Great setup America, great setup, slow clap.
they should still sue and they need interest
Not just Chase, but other financial institutions set up their computers to deny access for different reasons.
Did you know that some institutions close access to your money if if the account has not had a transaction after a certain number of years?

Attorney fees and punitive damages? They got off free
i'm glad they got their money back. maybe the couple should have follow thru for punitive damages for what the bank put them through.
I would want more than just my money back. My worry, time, effort, and costs are all not free.
They should continue the suit to try and recover their expenses.
I’m so sorry to hear about this! Should’ve gotten more than the 50k as INTEREST! They love to charge and AND can afford it , so why not?!?
I find it disturbing that they were NEVER told what, if anything they did wrong.
They did this exact thing to my wife and I yesterday. They are keeping 15k but worse, I can’t pay my bills because of our frozen account. Like the lady said, how about asking for an explanation before shutting down our accounts and banning us for life.
Credit Unions are the best way to bank.
Wells Fargo has its warts but they keep good track of things and get my money back every time I file a claim. Chase wouldn't give my little paycheck the time of day. 😮😮😮 Wells Fargo hasn't even hinted of closing either.
That’s crazy that there isn’t an explanation on why they held their money.
No lost interest? Attorney fees??
I hope they didn’t get stuck with the attorney fees.
And still no explanation. Unbelievable and scary. I'm sure this happens more than we know.
$100 says they diversified their savings after this..? Never leave everything in the bank, Ever!!!
This is exactly why I have my money spread out at two different banking institutions and a federal credit union. Just imagine not having access to any of your money. Thankfully, they have friends and family that were able to help them, but we all know that not everyone has that type of support. I would have still went forward with the lawsuit for financial damages, pain and suffering (mentally), breaking FDIC & FTC laws, and etc. They let them off way too easily.
Get your money out of Chase!
frightening. no explanation? as soon as the window opens i look forward to moving on.
So still no explanation? What the heck? They should have continued the suit for punitive damages.
I've worked at bank data - customer service centers. Every single one was a DEI 'train wreck'. So much so that these centers rarely stay open for 5 years before they are dissolved and the work is moved to a newly created center elsewhere. Rinse and repeat.
They’re still out of pocket for the attorneys fees
I had heard they do that a lot and is why I got out of that bank.
Thank you for your video I will not open account with Chase Bank that is terrible service and made customer stressing; I have two accounts with bank of America and bbt sometimes I did not use it but I had no problem with them ; I had been with them over 20 years
I am closing my Chase account this week!
I only use Credit Unions. No banks!
What about the Lawyers fees, these people are still out the lawyers fees.
I wouldn't be surprised if now they had to deal with the IRS claiming that they owe capital gains tax on the money that was returned to them.
Perhaps more individuals should be pursuing the like of not just Chase Bank but other institutions for similar inappropriate actions. If institutions in this scenario had to additionally pay for punitive damages on top of the monies that were seized from their customers and some stiff fines then maybe they would rethink their position. This is happening a way too often. It is time that these institutions are made to be accountable.
I'm suprised anyone uses chase bank anymore. Report after report leaves them in a bad light.
Magic money bank Chase
Note to self: do not deposit cash to Chase.
Once they got their money back, did they sue for damages?
Yeah, it took the threat of a lawsuit plus bad publicity for them to release their money! Unbelievable! Avoid Chase like the plague! Same goes for Wells Fargo and BoA!
Keep on sueing them.
Need to get late fees and interest as well.
That is not enough. Chase needs to pay their attorney fees, too.
You should have to pay interest in Penalties days on that Money 💰
How many others did they NOT return the $ too...... even bad press took a long time to resolve this
There is a 500 page document attached to your signature card; if you read it; you'd most likely only keep a minimum in the bank...Essentially; when you deposit money in a bank; you have surrendered it to them...They can take it without reason and if any official agency asks them to freeze your accounts; they won't hesitate nor tell you...
I hope Chase paid their attorney fees and gave them interest on their hijacked account. That's what these banks are more than likely doing. Investing overseas, China and after awhile when they make their money then you get yours.
So, do we call this a Bank Robbery? Or did they come up with another name for this?
f that, get the lawyer fees too.
Chase was using the money to invest. Banks will hold customer funds and make excuses why there is a hold. They make money off yours while giving you pennies of interest. These savings and checking accounts are horrible.
Didnt people pay attention to some of the banks that were involved in the 2008 crash of the banking system? Chase was one of the players. I get solicitations from them frequently and it goes straight to the trash
It’s maddening to never get explanation…it’s easy to understand how mistakes happen but impossible to understand why it would then be handled so insanely badly and that response to apparently be deemed good enough to a company, no pride or integrity
I being petty probably would of said ok but the lawsuit is still going to happen just for a tad less now but the issue of months of borrowing, stress, and loss of interest along with attorneys fees to date still remain.
