Recipe for everyone 1cup of milk 2 large eggs (Mix to combine) 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp cloves (Mix to combine) 1 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp pure vanilla Mix Steps; Warm up a skillet with clarified butter over a low flame. Dip the toast in the mix for about 10 seconds on each side Place French toast on skillet over low flame, and let cook for about 7 & 1/2 minutes per side. All done! Hope this helped
Fun tip: ALLSPICE is a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves in one bottle! When I first restock my bulk of spices I mix me a bottle of allspice for convenience 😊
After you take the toast from the skillet put them on a baking sheet and put in the oven at 225 for 10 minutes and the custard will finish baking for less soggy french toast. try it.
Don't dip it too long in the egg milk mixture problem solved. Its why I won't eat french toast from just anyone or a restaurant because it's always gross and soggy in the middle. I dip mine quickly just enough to coat the bread not allowing it to soak in.
I just made this french toast this morning, and it was perfect! I usually only add cinnamon but the mix of nutmeg and cloves was perfect! I will be making this again! 😊
I made some using this recipe and they turned out EXCELLENT! I put mine in my air fryer for 3 minutes each side for the extra crisp and sprinkled shaved coconut and powdered sugar, turned out beautiful. Made some today and they turned out HORRIBLE. Not sure what I did wrong, but the cinnamon was cheap as well as the bread on hand, exceptionally eggy tasting too 😢 I suck, I will try again another time with some strawberries and blueberries too!
The best way to actually taste the cinnamon is by sprinkling it on the French toast after it's fully cooked. Otherwise you won't taste cinnamon at all. I also add rum extract as well as vanilla extract to the egg mixture. Using egg whites only & beating them with a blender to fluff them up will also make fluffier French toast vs the dense look you get when including the yolk. Mrs Butterworth is the best tasting pancake syrup. No, it's not organic but it's flavorful and that's what pancake/French toast syrup should be about **Flavor**
thank you so much for the 7.5 minute tip because im always like i don't want to burn this but then the egg that's soaked into the bread would still be uncooked no matter how long i cook it. maybe i should also lower the heat? i keep it on medium. also, i use honey instead of syrup!! so yummy!
Thank you for the simple instructions right to the point I'm going to use Oat Milk and I've never cooked with clove I'm going to pick up some next time I'm at the store I really hope I don't mess up the recipe I'll make more when I get the clove and see if I can tell the difference
Hell yeah. I used sourdough bread which made the toast a bit dense and not too fluffy. But the flavour was really good with the cinnamon and vanilla. Gotta try this with white bread!
woooow!! the spices are almost the same ones that my mom and i add to the christmas cookie recipe! i bet if you add ginger and put a bit more of cloves, it'll taste just like christmas❤ love thisss
I find that when I add the cinnamon and spices to the milk and eggs, it coats the first slice and there's none left. I put the spices onto the melted butter and then the bottom gets spiced and add to the top before flipping it.
I just made this and had no milk. So I used the heavy cream I had instead. By far the best decision I have made after saying yes to my husband 😂😂 Tip: go with cream for a true custard!!
Girly! Please! This is to me the “FULL, PERFECT RECIPE” I scrolled for a few mins and nothing came with measurements, ingredients or anything but the short video of how to make😒 Then i found your video! Thank you for being very exact for people like me👍🏼
I just made them how you did and they turned out so good!! I just need more practice because i havent cooked so often before (I‘m 13 but I‘m not allowed to cook at home so i do it when my parents are not at home)
It's great that you're teaching yourself how to cook. You could be doing worse thing's when your parent's aren't home.. As long as you're careful about fire safety and keep an eye on your food while it's on the stove then you're not too young to learn to cook. My oldest daughter is 17. She learned to cook when she was 7. You're never too young to learn to cook : )
@@DailyDose926 thank you for the help! Wow 7 years old she’s very young, I wished I learned it at that age, she‘s probably be a gourmet now if she continues to cook 🤣🤣
I say if you like burn bitter french toast, then this is the recipe for you! Knew 7 minutes is way too long, but tried anyway, and it's a no-go for me!
Instead of raw berries, makes a berry compote. only takes 5-10 minutes if you use a lid. Just some berries, sugar, and IDEALLY lesson juice with the zest. But vinegar will do. I like to add a cornstarch slurry to make it like ihops hot berries
I made it, but i didn't have clove, so i used the other too, and i didn't take measurements 😅😊. But i had regular bread it was not a soggy hut i felt like it wasn't fully cooked even though it was, btw i made 3. 😊
I add a little bit of coffee creamer like just a splash I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea but I watched Trisha Yearwood do it once and I have done it ever since

where do i find this powdered cloves

I can’t wait to try this. 7 mins seems like a long time. My house will be full of smoke I’m sure. Lol! Thanks
Adjust your heat
Low flame 🙂
Yeah I don’t cook it for that long, makes bread softer and generally taste better
Medium low, 4-5 minutes and you're good. Any higher with all that butter and egg and it will burn.
It’s crazy how bad people are at cooking… adjust your heat?
Fun tip: ALLSPICE is a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves in one bottle! When I first restock my bulk of spices I mix me a bottle of allspice for convenience 😊
I didn’t know that was what allspice was made up of but that makes sense. Allspice just gives things such a nostalgic taste.
