That was about a month ago and it was bad, even on land. Im around 120 miles away (in devon) from where they were.

The Fal is so lovely. A real pity that Smugglers Cottage isn't a tea shop still. Used to be the best Cornish Cream Teas in the world.
Another good river, cheaper than the Fal, is the River Lynher off the Tamar. But again dog landing options are limited.
You could always run the engine on forward tick-over to ease the strain on the anchor in extremis.

Little strange ending
Hope you survived that last one ok. I remember one occasion we were anchored in a lagoon. Another boat came along and, in my opinion, anchored too close. In the early hours there was an enormous bang. The other boat had dragged anchor and hit us. Luckily there was no damage. I jumped out of my bunk onto deck.. I was remonstrating with the people on the other boat until I realised I hadn't stopped to put any clothes on. 😮 Difficult to retain an authorative stance when you're naked and it's quite chilly on deck. Does the mad scientist on Batt Mat have a CZcams channel?
Yes, the end caught me out … had to go back to make sure I’d not missed anything, but at least things weren’t as bad as a feared from the title

We like your videos and lifestyle and want to do the same in a few years. We have been wondering about a few practical issues that you might help answering. So living full time on a boat in the UK, how do you manage address, TAX, mail, driving license and all that? Do you still need to have "a physical home" in the UK?

Guys, do you ever use two anchors? My wife and I recently started sailing and next year we’re gonna sail around the uk (very slowly) and I feel we’re going to need better anchoring knowledge. Can you recommend a book?
Its good to have two. A second kedge anchor for the stern. This is good to have for bays and rivers.
