  • Thanks to some amazing modifications we've made to our boat we can now fully enjoy some of the more remote anchorages in total comfort, where they may have previously been not so comfortable.
    Living off-grid is something we strive to get closer and closer to each year as we go out and test the off-grid systems we've installed the previous winter and then go back and make more adjustments off of the back of how we got on that year.
    This year one of the major parts of the off-grid living puzzle came into all it's glory in this stunning anchorage.

    Glad Hank picked up (drama queen!) you can be justifiably proud of how you anchored your boat and modified her to make the anchorage so much more pleasant to stay in - as the saying goes - any fool can be uncomfortable!

    Haha, we are also fans of dropping the hook and quite like to use the satellite view to choose a sandy spot! That expression on your face when you said you might have SHARE the anchorage is one we (Edd and Charly) know well too. If you wanna work together please get in touch! P.S Hope Hank feels better soon!

    Hi
    I’ve been subbed for a while but never really watched until this episode as there is only so much time in the day!
    The quality of this production is bloody excellent!!!
    I’ll be back for more now.
    Thanks for the great effort

    I was relieved to see Hank perk back up, he’s my favorite 😊. Thank you for making these videos, which are both informative and great adverts for your homeland. I’m beginning to think that we may just skip the Med for a while in favor of following in your wake.

  • @iainhunneybell
    @iainhunneybell Před 10 měsíci +1

    ‘Just’ back from 3 weeks in the Med … actually that’s already a few weeks ago and have been away on business … so WONDERFUL to see you again. A few things…
    1. Having invested in some “marriage savers” and purchased the updated models based on your suggestion, these were put to the test this year in Greece and are indeed known as: “The marriage savers” (“Shall I go and get the marriage savers?”). Amazingly, instead of being told I shout and yell like a man possessed, I was asked to speak up: “As I cannot hear you over the noice of them chain”. Humm. Even: “I now realise how much I couldn’t hear over the noise of the chain” Hummmmm. We didn’t get to: “And so I’m sorry for all the time I said you were screaming like an uncontrolled Banshee”, but a definite improvement over before. Thank you 😊
    2. Very sorry to see Hank so down. Did you ever work out why?
    3. Good to see your deployment of the kedge. Have you done ‘the bridle’ episode and I’ve missed while away? Just what I recommended to ‘the admiral’ a couple of times while away…
    4. No Air Buddy when diving. Is this good news on the BP side? Have been wondering (and worrying) about you
    5. The wood burner looks more than marvellous
    6. And the 3 weeks in Greece? They coincided with Storm Daniel, so initially high pressure and no wind at all, then biblical rain and winds to match, then biblical rain, winds and electric storms with lightening strikes to the water meters from us, and then high pressure and no wind… don’t ask!
    And of course, your production quality continues to be beyond excellent. Wonderful content, so thank you 😊

    Hank bounced back thank goodness. Maybe he ate something on his last walk? Hey if you want an easy quick way to clean your fire door glass, scrunch up some newspaper, slightly wet it, dip it into some fine ash in the fire and rub the inside of the glass. The black stuff comes straight off. 👍. Then just clean up with another wet clean price if newspaper.😊 works a treat. Thanks for another nice episode.

    About the desireability of undesirable anchorages, hear hear; I just spent a night in complete privacy in a somewhat sketchy anchorage (rocky and variable bottom) and it was great, had it all to ourselves and it was perfectly sheltered. Sure we could've been around the corner where it was "safer", but there's something special about your very own cove for the night, isn't there. :)

    I am a bit miffed with you regarding this video. At the end of the 1st 30 seconds, you say that Hank has come down with a mysterious condition. I know that I am a strict dog person because I kept asking about Hank yet you never addressed his ailment after you first mentioned it.
    Once you showed Hank running around as usual once on land I realized that whatever he was suffering from, his system worked through his issue.
    Ok, I feel better now. Thank you.

    I saw on one of your maps that you are in the vicinity of Looe. Does it have a harbor or cove? It is the only town I ever visited in Cornwall and that was over 50 years ago. I'm just wondering if I would recognize anything.

    • @CadohaAdventures
      @CadohaAdventures  Před 9 měsíci +1

      We never actually went into Looe but I believe there is a harbour which dries out or there’s space to anchor outside but we didn’t feel comfortable anchoring there so we carried on past Looe to Talland Bay.

    • @bdphourde
      @bdphourde Před 9 měsíci

      @@CadohaAdventures Thanks, Domiinic. Sometimes those harbors have a wall you can tie up to dry out against and scrape barnacles.
      I just decided to go to Google Earth and take a look. It was almost like being there. I remembered the bridge over the river and the beach on the bay, and that was all. There is a wall to lean against and dry out to clean the bottom, but I would want to check it out in person before I went in a tried it. The pilings and rock wall may be covered in barnacles. And if it's all mud, the keel would sink in. If it is hard sand with stones, then it might support you.
