2014 DFCW - Picnic - Opening Ceremony

Started in 2010, the Dan Fogelberg Celebration Weekend is an annual event held in Peoria to honor the late singer. He passed from prostate cancer in 2007 and various events are held to raise money to combat the disease. A permanent memorial of boulders, engraved with his song lyrics, is the focal point of a memorial on the river in his hometown.
Anyone who's been there knows that the trains passing by and wind are always an occurrence to be endured. This opening ceremony was no exception.
Offering their musical talents are Mary Bomar & Bob Ritter and comments are by Deb Jelinek, who co-founded of the Fogelberg Foundation of Peoria with Eric Mills and Hugh Higgins.
