2012 DFCW - "Sutter's Mill"- Peoria All Stars with Hillman & Pederson

In 2012, the Dan Fogelberg Celebration Weekend was treated to an appearance by Chris Hillman & Herb Pederson. To end the night, they were gracious enough to join the Peoria All-Stars to perform Dan's “Sutter's Mill” with Barry Cloyd singing lead and some fine solo work by Tim Harr.

I always loved High Country Snow. So many fans of Dan turned on him when he put this out. He had such talent, I can't understand why he couldn't do what every he wanted, Oh that's right He Did!! EVER ON DAN

What instrument is playing the main tone of the prelude?

Looking closer it's mandalin and guitar first I believe

Actually the center guy in back starts off playing the steel guitar. It's a guitar played flat to the ground instead acrost the body vertically

Now to speculate think the kind of steel guitar he is playing is called a resinater. The strings are plucked and a bar called a steel is placed on the strings possibly on a fretless neck
