      @Guy Brasfort it’s because people look down at working class Scottish accents. Everyone here puts on a voice when speaking in a professional setting or to people out with the city/country

    • @Celticcc07
      @Celticcc07 Před 3 lety

      @Guy Brasfort yes throughout my life in school or wherever it was they corrected any ‘slang’ words which were simply just Scots words. Also hearing my parents suddenly changing the way they speak when talking to others just reinforced this.

      I was married to a California woman and we lived in San Francisco and we went to Glasgow, where I was born to visit family, that I hadnt seen in decades, my wife could not understand a soul, I was the translator, she went back to California and I stayed behind for another two weeks, she picks me up at San Francisco Airport and as we are driving up the Freeway on the way back home, she turns to me and asked what did I do with her husband because he sounds totally unlike the guy she has been married too for years.
      I had not noticed that my thick Glasgow accent returned as I spent time with family where I grew up, in the slums of Glasgow.

It is amazing to think after this he still has 18 years of his career left and goes onto win another 11 Premier League titles, 3 FA Cups, 3 League Cups, 2 Champions Leagues from 4 Finals, 1 International Cup, 1 World Club Cup and 7 Community Shields as well as been awarded a knighthood, more than most will ever achieve in their careers, the Greatest of all time, Legend.

      @@ID-pw8zb His boyhood 'love' for Rangers was, shall we say, somewhat soured by the treatment he received for dating a Catholic whom he eventually ended up marrying (Cathy). He regarded the bigotry directed at him as " poisonous hostility".
      Fergie prior to joining Utd had done all he needed to do in Sxotland by smashing the Old Firm with the Dons. His time at Rangers was in his own words, ruined by "religious bigots" and "diseased zealots".
      That's from his book "Managing My Life" (1999). Yes, Alex Ferguson is a proud Scot and loves going back to visit Glasgow and Aberdeen, and indeed Scotland in general "it's a great country" but if you think he's pining for Rangers you may need to think about that one again, bud.
