should be doing to connect with the fans, no matter what age. Much respect to L.F.C. and Nivea
for their kindness. Rest in Peace old son.
Definitely something that gets lost as football becomes more globalised and less about the locals
Im not a liverpool fan, but i am a fan of what Liverpool and Dalglish did for this lovely old man, well done all concerned
You can imagine him walking up to the pearly gates with a big smile on his face saying â you will never believe who came to visit me!â

Aww I love your comment.
Well done kenny , RIP to Eric gone but never forgotten â€ïž
Must admit at the age of 67 I had a tear, wish this world could be a better place.
I'm not a Liverpool fan but have been an admirer of both the club and in particular two men, Bill Shankley and Kenny Dalglish, above all, for their integrity, who would have thought from a lad originally from Buenos Aires and a lifelong Boca Juniors fan. Congratulation to Eric, may he rest in peace, wonderful to see this.
Emotional this one. We are definitely at our best when we act through love and compassion.
Rest in Peace Ericđ
#YNWA

This is the story of "Once a red, always a red!" You listen quietly you can hear the echo's of fans from many a year in the stadium. It really is a special place! Love to all those who once passed through the gates! We are all bonded together to make this club a special one.

Kenny Dalglish is a legend and among the icons of world football!! He was awesome for Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland especially against the "auld enemy"!! Oh ..how we miss those British Home Internationals!!
I work in a care home and get to meet loads of characters.
This kind of stuff just makes me weep, it's a beautiful thing to do and a beautiful gesture.
Well done to Nivea Men and Liverpool FC.
Been a reds supporter since 1985/86 season.

Salford City fan here. It's wonderful to be reminded that there is a lot of goodness that goes unnoticed in the game. Well that was a kick in the bolloks wasn't it, just enjoying the story of a lifelong fan getting to see the Reds again and meeting Kenny. And then at the end we hear that he had sadly died, crusher, but at lease he got to go to Anfield one last time.
Bless him! Well done everyone ,King kenmy and LFC
I didnât see that coming at the end , what a great guy eric was , itâs emotional watching these surprises because these guys and girls live and breathe Liverpool, RIP eric
From a Celtic fan I'm so glad Eric made it to Anfield. Well done to King Kenny and RIP Eric.
YNWA đ GOD BLESSED THEM BOTHđ
Reminded me of my old man who also passed away in june. We got to see Liverpool beat leeds 6-0 with my son. It is because of the older generations passion for Liverpool that so many millions are now Liverpool fans. At the match another old gentleman went out of his way to show us where our seats were and told us to use lift when the gane was over he told a steward to wait at full tine to guude us to the lift. I think villa do a vip ticket free every week hope Liverpool do the same. Liverpool fans make the club and so many support the club because of fathers/mothers and grandparents. RIP Paddy Quinlan and Eric YNWA

As a Man Utd fan, hat off to Kenny, Liverpool and Nivea. So sad of his passing, but so pleased he managed one final trip to see his beloved Liverpool (sadly for him not the season he would have wished but his team did him proud).

That was great , Rest in peace from a Villa fan , what a lovely fella .
We have rivalries in football, we have disagreements in football, we have highs and we have lows, but what we all really do have is a common love of the game whoever we support and itâs the passion shown by Eric, for Liverpool FC and the generosity of the time given by the likes of Kenny Dalgleish that made an old manâs final days so happy that fills me with hope that we are really all one, truly connected and united fans of the game we all love whatever our allegianceâs and differences are.
RIP Eric. YNWA.

RIP Eric. YNWA
Oh boy that was so beautiful and then that last slide woah that did me - so sad RIP kind Sir what a joy it is to see such great men give there time for the common person - YNWA
I miss the old melwood. It had more of a community feel. Players would pass more through the city and see the people of this passionate and beautiful city. I live a 3 minute drive from melwood. I miss it so much. Also Eric is a true Liverpool fan. He seen us when we was terrible in the second division. And seen us the best in England.
Brilliant to see the club and the sponsors make this supporters day for a man who had supported the team since 1939 to say Kenny was his favourite player is a massive compliment when you consider the players that have played over that period. Just a really decent thing to do for the man. Sorry to see he has since passed.
Eric would have seen it all as a Liverpool fan. Hard to believe but in the 50's Liverpool were a second division side. Eric had the experience of watching Liverpool develop from a mediocre side to one of the best in the world.
Norwich fan. This was brilliant. 100% respect for all associated with LFC. That gentleman and Kenny are what football means to most of us true fans of the game.
RIP Eric youâll never walk alone ââ€ïžrespect to sir kenny daglish what a gentleman class đ
Just as I was thinking how this brought a smile, I then see he passed away. Sad. But glad they gave him a very special day before leaving us. RIP Eric
Wow what a great story and lovely to see him with Kenny at Anfield - R.I.P
Arsenal fan here. This is magic!! Brought a tear to my eye. For Eric!!!!
