Absolute legend, I was unfortunate not to be alive in the 80s to witness the success Liverpool had but to hear the stories of this man and what heâs done for the city of Liverpool and him as a human being, thereâs no better person that deserves the title of a legend than King Kenny. YNWA

@@nealefrancis9094 His actions after the Hillsborough disaster, going to all of the graves of the 96 at the time, now itâs 97. Heâs a man of the people and for everything heâs done for Liverpool football club, from player to then manager to now ambassador of the club.

I first saw him live playing for Celtic then, after he moved to Liverpool, every week of Match of the Day. Also saw him many times playing for and scoring for Scotland. What a talent⊠one of the best players from these islands. I was also married in the same church as he got married in!

I was 8yo when Shanks arrived and by the time I was 10, I could listen to him talk all day.
It was the first time in my young life that I consciously admired someone, I was mesmerized
by him and his attitude that players were there to play for those fans standing in the ground
watching the games was totally genuine in him, thatÂŽs what he believed and pretty soon
so did we :) Absolutely loved the man and the influence of him is almost sowed into the
very foundations on which Anfield is built! Never should anyone underestimate what that
man did for LFC, its fans and the city itself. In my 70s now and Shanks is still my all time
hero.

I had the greatest time of my Liverpool support when I was fortunate enough to get tickets for the Liverpool directors box; I think it was 1988 at Charlton. I remember going to have a chat with Kenny as he was rounding up the players to leave. When I got to him he was on his own and I didnât know what to say. I just said â When are the players going â. He saidâ Iâve just told them weâre leaving nowâ. I was so in awe and couldnât find any words to say. I just said âOkayâ and walked away. He was my hero and I missed an opportunity to have a chat, but at least I had that encounter. He was a quiet man with a great presence.

After the 82 Wc in spain there were people saying his international career was over. Try google the two goals dalglish scored against a strong Belgium side in 1982 EC qualifier. Simply magnifique.

Kenny Dalglish 1977-1991 and 2011-12. Played with Rush, Souness and Hansen. Signed John Barnes, Luis Suarez and Jordan Henderson. Won over 30 major trophies and scored 173 goals and countless individiual awards. 100 caps for Scotland. Great goalscorer and elite creative player. Scored great goals and created even better goals. Never has one man had such a huge impact on a single club in English football history

Such a humble man best player I ever seen
I see a lot of similarities between Klopp and the great managers of the past . Humble , hardworking and honest men , who were great at getting everyone involved to share their vision . Liverpool have their superstars , but I don`t see them as "big heads" - unlike many other clubs .
As Kenny says , the continuity isn`t there , like it used to be . Clubs just aren`t structured like this anymore .
A record just went recently. Once Henderson left liverpool in 2023 it brought the end to the association of players who have played with and been signed by Kenny Dalglish for Liverpool. 1959-2023. Dalglish played with Callaghan in 1977. Callaghan (Liverpool record appearance maker) made his Liverpool debut in 1959. His influence at Liverpool is from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s players. No man has ever had an impact as big as that

I'm a Scot, an old guy. I was in Benidorm 1977. Thompson, McDermott and Fairclough were there. David Fairclough must have been on the phone home and said Liverpool were going to sign Dalglish. He asked me what type of player Dalglish was. I just nodded and smiled. Better Dave found out for himself.
By the way i should have mentioned D.F. was a seriously good guy as was Sammy Lee who i had a chuckle or two with for four days before i found out he was a Liverpool player. He never mentioned it till i asked where he worked.

I remember the day he signed I was on a holiday coach trip in Filey Yorkshire & the radio was playing on the coach & the news said he just signed for Liverpool. Everyone had been thinking how are they gonna replace Keegan.
