Why aren't todays Club Captains expressing the same drive, desire, inspiration, motivation, discipline and dedication that Roy Keane had?
The passion and commitment spilled from his pours and since Roy Keane I've only seen Vincent Kompany even get close to his level of leadership on the field and even Kompany wasn't at Keanes level.
The only other player I've seen in my life with a similar desire to Roy Keane wasn't a Captain if i remember correctly (I'm not certain of that) but it was Gennaro Gattuso. He was all over the pitch working his socks off and putting in challenges to win the ball back to give it to Pirlo or Seedorf to set up the attacks.
Gattuso in my opinion was the closest playing style and desire to Roy Keane and he wasn't as good either.
Even as a Pundit now Roy Keane is passionate and brutally honest with what he expects from Manchester United players and he still does not give zero fucks who he offends or upsets when speaking his views.
I'm still gobsmacked that United allowed Keane to leave instead of seamlessly developing him from Captain to Assistant Manager to then become Manager once SAF retired.
He had the perfect attitude, he knew the club and the culture more than anyone else, he respected the badge, wouldn't accept anybody dropping standards or behaving inappropriately whilst representing Man United.
He understood fully what is expected of a Man United player, he gave his all in training and in games to honour that and he had no problem with challenging any player who he felt wasn't giving their best for the shirt.
If Keane didn't leave United and was guided into the managers position to follow on from Ferguson i doubt that anyone would have noticed the transition when Keane took the reigns.
I'd still back him to succeed as a United Manager now as all those years of experience, knowledge and understanding didn't disappear just because he left the club.
Roy Keane should be the first name to target when Man United are looking for a Manager and anyone that can't see that is deluded.
I'm a City fan and its clear as day to me from an outsiders perspective.

If you don't like it then don't read it but there's no need to reply with negative insults really is there?
I'm not insulting anyone or harming anyone by writing my opinion so whats your problem?
If you find something boring then don't read it, if its really boring then its not worth commenting on is it?
Comments sections are there for people to give opinions not for people to insult people who have given an opinion.
Keyboard warriors like yourself are pathetic, cowardly creatures who hide behind a screen insulting people they haven't got the balls to insult face to face.
If you'd like my address to come and say this to my face then just ask and you can come to my door and say it like a man instead of a spineless jellyback spewing out shite on CZcams.
I've had numerous clowns like you reply with insults and not a single one has had the bollocks to come to my door and back their mouth up.
I hope you are the first that will cos I'm dying to get a grip of one of you plonkers.
Either be polite and respectful or have the guts to meet the person you're insulting.
Only a shitty arse insults people from behind a screen.
Or send your address and i have no issue with coming to see you. Surely there must be one of you that will turn up to my house or give me their address.
Its beyond embarrassing how so many are happy to hurl abuse and insults but none are willing to identify themselves, say it face to face, turn up at my door or give their address.
Laughable pathetic spineless bully victims that find a method of being abusive towards people who can't get to them.
Awww bless you Wazza, was school a bit traumatising for you? Does Mummy know her little boy is struggling with his emotions and lashing out at strangers on youtube to make himself feel better?
You probably just need a hug and a goid cry bless you x
If at any point you decide to be a man and want to speak face to face just ask and I'll be happy to oblige you x
I won't hold my breath, you lot are all the same, all fart, no follow through x

@@robertdennehy7948 You are right, there won’t be. That is because football has been sanitised by tv wanting Tom
Rote the their investment. We now have women’s football. I will buy myself a hat & if women’s football gets the attendances week in, week out that men’s football does / did, I will eat it. I have watched football for 45 years approximately & have followed Man United home & away & spent a fortune. However, in the last 5+ years, I have felt distanced as it is all about the money now & for me, it is losing it’s connection with the people that made it what it wanted to be. It’s about tv, corporate tickets & as Roy Keane once said, “prawn sandwiches”. Between now & when he said it, more like, Caviar…..
