Boxers can fight. Just because you can’t beat an MMA guy does not mean you can’t fight. Boxers will starch most people, including tough guys. MMA fighters are not most people. When the world’s strongest man wins that year’s title, that does not mean all the other competitors are not strong.
By the way, Jake Paul and a few other boxers are the only ones who will sometimes talk bad about mma fighters. Most of them are highly respectful and many attend UFC events. It is the MMA guys that I see doing the constant comparing and I think most of it is money driven. The top MMA guys want to make what the top boxers make. Some are hoping a top boxer will take them on in a boxing match and make them rich. Win or lose, you get rich in those matches with famous boxers.

@@fzprof1756 COPE harder. Guinness world record holder NGANNOU is an anomaly & doesn't count seeing as hes the most DESTRUCTIVE PUNCHER in combat sports history. NO OTHER MMA FIGHTER ALIVE has ngannou's striking power, and no other MMA fighter will replicate the success NGANNOU achieved due to his HISTORICAL POWER & that's facts.
MMA fanboys "hate" boxing yet Ngannou thoroughly dominated the MMA world crushing dudes using his STANDUP/STRIKING as his MAIN TOOL/weapon. STRIKING so dominant that he RARELY ever needed to mixed it up with other tools or relying on submissions or lay&pray to crush opponents.
It was only after losing to an ACCOMPLISHED wrestler in STIPE, that caused NGANNOU to go back the drawing board to patch some holes in his wrestling game, which in turn allowed to him negate/stuff all takedown attempts from STIPE, effectively shutting down his best weapon, & once again finishing another fight STRIKING by KO.
Ngannou is a special athlete that basically became CHAMPION by beating full fledged MMA practitioners by using roughly a quarter of an entire MMA toolset. Let that sink in.

Now that he's in boxing, he can put all his rotation & power into each punch without damaging his hands. Not surprising that he was able to sweep Fury off his feet with that left hook. The irony is that due to the difference in gloves, ngannou never hit an MMA fighter as hard as he did fury, and they still get blasted out like OVERREEM. It's pretty hilarious.

Boxing is legitimate, but boxers would generally have a hard time transitioning even to other striking sports/styles like kickboxing or muay thai. Nevermind something where grappling is involved.

@@bmsuperstar1 Not exactly, in fact, Armchair Violence did a great video on self defense in knife attacks called "I Watched 215 Knife Encounters and Got My Video Age Restricted", where he actually breaks down the data he collected on self defense encounters, admittedly it was focused on knife attacks, but the data is interesting none the less, and I think it does a good job at representing how self defense actually plays out in real life, even if the numbers aren't entirely accurate-
I won't spoil the whole video for you, but striking was actually one of the LEAST effective ways of defending yourself, admittedly knife attacks may skew that number slightly, but in those scenarios, grappling dramatically improved people's chances of surviving when they had no alternative, plus he took combinations of tactics into account, and when you factored in situations where the victim used a combination of both grappling and striking to defend themselves, the success rate was actually lower than pure grappling, but higher than striking alone, again the knife may skew the numbers-
But if we're talking street fights, you don't actually know who is going to have a weapon, so why risk not immediately trying to control them?
Plus, the best way to avoid being taken down is knowing how to grapple in the first place, in a situation where you're dealing with multiple attackers, one, you're statistically f!cked in terms of odds from the start, but two, even if you ruled out tactics like using grappling to beat one person with another person-
The worst position to be in with multiple people is having one or more people grapple you and hold you or pin you down with no way to defend yourself, in that situation, you'd wanna know grappling to avoid getting pinned or restrained-
In fact, since what works for self defense also works for violence in general-
One of the best forms of unarmed self defense are also generally when multiple people work together to pin or restrain an attacker. Grappling is a devastating equalizer if you have the strength for it.
Also, in general, the best form of self defense is to arm yourself with literally anything, if someone is trying to stab me, or multiple guys even, you think I'm gonna try and box them all at once? Hell no-
Grab literally anything, a chair, a table, hell a bottle of lotion and swing away-
The crazier you look in the process, the better. Weapons, even improvised ones, are the best self defense hands down.
If you know how to punch, kick and grapple, that's great-
Good luck trying to box me with a rock getting thrown at your head.
For clarification, this isn't me trying to insult you or anything, but when you actually look deep into how these athletes compete and train, and how actual real life fights play out-
Wrestling is the only "sport" where picking up and yeeting your opponent into the ground with every ounce of force in your body is a potential win condition-
      Aside from MMA-
The concussive force of slamming or even ragdolling people in wrestling has no close comparison in any striking sport. A skilled boxer, kickboxer, or even BJJ athlete will make you feel like a child fighting a grown man, but a skilled and strong wrestler will make you feel like a sack of potatoes, the moment your feet leave the ground, you are not a human being, you are an object, and your head is about to be a basketball with how it hits the floor-
Listen to anyone who has gone against a capable grappler before, they all say the same thing, wrestlers are terrifying to fight against due to the intensity that they train from a much younger age than any other combat sport, and a vast majority of the top talent in the UFC are all grapplers of some sort who have picked up striking in some capacity.
Anderson Silva, Khabib, hell, even someone like Lesnar-
The champions in UFC have been dominated by guys with wrestling backgrounds, followed distantly by BJJ guys, and then Boxing.
Of the 70 individual champions across all of UFC, as of 2019, not counting one guy having multiple reigns as champion, 45 out of the 70 champions in history up to that point were grapplers, either BJJ, or Wrestling, with wrestling having the most at 28 champions, and BJJ second with 17.
ALMOST HALF of the champions in history up to 2019 were wrestlers, and MORE THAN HALF were grapplers.
      28 wrestling.
      17 BJJ.
      12 Boxing.
      6 Kickboxing.
      4 Muay Thai.
      2 Taekwondo.
      and 1 karate.
The top two grappling sports consistently make more champions than the top FIVE striking sports combined.
Hell, if we take out BJJ entirely, wrestling alone has still made more champions than every striking sport combined.
      28 wrestling.
      25 Striking.
      The numbers don't lie.

@bane3991 most boxers have dabbled in wrestling or some sort grappling so they have an understanding and with that train for the fight with some of the best instructors in the world just like MMA guys do. You're talking about guys who have the same competitive drive and strength as an MMA fighter they train for longer fights to begin with that's why they have better stamina most the time. And it sucks tbh we won't find out what would happen for a boxer to step in the Oct simply bc the pay why are they going to fight on the UFC for couple hundred thousand when they been boxing for millions?? That's why ufc fighters go box but you never see vice versa the UFC fighter is in a win win situation regardless of the outcome of the fight.

    • @TehSwmmy
      @TehSwmmy Před 4 měsíci +1

@trevorhubbard6416 as someone who boxes and trains BJJ you are completely wrong about the conditioning aspect, grappling is significantly harder conditioning wise than just throwing punches. And you won't see pro boxers get in the cage because they all know they would be tapped out in 2 min. Also even if boxers have dome wrestling that would not help them at all against certain submissions. And wrestling at some.point is completely different than a black belt in BJJ. They would get bullied, and this is coming from a MASSIVE boxing fan.
