I completely feel you when it comes to wanting to expand knowledge, pursuing them, and reaching that full potential. I am currently going through all of these urges of wanting to make more art, reading all these books in my queue, doing well in school etc etc. Ideas from A-Z lol! Like all these desires make you feel like a backed up toilet and it's insane!!! Like WHAT is stopping us from doing what we want?! I think about it, and I get all excited and inspired but then the next day I feel like doing the same exact things, it can be so discouraging. But I am just so relieved to be able relate, but am feeling so enlightened about your say in paying attention to signs from the universe. That is just too cool and a good pick me up. We really need to focus on finding the things that would only nourish our souls. Your talks are so enlightening, Hitomi, and I adore your energy. :)

10/10 approve to what he says. I have some extreme mental illness and have kinda the same past like you in terms of being used only bc im good looking. I try to handle my problems the same way you do and its an incredible feeling that someone at a completly different place goes through the same things. omg!! i know how you feel about not feeling beautiful bc of your race. im hispanic and middle eastern, and i have 4 huuuuge beauty marks on my face and i was bullied a lot for them. it still bothers me to this day when ppl call me "ethnic" or "exotic" like as if i am that different from everyone else. like its so hard to feel beautiful in the us, especially w these white/western standards seen everywhere that are unachievable for me. idk just gonna rant real quick on this vid lmaooo

Classical Concept of Beauty (Greeco-Roman)
Beautiful outer form is the
manifestation of beautiful inner content

People think someone is moral, intelligent, reliable etc.
because they are beautiful.
2nd
The contrapositive of Classical Beauty (Physiognomy)
Ugly outer appearance is the
manifestation of an ugly inner nature
&
People think someone is immoral, lazy, unintelligent etc.
because they are ugly.
3rd
Shallow beauty (the obsession of cynical Hollywood)
A beautiful outside bereft of an inside
The inside, deprived of itself,
exists as the alienation of its outer form
&
People think someone is only beautiful
and possess no greater qualities.
4th
Beauty and the Beast Theory or
Hunchback of Notre Dame
The beautiful inner content,
unrepressed by its opposite outer form,

Hey Hitomi, I have a question. How did you manage to move and live in New York? Are you by yourself? I'm in Jersey right now and my short term dream right now is to live there. I want to so badly and I'm 20 right now and I really wanna get something going with my life. I know it might sound stupid that that's a dream of mine but I'm just so in love with New York. I go there so often I might as well live there lol. But I know it's expensive so how do you do it?

GO!!!. find a place with roomates first. people you know or even look on craigslist (sounds kinda scary, but its super common in nyc). you sound passionate about it and life is too short not to live your dreams!

Omg yes your mom is so sweet!! Idk if you've seen my comment on your recent depression and healing video bc you got tons of comments to read all the time I bet! Haha so I hope I don't sound like a broken record~ But I appreciate you so much and I love these deeper videos you do! I felt like the ugliest person growing up since there weren't many East Asian kids and I was always put down for the way I looked, especially my eyes. But now I'm feeling more comfortable "looking Asian" and trying to be cognizant of the euro-centric beauty standards I try to compare myself to. And I try to remind myself the only people nitpicking me are doing so Bc they're projecting their insecurities. But anyway, when life starts to feel like a competition and I question my self-worth I remember how important my life is bc my brother died when he was just a baby and though my mom while pregnant was hit by another car when driving she didn't have a miscarriage with me. And so my parents cherish me and I remind myself that everyone is worthy because we all have had the chance to live this life. and it's crazy to think about all of the directions our lives can take or that we're even here in the first place

People treat me as if I'm too 'black' for the white kids and or too 'white' for the black kids. I hate that feeling of just not belonging & I need your insight ! You don't have to fit in anywhere, race isn't your identity. Your soul is your identity. And people who exclude you and say you're too black and too white... "in life nothing is just plain black and white" is a quote that so fittingly makes sense to your identity crisis. But don't let what people say drive you to an identity crisis. You're you girlie own it, you're not like anyone and that's fucking awesome. I hope you retract from your crisis soon, sending you all the good vibes
