I didn’t know impatients would come back every year, I love them
They don't here. I save seeds and replant in the spring. In warmer climates they do come back yearly.
GREAT IDEAS, I WOULDN,T HAVE THOUGHT A LAMP WOULD HAVE MADE A BEAUTIFUL BASE. THANKS FOR SHOWING US HOW TO DO THIS.
You're welcome. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks to Steve for being such a great helper. Nice person.
Thanks. I thinks he's pretty great.
What a clever way to upcycle the lamp into something beautiful and functional. Loved seeing the birds enjoying their new bath. Your garden is lovely! Cheers from FL😺
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for stopping by from FL. I lived in FL many many years ago.
The turquoise and terracotta looking basin are perfect together! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you.
I love your fountains and I cannot wait to build a couple for my garden. I do have a suggestion for you... For the bird bath you made from concrete, place a bunch of river rocks, mixed with those glass pebbles you can buy at those Dollar Trees and 99-cent stores that come in a variety of really pretty colors. Place enough of the mixture of small river rocks and glass pebbles so that the water is still reachable, but there is plenty of dry surface for the butterflies, bees, and other small beneficial creatures to drink, bathe, but not drown. Plant some Butterfly Bushes and a variety of blue and purple flowers nearby to attract some Monarch butterflies and honey bees. You'll love watching your garden come alive. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with the rest of us and giving us ideas on these beautiful bird baths we can build for our own gardens. May God always Bless you with good health and prosperity in all you do.
I have a bee and butterfly bath. I also have milkweed planted for the butterflies. I've been expanding my garden each year. Thanks for stopping by.
Love seeing the Robin bathing...puts a smile on my face 😊 Enjoyed the tutorial and your lovely garden too. 🌼🐦🐇🐝🌺A happy place !!
Thanks for stopping by. The garden is my happy place.
I love that birdbath, especially the lamp part and the color. I’m inspired!
I'm glad it could inspire. Thanks so much for stopping by.
That’s so cool! I want to try one in my back yard this year. I’m wanting to attract more birds. The robins are loving it!!!
You should. The birds will love it. Thanks for watching.
That robin loved his bath!
I agree.
Very nice! And thanks so much for the bird footage…. Happy bird bathing… fun to watch!
Thank you and thanks for stopping by.
To help keep fountain centered you can attach straws to the stabilizers to make them longer
Thanks for that tip!
Awesome idea and looks absolutely gorgeous. Mr Robin was a happy boy.
Thank you! 😊
Turned out cute, also like that it’s budget friendly!!!
The birds are enjoying it. Thanks for stopping by.
Genius! I LOVE it and I am so happy I came across this video! Thanks for the inspiration! ❤😊
You are so welcome! Thanks for stopping by.
Absolutely beautiful! Love the idea of the lampstand and your finished solar fountain. Such a colorful garden. You've gotten my creative juices flowing. The caught moment of the Robin taking advantage of your shower/bathing fountain made me laugh. He looked like he really enjoyed it. Gods creatures are so precious and wonderful to watch. Thank you for sharing. I'm so thankful for diy videos like this. Have a blessed day.
Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I love watching God's wonderful creatures.
Wonderful idea for bird bath. I also got idea from cinder block planting
I love my cinder block garden. There are so many things to do with them. Thanks for stopping by.
I loved the robin. I love to watch birds taking a bath. They're just sooo cute!
I do too. Thank you for stopping by.
Enjoyed every second.
Thank you
This is great. I have an old broken birdbath and now I see I can make a new top for it. That fountain was a nice addition. My birds will be happy! Thank you.
You're welcome. Yes, there are many ways to repair old birdbaths with simple parts. I had an old plastic birdbath that was broken. I wasn't able to repair the base but I was able to use the top of it on a lamp base. Thanks for stopping by.
I have used the solar fountain before. They work good. How ever have to watch them closely because the spray nozzles can cause the water to spray out and if it’s windy water will spray out. Robin is having a great time 😂😂
Yes, I have an issue on breezy days.
Beautiful birdbath; such a nice color. Beautiful garden.
Thank you for the kind comment and for stopping by.
I loved watching the birds bathing! I need to try to make this! Thank you. Love Chattanooga
Thank you. I would go with a little deeper plate if you use a solar fountain.
I love your laid back down to earth personality personality and so creative. thank you for being price conscious and for sharing. And God Bless You
Thank you. God bless you, too!
This has inspired me so much ! Your garden is beautiful 😍

Hi Chastity, Love how the birdbath turned out! great flower garden tour! I love Lillies! TFS! Blessings to you! ✝🕊🙏🏼💖
Thanks Cynthia. Blessings to you too!
This would be a great idea for one of my Mom's old lamps. She passed away 7 years ago, but I couldn't part with some things.
Yes, it is a great way to repurpose old lamps. I'm sorry for your loss. I understand not being able to part with some things. You can also use a shallow plate or bowl and make a bird feeder. I made my sister a lamp into a feeder and the birds love it.
Thank you🫶🤩🤩🤩🤩Beautiful ❤️
You're welcome. Thanks for stopping by.
Birdbath turned out beautiful, your garden looks very pretty too!
Thank you so much!
Just want to try!!!❤
Thanks for watching.
I loved this! Very creative and you have a truly beautiful garden. Have a great week! 🤗💕🐦
Thank you! You too!
What a great idea.
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful
Thank you
I love this idea! I’ve been looking for a unique solar fountain idea, but for hummingbirds. What I’m going to do to attract them is use a fountain nozzle that’ll just gurgles water out. This will also solve a lot of the loss of water due to wind sweeping the spray away. Thanks for the video!
Yes, I have another video where I show the different nozzles and which works best for the shallow basins. I took the fountains out for winter and put a rock in the bath. This bath attracts a lot of finches and bluebirds. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@@BobbiJo nice! Autocorrect goofed up my previous comment, it’s now edited. I am actually educated 😂. We live in the desert southwest. Water of any sort attracts so many birds. But it makes it more interesting when the water circulates and it prevents mosquito larvae from being able to live in it. Of course, when you refill the water daily it isn’t a problem anyway.
Looks amazing! That Robin sure enjoyed splashing around. 💯❣️Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by.
Just beautiful,I got me a solar pump ,love it made mine with two flower pots
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Cool.
Such a beautiful birdbath/fountain! Love the colour! ❤👍
Thank you.
I love this DIY and favorite flowers too❤
Thank you.
❤❤❤awesome
Nice bird bath. Like the color. Glad birds used it. I miss seeing Robins. It is rare they fly through here.
Thank you. We have more Robins than any other bird here.
You betcha!!! I LOVE IT👏🏻😍
Thanks.
I’m in the process of making my own bird bath!! Love the robins!!
Awesome! I'm sure it will be beautiful. Thanks for stopping by.
That is so pretty. Great job.
Thank you.
I love that ❤I need to make one ! I found a solar powered fountain on Temu for $7 ! That Robin is very happy 😃
I keep seeing Temu ads but haven't tried it yet. Thanks for telling me that and for stopping by.
Awesome beautiful flowers!!
Thank you. I need to do a garden update this week since the black eyes Susan's are blooming now.
Thanks for your video nice yard
Thank you for stopping by.
Thanks for the info. The bird bath is lovely.
You're welcome and thanks for stopping by.
Such a beautiful serene garden. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for visiting.
❤ love this thanks 😊
You're welcome 😊 thanks for stopping by.
Great idea! Love the color and love the robin! Yes, birds are drawn to the trickling water sounds! The straws are basically bumpers so the fountain doesn't go to the sides and spill out even more water! I bought the glass solar fountain on amz this year. Try that one too! It has a different attachment that keeps the water lower. I agree that the planter tray is probably too shallow. That's what I've been using in my broken bird bath. Thanks for the cool DIY's !
They had some beautiful glass bird bath basins at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and I started to get one but I talked myself out of it because it was still more than I normally spend. I will look for the glass solar fountain. I'm about to make my Mom a birdbath and she wants a fountain.
what a joy watching your creativity with the lamp/birdbath and your lovely garden. I"m a sucker for keeping the birds, bees, insects and frogs afloat with fresh water, so happy to see you doing this as well. Its so hot here in central Texas! One suggestion - or maybe two - lol - it would have been nice to see how your husband sawed the wood square spacer into the round shape - and how did yall fill up the lamp with sand and concrete? would have been nice to see that done too. overall a joy - thank you!
Thank you. I bought the wood spacer at a craft store. I believe this one came from Michaels. I have a few more I got cheaper from Hobby Lobby for my next projects. I filled it with sand and gravel and sealed the bottom with concrete. I thought I videoed it but my battery was dead. That is the reason it wasn't shown.
I love it, and the color is gorgeous! ❤😊
Thank you.
Nice garden…
Thank you.
Lovely project!!! The birds love it❤❤❤
Thank you.
Such a wonderful idea
Thanks for sharing
Your garden is so pretty
Thank you and thanks for stopping by.
If you come a crossed some older glue like you said you had in this video try putting the glue into some hot water if it's not to old or dried out to much it should help soften it back to normal .
Thanks for the tip. I did not throw out the dried glue because I was going to look up a way to save it but I never got around to it. I will try this.
Oh I love this Video, it was cool
Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Cool project
Thank you.
Find the center of the circle with a paper pattern you fold to find center the mark on your wood. The extra time is worth it.
Thanks and thanks for stopping by.
Looks awsome thanks for posting
Thanks for watching!
Nicely done!
Thanks for your help.
Tell Steve I SALUTE him! 😊
I love it!!! Now i want to make many of them
Thanks. Yes, I keep making them from different types of lamps and giving away as gifts.
@@BobbiJo wow I wouldn’t mind a nice gift like that!!!! Well keep up the good work
How beautiful and the birdie to!
Thank you.
Great video! The bird bath turned out really nice.
Thank you. The smaller birds love it.
Beautiful garden.
Thanks and thank you for stopping by.
Very cool!! I made one last year from a lamp I found in FL and a tray I found at TJMaxx, used E600 to glue them together
That is awesome!
I find what does fountains they have to be in direct sunlight all the time for them to work properly and you got to put those guides around them so they won't move around and empty the water out of your fountain
I don't have much direct sunlight in my yard because of the trees. But I'm able to use the solar fountains a few hours a day. Thanks for stopping by.
Perfect. I recently acquired a stone-like lamp with similar design to create a birdbath. Looking forward to making this. Thanks
Sounds great! The birds will enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by.
I love how you did this. So cool!
Thanks. It was a fun project.
How Awesome! I Love the lamp idea ❤
Thanks. There are several ways to do it using different style lamps. Thanks for watching.
You can use the fountain without a cap or make the cap holes slightly larger. These fixes reduce the height of the spray. Another option is to get a solar panel that is separate from the pump. This allows you to place the fountain in an area with shade while the panel is exposed to the sun.
Yes, there are several options. It came with different caps. The birds seem like the one that bubbles instead of sprays the best.
That has also been my experience.
@@leannemiller9514 thanks for the info and for stopping by!
That is so cool.
Thanks Mike.
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Nice idea. I have two lamps I'm not fond of so I'm going to make a bird bath too. Thanks for Sharing.
You’re welcome 😊 thanks for watching.
Success - looks cool and the birds love it. You can always anchor the solar fountain with some stones if you don't want it to move/float. I liked your other birdbath lamp project even better because it has more height and I liked the shape a bit more - but this one looks cool too. I see a trip to Goodwill et al in my future:). I really liked the idea of boring a hole in a wood piece like you did - THANKS!:)
I liked the other one better because the lamp base looked more like a decorative birdbath. The birds are enjoying all of them. The sparrows and finches seem to enjoy the fountain the most. The robins like them all. The bigger birds like birdbath #2 because it is the deepest. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. I love hearing from my viewers.
Beautiful, he should have paid for that shower, lol.😊
He sure did enjoy it!
great idea!!!!A++
Thank you! 😊
I bought one of those solar fountains a few yrs. ago. Tried the different sprayers, same problem. I ended up using the little bubbly one. The others went too high and would spray over the bowl. I ran outta water Too fast and what a noise they make when they do. Love your bird bath !
Yea the bubbly ones works better. Thanks for stopping by.
I love it I have the same pump, I put the rod only on mine and the water just rolls off the top no wind issues, and bird love it even hummingbirds
I've done that with mine as well. I saw a hummingbird enjoying it yesterday 😊 Thanks for stopping by.
Thank you so much for the review on this solar water fountain and the link on Amazon! I have looked at many but wasn't sure if the little inexpensive solar ones would work. You showed this end of May 2023 and now it's mid July 2023, is it still working as well as it was in this video? I been wanting to make a birdbath fountain and this video was just the ticket to spur me along! I just found your channel today so I haven't looked at other videos yet. I'm in NW Florida so you know it's hot hot hot here and super humid. I hate to have to put the mosquito dunks in my water sources even though the dunk is safe for all wildlife except insects that breed in the water like mosquitoes but I still don't like having to use the dunk and if I have a fountain and the water is moving then they don't like to lay their eggs on moving water. I'm not sure how a solar would work for that though since it don't work at night unless it continues with yard lighting because I have loads of that. I live in a very rural area but I am totally fenced in, I only have about an acre of land.
It still works great. It needs direct sunlight for the best water flow. I have a very shady yard so mine only gets direct sunlight about 6 hrs a day. I'm not sure if it works under other light sources. I may put it under my lamp out front tonight and see if it works. I will let you know. I understand the humidity and heat. I grew up in southeast Georgia and the mosquitos were horrible.
@@BobbiJo thank you!
@@Maggie-Gardener-Maker it needs sunlight.
I had one of these solar pumps. The deer drank the water from my bird bath each night, emptying it. The solar pump ran on empty and wore out.
Mine still works but I have to clean it weekly. I don't get a lot of sun in my backyard this time of year because of all the tree cover. So I don't have it out there right now. At my previous house, we had a lot of deer. It was difficult keeping them out of the garden. Thanks for stopping by.
Drill the small holes bigger so the water doesn't spray out. It works great for me. And you can put rocks on the inside too.
Thanks for the tips.
Way to recycle!!! You need to make a hummingbird bubbler for those little ones 😄
It is on my to-do list. Thanks for stopping by.
I love this! Any ideas on what would work for a deeper basin? 😊
Thanks for stopping by. Id check Goodwill and local thrift shops for different size bowls or platters. I found a salad serving bowl that was made from a hard plastic that I think will work great for a deeper basin. You can also get deeper plant trays on Amazon.
@@BobbiJo Thank you.
❤
And that Robin was having a Happy Bath
Your bird bath looks so pretty. Can you please post the link of your hummingbird feeders? They look easy to clean
Yes, I will see if I can find a link and post it in the video description. Thanks for stopping by.
Unfortunately they no longer have that feeder available on Amazon. I bought it a couple of years ago. It is removal rings that you can put on your finger to try to get the hummingbirds up close. The other is a glass one that I bought at Rock City. I did post a link in the description to a feeder similar to one of my favorites. It is easy to clean and the hummingbirds love it.
Thank you!@@BobbiJo
@@ssu3349 you're welcome.
Was your tray plastic or real terracotta. Where did you get it?
I have all the supplies listed out in the video description. This is a hard plastic. I found mine at Ace Hardware but I've seen a large selection at Home Depot and Lowes too. Thanks for watching.
Thats so nice. I have the fountain like that but water doesn't come out like yours. Im so disappointed.
I'm sorry to hear that. There are certain times of the day when mine doesn't do this. It is only after noon when the sun is on this side of my yard. Thanks for watching!
What is the top made of, plastic or Terra cotta.
This one is resin. I saw some just like it at Home Depot yesterday. Resin is safe for birdbaths and holds up in the hot summer here in Tennessee.
👍👍🌺🌺
wouldnt washers work the same?
Washers work the same for what?
As a substitute for the wood if you don't cut the thread,@@BobbiJo
Dry brush it white it would be nice
I read somewhere that birds don't like white as they associate it with danger. Strange as I had a white plastic birdbath years ago and lots of birds used it.
Read elsewhere that different colors attract different birds. I wonder if that is true..
Dont much like that color because that teal color usually is not found in the garden very garish. A gentle sage green might have been more harmonious.
I hope you find the perfect sage color for your garden. Have a blessed day.
I have gorgeous ceramic pots in almost the same color and a gorgeous matching bottom tray that I actually use as a ground bird / animal watering tray! They look so beautiful in my yard! Try it! You may love it!
@@Scoobylife yes I'm sure I would love it. I love colorful colors.
Where did you find those lilies? I need some for my garden. You are correct about the Indigo Bunting. Beautifully colored birds. When I lived in southeast Georgia I would see the Painted Bunting a lot too. Very colorful birds.
@@ChattTNBirdLady I have some bearded irises I can share with you if you want some.
