Love simple games like this with motorized mechanics. Nice review!
Me too - there's some great ideas out there!
Great review! Never heard of this one before! Incredible, after so many years of searching vintage games I've never come across it!
There's always new things to find! I love discovering new games that I didn't know existed before.
I still really like this game because of the theme. Adventure board games this is what I really like.
Adventure themed board games are pretty much my favourite too. But this one is just not a great game to play - at least for adults!
Ultimately it boils down to being a slow “press your luck” mechanic.
Indeed, but as it's a dice roll, you don't get to CHOOSE to press your luck or not as you go around the circle, only when you get to the end of the loop, and you may even have 3 gold bars by then without wanting to.
I got this one a few months back when I came across a decent deal. Couldn't resist the adventure theme similar to Forbidden Bridge. The contents list on side of box says 8 gold bars which mine has, but like you said I've seen copies on ebay with as many as 12. After playing it several times I think I actually like it with only 8 bars, it makes players fight to get them since they might run out in 3 to 4 player games. I also thought the same about the hippo and croc colors being switched, very odd.
Definitely a sucker for adventure themed games!
New subscriber and I'm loving the content keep it up 10/10
Thanks for subscribing! :)
the crocs look like the one from peter pan or rescuers must have inspired the cover art
Yes, it definitely made me think of Peter Pan myself.
I used to have this game, it was so frustrating!
Definitely!
@@AtticRaidersRetroReviewsme and my cousins used to have so many arguments accusing each other of holding our pieces so to not make them fall lol. As for the game loopin Louie omg do not get me started…😂
Another informative board‐game science experiment! 🧪🔬⚛ Not what I expected from a game whose name sounds like the title of an old Looney Tunes cartoon…!
Gotta test those mechanisms! 🕵♂
