Spain are the best, most technical, football team, they out played , outclassed and dominated england big time, england coach changed tactics but that didnt help. spain have defined the way womens football should be played, and have the best players hands down.

One point which has been missed is, from what I read, they didn’t want Vilda canned. They wanted some changes, they wanted friendlies against top competition, they wanted better conditions, they wanted more money allocated so their families can come see them play, they wanted a nutritionist, etc. Now with this Rubiales deal Vilda seems to have been forgotten.

Congratulations to all the women who love or practice soccer around the planet. You have shown an impressive quality show in this women's world cup. In Spain and other places we call football "the king of sports", but now it is the king and queen of sports. Thank you.🙂

Spain tore us apart everything they were superior in. But I am so proud of my country for the progress they've made these past few years has been so inspiring this final has definitely encouraged some young girls to join the boys when playing at school congrats to Spain and What a way to wrap up an amazing tournament.

Technically, Spain were far superior to England. It's scary really for the whole world, just how far ahead Spain is. When England pride themselves on possession, Spain dominated England with ground possession and ball possession was probably 70%/80% in Spain's favour. The only positive for England really was on counter attack but this was mostly after Spain had already scored. This gave them good possession into the box but because they were under pressure to score, they were unable to finish.
Also, England's ugly tactics of attacking the player and not the ball should have been yellow carded from the beginning of the tournament. If blatant body contact is permissable, then Spain and Australia and every opponent of England, should have been notified.

Would Spain have won the World Cup if the rebellion on board the fifteen had not existed? You can't change the past, but we can improve the future. For me it is clear, the public money of all Spaniards must, by law, be the same for men or women. Another thing is or are the private economies, clubs, broadcast rights, advertising... That is where the Market regulates it, and that is why the stadiums must be filled when the women play, that they are broadcast on television or the internet and tune in. The Market should see similar gains in women's football as in men's and then signings of the same figures will be seen. That equality is more difficult to achieve, but equality regarding the public economy should be the same for both men and women.

Womens soccer is not at the same level as the men. Wanting equal pay is like asking women supermodels to share their earnings with male models. Women supermodels make a lot more then the men because they bring in the money. It's common sense. If someone sees women soccer making billions in the future investors will invest in the sport.

As a Spaniard that played in the Seventies in the Regional Division of the Basque region of Spain, I have something to say. As the male soccer evolved in Spain so the women soccer did. In my time as a player, we played in very muddy fields in Northern Spain (Not once we played in grass in 5 years in my regional division) The water will freeze and we will have to be careful not to cut our legs with the frozen water. We trained from 6:00 to 9:00 pm with temperatures in their 20s Fahrenheit and when we took our shower it had to be with cold water because the teams didn't have the money to buy commercial water heaters. We only had a pair of boots for the whole season and my parents will have to buy me a second pair because before half of the soccer season the tear and wear will destroy the cleats that the team gave us and never, and I repeat never questioned once our coach in any way. Professional women soccer leagues in Spain started 4 years ago. It takes time to find sponsors, organized the leagues well, commit resources, make money with the games and get enough funds to make it profitable, in other words they found the same difficulties that we did when we started the men's soccer leagues in the 70s. In fact, in a very short time everybody could see the progress of the women's soccer leagues and how great are becoming. Now, this is the point, when the Spanish soccer federation asked the 15 players why they were unhappy, they said, "We don't like the ways the coach trains, prepares the games and his personal treatment towards us but we don't want coach Vilda to be fired". But what really happened is that many of the same 15 players will take time to speak in the cell phone during training sessions, go shopping during the training sessions, constantly tell the coach how to train, prepare the games, rivals to choose from etc , one of them even proclaimed, "For my ovaries Vilda has to go". Jorge Vilda, being an strict coach and a little bit paternalistic refused to give in to the demands of the spoil brats and asked the president of the Spanish Soccer Federation, Luis Rubiales, to back him in the removal of the 15 brats out of the Spanish team. They did, and the Spanish Soccer Federation won the Under 17, under 20 and now the absolute team world cups. Rubiales (With his poor manners) kissed Jenny Hermoso (There is a video that shows Jenny Hermoso and all the players making fun of the kiss and laughing about it, and even saying "Que se besen" that means kiss again, kiss again). Of course we have a Ministry of Equality, with their feminazis, in Spain with a budget of 20 billion Euros (You hear well, 20 billion) that took a little kiss as an excuse for unprovoked abuse against women and already fired coach Jorge Vilda and Rubiales will be gone very soon too. Nowadays it is dangerous to be a male in Spain and there are many people really unsatisfied with the turn of events there, being the women soccer league one of them. It is incredible, at all levels, the progress of the women's soccer leagues in Spain and the results are there to prove it but as long as we have a very powerful Ministry of Equality that uses any circumstance to justify their astronomic budget and salaries we will not have a normal evolution of our girls soccer leagues.

The excuse "so many key players missing" just doesn't fly. Most teams were missing key players, Brazil, Germany, France, SPAIN, and so on. The fact is that England just isn't as "special" as some people think they are, and they showed it in this tournament, away from home, and away from their fans. If you want to talk about a special team, look no further than the world cup winners, Spain.
One of you said "educate yourself" regarding the whole "15" issue. To clarify, i agree that work can't nditions for anyone must be 100% safe, the work environment must be such that is not just acceptable but inviting. Howeveruf you recall, when they wrote the letter,it doesnt name any names and they later clarified that they were not calling for the sackung of yhe head cach, rather they were asking for better work conditions, an improved training environment, and kater on we found out that they were asking for a nutritionist, a sports psychologist, and a way for their families or partners to travel with them, among other things. The Vilda issue was something the media created and foused on. Now, im no fan of Vilda, i dont think he was the roght man for the job, but he did make all the roght calls (except for the Japan mess) during the tournament. Minor details aside in the lineup and player selection, he did a descent job in the tournament. Im not talking about his record or the previous matches or selection process, but specifically for the tournament. My point is that sense you mention education yourself about anything, you should make that distinction about the subject matter of the letter.

This seems an oddly bitter post given all the praise Spain has rightly gotten. England are currently also considered one of the 'special' teams (like Spain) because of the way they literally blasted through the Euros, including taking down Spain on the way and Germany in the final; and reaching the 2023 WC finals - where they didn't quite play as well, but were still finalists.
It's also totally fine to mention missing top players: Beth Mead is arguably currently one of the top forwards in the world and completely in her prime. I've repeatedly heard Spanish fans claim they're missing key players, both in the 2022 Euros (where they lost to England in the Quarters) and the 2023 WC.
Both Spain and England have a fantastic story in women's football over the last few years. They've come from behind and toppled the historic dominant teams: USA, Germany, Sweden etc, as the current best.
I think Spain deserved to win the WC. They were the better team in the final. But it's very strange to claim England also aren't one of the current best women's teams in the world when they won the Euros and were WC finalists back to back.

@@MrDragon1968 Hmmm... I don't agree with you, and that should be enough. People can disagree with each other's opinion, it is ok to do that. My reasons for not thinking England is that special is simple: they cannot win outside of England. I happen to think Betcha Mead is a great player. Nevertheless, when it comes to playing as a team in a tournament away from home they just haven't proven themselves to be capable.
Take the Euros for example. They were being outplayed by Spain (which at the time were not at their best. The cat ach was a disaster). It took 14 (phantom) minutes of injury time for them to equalize Spain and send the match to extra time. Then they played Germany, another team in turmoil that was a surprise for many that they actually made it to the final match. The proof was in the world cup. They were a disaster there.
Then in the world cup, who did England play? All the good teams were in the opposite bracket! Yeah, I don't think England's national team is that special.

@@gabrBL82 "My reasons for not thinking England is that special is simple: they cannot win outside of England" "Nevertheless, when it comes to playing as a team in a tournament away from home they just haven't proven themselves to be capable. "
Well, that's just nonsense, obviously. England had a 30-game unbeaten run just before they went to the 2023 WC. All those games were not at home. In the 2023 WC - IN AUSTRALIA - they beat all their opponents to make it to the final: including a very impressive Nigeria and also the host nation in the Semis - Australia 3:1 (who'd been on a big roll and had taken out France in the Quarters and have one of - if not - the best scorers in the world). So much for your claim England can't win away from home or their fans. They literally beat the hosts.
The 2022 Euros may have been 'at home' but England pile-drove through that tournament in a completely unprecedented way. They beat Norway 8-nil, Ireland 5-nil, Sweden 4-nil etc and also took out the two favourites Spain (quarters) and Germany (finals) to win the championship. It is a huge level of cope on your part to make excuses for those teams, when England out played them when it mattered. I certainly wouldn't make those excuses for England in the WC final. Spain outplayed England on the day. Spain rightly won that match.
Totally weird that you state that you can't make 'excuses' for teams not being at their best, and then you literally make 'excuses' for teams not being at their best..!
"The proof was in the world cup. They were a disaster there."
Yep, total 'disaster': World Cup finalists. European Champions.

@MrDragon1968 😆 They made it out of their group in the world but didn't leave good sensations. I understand. You're a loyal fan... who cares. Only you. So tell me: what happened in the nations cup? You talk about the previous 30 games as if they had competition in friendlies. They didn't have to qualify for the euros. They did blow out teams (minnows) in world cup qualifying, and they did their job qualifying for the final match. Do you want to give them a trophy for that? It was expected! When they win a major tournament outside of England, I'll give them proper credit.

Ahhh. I see. We’re doing bad faith arguments now, are we? Try to attack the persons ‘credibility’ and patronise them because they have a different opinion. Always a loser argument.
“You talk about the previous 30 games as if they had competition in friendlies.”
Friendlies? What!? They had a 30 game unbroken winning run after Wiegman took over up until just a couple of months before the 2023 WC. That’s including both the European Championships and the Women’s Finalssima; those aren’t friendlies!
“They didn't have to qualify for the euros.”
Are you claiming they wouldn’t have qualified? Did you watch the Euros? Very bizarre to dismiss their knock-out winning performance throughout. You seem obsessed with ‘home advantage’ yet completely ignore the fact the reason they won is because they had a huge amount of depth - while beating some of the best teams in Europe.
“They did blow out teams (minnows) in world cup qualifying, and they did their job qualifying for the final match. Do you want to give them a trophy for that? It was expected!”
Well, they did get a trophy for it. When you’re second you still get a trophy, Sweetie ;-) Joking aside, all the major teams end up qualifying against mostly (not all) ‘minnows’ as you call them. I mean, Christ, Spain had the Faroe Islands in it’s group. www.tntsports.co.uk/football/women-s-world-cup-qualification-uefa/2023/standings.shtml
You seem to have a completely black and white view of football: only the World Cup winner can ever be categorised as good. There is no group of the best teams, even when they can vary (go up and down in performance). It’s very odd.
I think its fantastic that Spain, England and certain other women teams have started to heavily invest in the sport and started to have major successes against the traditional winners in the last two years or so. Long may it continue. I don’t share your negativity and arrogance.
