Spain is the finals! Good job. Best of luck!!!
No dragging down. Spain has reached the world cup final
So Aitana Mariona and Ona have accepted the invitation to compete? Tough choice to make. I love the Spanish players but it will be hard to root for the team.
amazing...
Right decision by the federation.
So many cry babies these days.
Hey hey substitute players WON the world cup. No big names are needed. No changes need. Let the 15 players stay out forever. Big names means nothing.
As Sir Alex Ferguson once said" No player is bigger than the club".
Now imagine we have not one, but 15 players who thought they were bigger than their country by trying to get the head coach who hasn't done anything legally wrong, fired.
It was a smart decision by those who decided to come back. For the rest, they will come to regret their decision later on in life as the world cup comes around only once every 4 years, and at a time when so many stars will miss the tournament through untimed injuries, these players will miss it because of their egos and their lack of compassion and professionalism towards their country.
What a silly point of view.
@@Valentin-ve6ms Spain won the world cup without those players.
So the joke is on you pal.
Geez, this is sad. I had Spain as my favorite to win it all. I lived in Madrid for one year,.....yeah, there is a huge part of that city that loooooooves Franco, they still have all the power. This is a country that still haven't reconciled the scars of their civil war.
How dare you as a woman make demands for fair treatment!!! You will apologize and never again ask for anything!!! That’s pretty much how they were treated.
Shame on the Spanish Federation
It was the right decision. Back the coach. Now they’ve won the world cup
Reality check.
This is not about football.
There was a Civil War in Spain just before WWII and Spain was run by Nazi's and Fascists up until Franco in the mid 1970s.
They were (are) based in Madrid and their arch enemies (as far as they are concerned) are the Catalans.
This is what makes FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid the Clasico of sports Clasicos.
It doesn't appear to sit well with most [ex?] fascists in Spain [Madrid] that their great successes in European and World Football are owed to Catalonia and the Barcelona brigade -- Pep, Xavi, Iniesta, JordiA, Busi and, and, and....
They would rather lose than have to owe success on the women's side to another FC Barcelona brigade.
Unfortunately for Madrid, the women and trainers of Barcelona have created the greatest team of female footballers to have ever graced the planet.
At club level they season it with your Rolfo's and CGH's but, even without them, at national level they are unmatchable currently.
All that is required is a coach (a Tele Santana) that knows and is willing to be devoted to the magic playing potion and the players that know it.
No fascist Madridista can bare that so, even if the Barca crew and Co turned up, they would be poisoned and undermined by their own federation/manager.
This is what happened at the EUROs.
Spain played brilliantly without scoring while their best goal scorers -- Claudia Pina, Amaiur Sarriege, Jenni Hermosa -- watched from the bench or were sent home.
If Spain can't do it with Esther, Athenea or Olga Carmona, Spain will be happy not to do it -- so says the Federation and their lackeys.
So Spain wont do it.
Sad for the World but at least there's the Champion's League where we get to see the women's answer to the 1982 Brazil of Socrates, Zico, Falcao, Junior, Cerezo, Eder, and, and, and....
Ironically, those Brazilian's didn't get to win their World Cup (in Barcelona) either.
Legends should be steeped in mystery.
You're right to bring up the Madrid / Barcelona tensions (and the history behind it) as a factor in this fracture. I'd also mix in a healthy dose of patriarchal attitude found in the Spanish federation. How dare women speak their mind?

That's not how football works; this ain't baseball.
You can't chuck a bunch of "all stars" together and expect to beat a serious team in a serious match.
(Besides, I'd expect that Barcelona Femeni would beat the USWNT -- very comfortably.
For some time now, in the men's game as well and for obvious reasons, the highest level of the game is seen at the end of the UEFA Champion's League not the FIFA World Cup.)
Iniesta IS not from Cataluña Lil Bro

That's your problem, friend;
it's not where you're born or what colour you are,
it's where your heart places you.
All BS Politics, Underline racist/prejudice aside..Stop mixing emotions, social & politics etc..
With the beautiful game of football ⚽️ 💯
This will teach women in Spain to ever ask for anything again. God forbid if women ask for fair treatment or any pay raises. What do you think this is? A progressive country!!!!
