I worked as a drivetrain engineer for Case and have been involved in countless Carraro axle/brake rebuilds. I've never seen a Carraro axle disassembled vertically like this. This mechanic is extremely creative and capable!

Thank you for all the great information. I know nothing about being a real mechanic but really appreciate the time effort and detail you go into. I run road work machines for a living and work in the shop a couple days a month. Please keep making videos I watch them all the time you help me understand so much about the machines I'm running its incredible. Not that it directly applies to a wirtgen 7 foot mill, but its got 2 cummins engines in it and a diesel is a diesel is a diesel. Just thank you for spreading your knowledge and never holding back or with holding information. I truly enjoy your videos thank you for your time and effort it has helped me learn a huge amount.

You might want to contact BSFN Rail or U.P Rail they can point you in the right direction. I had a pick up truck shipped from Columbus Ohio to Stockton CA about ten years ago. It was cheaper than commercial truck. I used BSFN They took care of me and I was able to track the train and knew what rail car my truck was on. Good luck. Also I enjoy your videos you do fantastic work. Keep them coming. Be safe.

Don't get me wrong you obviously know what you're doing but I spotted two huge safety risks - dude you need to be more careful!!
First error was no supports for when you were under the machine. Just takes a hose to pop or a seal to fail and you're screwed. Supports went in later but you need them in straight away.
Second error was your crane brushing several times onto the power lines. Yes they're insulated but it's not good practice!
Peace dude but please take care.

I went full throttle for years and was in the hospital twice because I run myself completely out of gas. Got sick and then infection set in. Was not fun at all. The funny thing is I don't have anymore now then I did then. The X spent as fast as I could make it and the kids with the hands out. Now I'm a real prick because I quit filling up the hands and the X has moved on to a young stud that is dumb as I was at his age. Money will fuck a good day up real quick. Stop and take a nap and then sit on the front porch and drink a few dozen cold ones. It good for you once and a while.

At my garage it seems as though work goes in same types of spurts. Last week was transmission swap week. I had a week where I workec on about 10 cars and every one of them was repairing someone else's shitty job. One was the small crossover pressure lines on a power steering rack that rubbed on the dipstick tube. Another was a trailblazer with inline 6 engine. Had a tube for the heater core that started on left front of motor ran back and around bellhousing to the heater core. Well that tube has 2 tabs that go under the top 2 bellhousing bolts. Someone more than likelyt changed the transmission (4l60e) and installed top 2 bolts but not through the bracket so the tube rubbed on the manifold and put a hole in it. Only way to get the tube out is to pull engine or transmission. We JB Welded it and it lasted until her transmission went out durring last weeks transmission swap run.

That Vickers valve is a standard DO3. It should be pretty easy to match up unless it is some very special application requiring odd features like spring returned to A or B rather than centered with both off. I had one like that that took weeks to source and had to come through Ford ( working on an old CF7000 dual steering system) even though it was a Parker branded DO3 valve. Had I ordered it through a Parker distributor it would have cost even more and they would not even estimate an ETA to get it.

Hi Warren, I know exactly what you mean when it comes to getting tired and fed up. What pisses me off the most is when folk change their mind on projects/jobs/repairs and rates and then they pay fucking late because they pay two invoices when it suits them but they want work doing when it suits them. The result can then be that work piles up, you work seven days a week and you have no time for a break away from work and no cash to fund the repairs to do the job.

Anyhow, I figured out where he was up to and finished it up for him. Decided to run it up without the jake heads and sprayed oil all over the place, was dripping from the roof of the shed and all sorts!! Made a right mess. You live and you learn aye!

Always Figure 8 a chain around your Outrigger, Hook it up tite, THAT way it can't leak down, EVEN if you had a unpredictable thunderstorm come through. I had a friend, a Jack come down on him , AND killed him, I had another friend working under a dump truck bed, HE wasn't going to be under there very long, He should have safed it up , WITH a 4x4. And another timber, crossways, where the bed scissors in the back, To hold the bed up, but he accidentally, stepped on that emergency cable, that drops the bed, it come down on him before he could get out from under it, AND it cut him, into, they found him an hour or two later, Safety First, THERE'S no reason to be in that big a hurry,

I actually work for the railroad in Alabama. You'll do WAY better shipping just one piece over the road. if he bought 6 or 8 then it would be worth it. Otherwise id tell your friend not to waist his time, it would cost 10 times as much. Its different than shipping a vehicle by rail. One excavator will take an entire railcar and depending on its size it will be a specialized load which carries a higher cost. Also, with vandals it may arrive with all the windows busted out and be spray painted with graffiti.
