He is spot on - 'Today's politicians are too political' The house of commons should be a mobile free zone. Everyone constantly check emails from pressure groups, how there stocks are responding and getting the latest from the focus group. Put the blasted phone away and think what's best for the country. True democracy is dynamic. What was right yesterday may not be right today. A sober second look is always a good policy. Why does a woodworker measure three times then cut once??

"We are part of the same team, and malice towards none and Charity for ALL"? That must be how a woman like myself who worked damn hard straight from school a 40 hour week job for minimum age only(no child benefits or working tax credits) and paying All my meagre wages away in high illegal Poll and Council taxes for the right to No Family life of my own, was given the Charitable Sanctioned Jobseekers Allowance of £33.00 a week(£4.70 a day for 6 months) to live off of after working full-time for over 20 years, which really Fucked up my once good Heath and now I have a chronic health condition. Some CHARITY!!!!! Also "Today's politicians are too political"? What is the point of politics if those who preach it, do not practice what they preach! As Brecht rightly states, "The worst illiterate is the political illiterate.....he doesn't know the cost of life, the price of the bean, of the fish, of the flour, of the rent, of the shoes and of the medicine, all depends on political decisions. The imbecile doesn't know that from his political ignorance is born the prostitute, the abandoned child, and the worst thieves of all, the bad politician, corrupted and flunky of the national and multinational companies".

A fine example of elitesplaining from a high profile member of the PMCC (Political, Media and Celebrity Class). A fortunate individual, indeed: he sits in the Upper Chamber of the people's legislature without having to bother to garner so much as a single vote from the electors. And has the effrontery to lecture about the importance of democracy! The interviewer fails miserably to question this appalling hypocrisy. Moreover, his fellow member of the PMCC can barely control neither her anti-Brexit stance - and that of the disgracefully biased organisation for which she "works" - nor her disgust at the stupid, ill-informed, uneducated citizens who voted to leave.

A significant number of people stopped voting because they became disengaged, the times I heard the phase. particularly from the young "I don't do politics". This resulted in parliament and the media becoming disconnected from these non voters who were not reflecting their opinions at the ballot box. The only people voting were the tribals and the engaged, I heard someone from an ethnic minority saying that it had become common knowledge that all minorities should vote for the Labour party. Are our universities using their position of influence to pursue a particular political agenda? The brexit referendum reengaged a significant number of people who had never voted for a long time, the result shock and disbelief from the political and media class because they were living in a bubble called Westminster!

This class of people are are arbitrarily denied employment, safety net benefits, illegal surveillance and in extreme cases, separated from family & friends.
