  • Here we have Suzuki's muscle cruiser - 2007 Boulevard M109R. Its a brute, a bruiser and a very fun bike. Its looks unique, sounds amazing, has features of both a sportsbike and a cruiser and has a very muscular stance. Cruisin for a bruisin!
    Welcome to Bhroman Braapsody - your one stop shop for anything that goes BRAAAAP!!! Listen to the Braap, the cost of ownership, some cool facts and the Bhromance score.

    Had mine around 5 years now, for me it has the looks & performance for the perfect cruiser/sports crossover, if like me you’re looking for something that combines elements of both worlds. It’s not really at home being thrown around on the twisties, you have to plan corners ahead because of the length, low ground clearance and that massive rear tyre which wants to keep the bike straight, but once you become familiar with that it’s fine, and when you’re on the straight or wide sweepers it really comes into its own. You can roll on to accelerate from just about any gear, and the fuel delivery is so smooth. I actually love the seat and the riding position, with the forward leg combined with a more forward and “engaged” body position than a typical cruiser. I can sit on mine happily all day. The only change I would make if I could, would be to have ABS, but after one mishap I’ve got the braking figured… the weight distribution is very different to a sport bike, there isn’t so much of the weight already on the front wheel to be too aggressive with the front brake, so I always go 50/50 front and rear until the front wheel loads up and then continue progressively with the front to get the full stopping power. It’s kind of second nature now.

    Solid review, I have an M109R '07 LE. I think you hit all the high points. I really liked how you identified the Gixxer elements of the M109R

    I bought a 2017 M109r BOSS yesterday and I appreciate a few comments you made outside of being big and fast. Coming from a Suzuki M50 for 8 years and being 5'6", this would NOT have been a good first bike for a guy my size. I find I need to do a double take on vehicles before switching lanes as the handles bars impede my head turn a bit as I'm stretched out more then when on my Suzuki M50. Like a wild mustang horse, you need to control its size and power at all speeds but once you are on the road, its a dream. Everyone likes to focus on speed and torque but my justification is having the CCs to get out of trouble with the wife in the back on mountainous highways while battling wind.
    I appreciate your opinions mixed in with facts as the info was welcomed! Cheers!

    The bike you are showing in this video is NOT the M109R, it is the M90. The M109R is 400cc bigger, check out pics of the M109R it has a whole different engine/exhaust layout.

    I've been in the market most summer! Haven't seen the color scheme I want yet in my range. But i do see so many 06-2013s for sale. Alot of videos i see are of these years and seem to be running great? Is this bike literally ageless??

    • @DarkGMarine
      @DarkGMarine Před 3 měsíci

      @@ALEXdaG man i bought a 2015 at 6k miles. Put 3.5k miles on it and blew 3 clutches in that timeframe. Come to find out, people i took it into werent adjusting the clutch right. Did it myself a few times, kept slippin, sold that bitch and got a harley.
      I still feel like i would love the 9 if i didnt have one that was in the shop constantly or clutch issues. All that being said i'll probably get another one if i could🤣

    • @ALEXdaG
      @ALEXdaG Před 3 měsíci

      @@DarkGMarine I’ve dealt with clutch slip too. I think i turned back the set screw inside the clutch by less than a turn and adjusted my cable to have slop in it. For two quarters between where the lever is attached to the handlebar assembly so the entire pull of the level is friction zone. If i don’t do that then this bolt will break cables. Broke only two so far. No issues now. I prefer the Harley sound but the m109 is a bigger bike and fils me out perfectly being a tall guy. You could have kept it and just figure out the right adjustment. Annoying tho i know

    • @ALEXdaG
      @ALEXdaG Před 3 měsíci

      @@DarkGMarine also not torquing the screws for the clutch stack properly will cause slip and those bolts are easy to snap going too tight and use only Suzukis oil. It’s a mineral oil. The engine and clutch share the same cavity
