I feel like jimmy was stalling to dissuade some aggression from mel and craig. they were both pretty scary early on, and he just needed to bide his time, not play it aggressive and blow up the scary persons mana (if that was the plan, it worked perfectly)

Why should they regret naming the channel? The channel was for the podcast, and that remains absolutely, 100% EDH-centred. Nothing about 'The Command Zone' has ever changed. The mistake people made was assuming "Game Knights" (note: 'EDH' or 'Commander' is not a part of the "Game Knights" name) was actually a part of the podcast itself, when actually it is simply another series on a channel that already existed.
Many, MANY media ventures, most famously MTV, do not change their major branding just because they choose to add extra products. All people are doing is effectively the same as complaining about Apple Computers releasing a portable music player, or getting the series Breaking Bad from American Movie Channel. And that would be absolutely STUPID. As would be complaining about Game Knights being released alongside an EDH podcast, when the podcast you actually subscribed to never actually ever stopped being produced.
What exactly are you complaining about, other than your own distinct lack of understanding brands/sub-brands/widening of products?
If anything, having 2HG/Limited/supplementary product/etc formats doesn't contradict "The Command Zone" branding anyway, since if you aren't just a fanboy only getting into the EDH craze and don't know anything else about MtG, you'd know Commander was actually named AFTER the Command Zone, which exists in all formats. Not the other way around. So if you do wanna get tricky about definitions, at least know you're wrong when you say "Command Zone means Commander", uh no, it doesn't. Never has. It's simply another zone in all formats. "Command Zone" has only ever actually meant a non-'removed from game' zone in the game where some non-interferable-with cards are.
(Note: I'm not talking directly to the person I replied to - just anyone who does complain about Game Knights not being EDH. Go complain MTV doesn't show music videos anymore, instead; it's the same complaint, and actually far more relevant and valid, considering my point about Command Zone actually still existing in all games, whereas MTV DOESN'T play music videos anymore.)
I think what's being argued that on the Command Zone, specifically, Game Knights, is most well known for Commander, And when a certain number of episodes are commander, the expectation for the viewer is that continues to be the case. They are trying to win the audience, the audience isn't trying to win them.
Matthew Bowerman Except they explicitly stated over and over it was the other way around: they merely STARTED with EDH because that is what their podcast was about, but always, always intended for it to be a separate series that grew into more. The first few episodes were similar to the first few eps of sitcom spinoff; similar theme/subject to get you acquainted (in this case, on the same channel as an EDH podcast, it made sense to start with a few eps of EDH). So you're saying people are effectively complaining Frasier is not Cheers! I mean, there was an expectation set up that Frasier Crane preferred a local bar to coffee houses, yet no-one minded when Frasier started doing something different. Same thing here, according to your own logic.
Again: The main problem is no-one complaining understands how entertainment media product widening/spin-offs/whatever-you-wanna-call it actually work...if Games Knights itself ever became well-known for EDH, it's because its audiences clearly weren't listening to what they were explictly being told over and over in the intros/podcast/social media - "We have more than EDH planned for Game Knights". That was always the message. If people misunderstood that and had other expectations, it was their own stupidity and ignorance that led to those expectations.

Elijah M Thompson Oh, I get it was a joke in the episode; I was explaining that to the people who constantly complain about the fact and constantly try to turn it into a real, genuine insult to the producers of the show, which is undeserved. I totally appreciate the makers themselves joke, but a lot of complaints here are just simple, real complaints about a lack of EDH, a complaint based on their own misunderstandings. Also I ramble, but don't confuse long rambles about the logic of it being a spin-off with emotional anger/frustration about the issue - I ramble as much when I get asked what I want to eat! As another example - all you really presented was an ad hominem attack with not a lot to actually argue against in a way that's relevant, yet I still managed to type a whole paragraph! So, to answer your question as to what I'm doing with my life? Not insulting people, at the very least! (Also please don't worry about me wasting my time - I can type very fast. That said, this whole conversation, combined, took about 3 minutes of my life, while watching the episode, which means I'd have only been on this page anyway, so no extra time was wasted with this conversation at all, even if I typed slowly. Genuinely, thanks for caring though!)

Wish i'd seen Mel's reaction to Vorinclex before thinking "hmm this would go well with the stuff in my deck" - learnt pretty quickly this is not a card to play if you're just getting back into magic, if you want friends.
EDH/Commander is my favorite format, mostly because it seems to be more about casual fun, so I would have swung at everyone with the vampire tokens. It's more fun for me if it works, and it's more fun for my opponent(s) if they get to use cyclonic rift. I tend like those big magic moments regardless of who in my play group gets them. In short, more fun is more fun! Fortune favors the bold!

Looking back on it, Craig being knighted by the sword of feast and famine is pretty funny, because he is all about infect. Even in the recent episode hes a member of the Witherbloom college.

@Pariah I'd agree if she was playing anything really crazy. It was mostly mild slowdown. 1 counterspell in *that* many drawn cards, some stuff that slowed down a beat down, and a bunch of card draw that didn't result in much? I wish more Azorius players were that mild. Hell, she didn't even play her commander and her rhystic study netted like 2 cards.

I love the new animations. This is easily the Magic video series with the highest production value. You set the bar for what content creators can achieve.
MTG Mudstahh has great content too. The editing isn't flashy, but it's nice for people who really want to watch EDH. They don't cut to an interview about what EDH staples do every sixty seconds. Thats nice for beginners, but I don't need an explanation on what Land Tax or Consecrated Sphinx does, or to hear "Tribal cards get way worse when other cards of that type come out" or hear that death touch blockers are problematic for people who want to swing with big creatures, etc.
I am certainly not a beginner and I enjoy the interviews: They add a lot of personality.

I know this video is older but I never actually answered what I would’ve done prior to the cyclonic rift but for safety I would’ve just swung a ton at Craig to gain like a billion life
I think the correct answer would have been to swing at Craig with just three creatures, and maybe risk hitting Mel with two. All of the tokens having lifelink makes it hard to know if Jimmy would let the attack go, and not forcing the cyclonic rift out like he did would also mean it'd be a political tool, since he'd be saving everyone when he didn't have to

if you watch the episode jimmy uses his creatures to pay for a few abilities, now this wouldnt normally be a problem considering the enchantment he has out, but that enchant only lets the creatures tap for one not two
so there are a few times where he tries to use only one creature to pay for an ability that costs 2 and honestly if he didnt cheat he wouldnt have won
UndertaleSkeleBros Maybe it was a mistake?
I'd ask myself the following questions:
1) If he doesn't have it, does he stand a reasonable chance to win by you giving him an extra turn?
Since he's U/G, he probably doesn't have many other outs *besides* Rift. I don't see how he survives 110 power coming at him the next turn w/o Rift. He has Top and a bunch of engines, so he may be able to look at quite a few more cards. Let's assume there's maybe one other out in his deck. He's about 12% to see one of his two theoretical outs in 5 cards out of a ~80 card deck. So order of magnitude, I think you're >90% to win if he doesn't currently have it and you don't win this turn. Thus, I don't think you gain that much by closing the door on him this turn.
2) If he does have it, what play gives me the best chance to win, and how much does it matter?
If you attack him and he has Rift, he clearly casts it, you get to redeploy your mana, as shown on the video, but you're not really doing anything with it anyway.
If you don't attack him and he has Rift, he gets to essentially choose whether to cast the Rift now or to let you attack them and then. Without the tokens, his board looks much better than yours, while the other two players look pretty threatening, so if I'm him I probably let you wipe out Craig and damage Mel and then cast the Rift end of turn. He does have to worry about you gaining a ton of life, but we know he has Triumph of the Hordes, so that's not as big of a concern.
The biggest factor here IMO, then, is whether or not you want Mel and Craig alive in the situation where he has the Rift. Since to me it looks like you're dominated by Jimmy post-Rift, I think you want to force Jimmy to let Craig and Mel stay alive by casting the Rift pre-damage. As you mention in the video, this gives you the potential to rebuild while the other players attack each other. I think this is your best line to stay alive.
The last factors to consider of course are the odds that he does have the Rift -- but in this case it doesn't matter since either way the same play is superior -- and whether there are any longterm political implications to either play, but I don't see any notable ones here.
Thus, I'd attack Jimmy. But not because of what happens if he doesn't have it, but rather, what happens if he does.
I just got back into magic after a 4 year hiatus and I'm so glad I was able to find some friends to play with. I only have one deck right now that is the Adaptive Enchantments from Comm 18 pre con. Cannot wait to get more! Freaking love this game!!

I just wish she would pay more attention to other people's boards. She almost handed Josh the game and eventually handed it to Jimmy because she just wasn't seeing past her own board state to what other people had.

I put Vorinclex in most of my green commander decks. This guy is just all the value and fun. For me at least ;P
I would swing at Jimmy, the 1/100 chance of having that card, plus I'd rather force him to use it now.
There are about 5 of that effect in blue and he has drawn a ton of extra cards so the chance is much closer to 30-40% have it.
With the card draw and scrying, it's a much higher chance than 1%. (and the deck's 99 cards, not 100, so technically 1.01%)
derick moore Name another way that costs the same amount of mana and is an instant? They were specifically looking out for Cyclonic Rift. Yeah, Jimmy mighta had a card that saved HIM, but not one that saved everyone.

Andrew Sparkes echoing truth is another answer. Cryptic command to tap his board when he goes to combat. Quicken + so many cards. There are so many ways in just blue. Green has a billion fog effects several of which would work great with merfolk by leaving the attacking creatures tapped for an extra turn so merfolk can swing in for the win. I run blue green control I'd guess 1/3 of my deck would of stopped him in that board state. There are so many good blue/green cards for that situation.

I would’ve attacked Mel and Craig only because then there would be a chance of gaining up to 110 life which would force the action anyway
