    You're now so experienced and knowledgeable with these e-bikes that you could open your own shop, Laycee! I had never heard of a "cruise control" on an e-bike before, but it makes sense. I'm curious to try that. I really like the pannier bag for the rack. I know my wife couldn't handle this bike's design because she needs a step-through. It was probably the camera's field of vision, but I can't believe you didn't hit some of those trees on the trail! Made me wince to watch you snake your way through them!

      Thank you Mark! We learn more with each review.
      We regularly decline step-over reviews because we are trying to highlight bikes which serve the widest audience. That is why you see so many step-throughs on MGE. The Engwe price point and versatility of this bike go a long way to making up for some noise, crude welds, and step-over form factor.

    I liked Your honest review especially about getting on the bike as my wife and I are in our 70s and it wasn’t easy but once you get on it’s great! We bought two of them with $100 off to get an orange one for a total of $1800 for the pair. We just took then on a camping trip. I folded them to get them into my truck because I also had wood in there, but on the way home from the trip, I was able to just keep them assembled and load them in. However, they are very heavy. I took the batteries out when they were folded because they weigh almost 10 lbs ea and that still made the bike over 64 lbs. which is quite heavy, Two people would be easier to load them. And as far as your speedometer being off, are you sure it wasn’t on km instead of mph because ours came out of the box on kilometers per hr and we had to change it.
    There are some trails that you cannot take this bike on because it’s a Class 3 and I read that this bike is not legal in Great Britain at all because it goes too fast!
    All in all, we love our bikes and the battery last forever it seems, and we don’t have the one you have from the pro model. Also, now that we’ve been riding it a while, I can put the key in without getting down just by feeling which direction the slot is.

    I have the same. I notice your handlebars are sloping backwards, I installed mine sloping forwards being taller and it's perfect. I definitely recommend upgrading the brake calipers to cable operated hydraulic ones, cheap and easy upgrade to do. :)

      When we published the video, we added information about the handlebar stem angle in the description. The variability is very nice and it would be super if Engwe would include that in the user manual. Hopefully our description has been helpful.
      We haven't performed any upgrades on this bike, but we have reviewed several dozen other eBikes. Many of those have hydraulic brakes and we sure do appreciate the extra stopping power. Feel free to watch out other eBike reviews at:

    My only concern with the EP-2 Pro, given my aging joints during the harsh Scottish winters, is the step-over height. And, wouldn't you know, it takes a woman to notice such a potential deal breaker. Why does nobody else talk about these things? Excellent review, and more to think about.

    Just one comment. You accidentally put the steering up tube backwards, but is was good for you. It is angled closer to you to be able to reach the handle bars easier. The stock way is with the up tube to be angled away from you....

    Thanks Laycee, A Keyed Switch is Great! Many bikes can be ridden away without a key...I like Engwe folders a lot! Does the price you mention include the battery upgrade? A good seat post suspension might help this bike . Have you tried them?

    • @MissGoElectric
      @MissGoElectric  Před rokem +1

      We dig folding eBikes too.
      The price we list is the standard price. These videos are live for a long time as various deals come and go. We are generally in favor of outfitting eBikes like this with the largest battery a buyer can afford...or snagging a spare if you think you might use it for camping.
      We use suspension seat posts on a few of our ebikes and have featured them in other videos. We mention them when the bike company offers them as an accessory. Engwe doesn't.

    Good steady flow of the bike. But some points of the Bike was pretty much straight forward from what Engwe advertised. The graphics and color of the bike is displayed on the website. If the color or graphics of the bike isn't what you wanted why did you get that color? The set up of the throttle and the settings were a little challenging but I figured it out. I had done weeks of research from other manufactures or companies plus reading tons of reviews before I bought my e bike . You will almost never find a e bike that's perfect for what you pay for it.

      I have an Engwe ep2 pro and a Lectric Xp and these bikes are not comparable to one another. The lectric even though it's a 500 watt motor is a real 500 watt motor and Lectric uses quality battery cells do even though my lectric is a 10 ah battery it lasts longer than my 13 ah Engwe. Engwe lies about the 750 watt motor which to be honest feels like a 350 watt nominal with a max of 750 . I also do not like the throttle being set to the pas speeds which makes it not a throttle but a cruise control only.
      I enjoy the Engwe on flat ground to ride around but I honestly would not purchase another one. Lectric is way more powerful and built stronger. Those 3 thin pipes that connect the frame to the back wheel on Engwe have me worried also. I don't know why they made such an important safety feature so thin . I am 250 pounds and those small thin pipes worry me when hitting a bump or a pot hole .
