I started with a folder that had a 500-watt brushed motor. I now have a brushless 500-watt rear hub motor folder. I think it's a world of difference in power, torque, distance, and very quiet at lower speeds. I love the engine pro. I hope to have one soon.

I got one for Nine hundred, direct from Engwe and its AWESOME! I tweaked the controller, easy to do, google it up and get to ripping it up! I changed the seat post to a shock absorber for extra cushion. I changed out the handlebars and folding stem for BMX and a no fold stem. I ditched the folding peds and got some narly shoe grabbers. My Bike ROCKS and is POWERFULL after I tweeked the controller to give me maximum output, super fun to jump and rip on trails! I paid about 6 bills less than the Letric XP was running at the time I got it so I grabed a spare battery and did those upgrades. I am completely satisfied with my 750W Engwe. My next updrage will be a rear sprocket for more speed on the streets! Get one if you can, you will love it!

Wow, I just came across this CZcams video titled "Letric" and I must say, I'm quite impressed with the content you've created! As an avid e-bike user, I'm always on the lookout for innovative and game-changing products. Speaking of which, I recently stumbled upon a new crowdfunding project called freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. It's absolutely fascinating how this e-bike can be charged when used indoors! The combination of outdoor exploration and indoor fitness is truly revolutionary. The brushless 750W motor, 80Nm torque, and top speed of 20mph are outstanding features that make this e-bike a force to be reckoned with. The 80mm front suspension and puncture-resistant fat tires ensure a smooth and comfortable ride on any terrain. Additionally, the ability to generate CO2-free mileage from indoor workouts is a remarkable sustainability feature. I'm truly excited about the possibilities this e-bike offers and can't wait to learn more about freebeat Morph by supporting the project!

nice review ! AS a die hard e-commuter , its nice to see they are getting the range better on these for the price. i have built several bikes and a couple trikes ( my current one is a beast!). its a nice prebuilt for the price it seems, looking forward to a range test tho. my trike is a direct drive 48v 1500w fat tire , front suspension and disk , i built my 72v 32ah battery from flatpack cells , i get around 50 miles on mine per charge on just front motor ( throttle only and usually full throttle @ 45mph flat ground no wind 7-10 psi all the way around) with the 3000w rear motor engaged i can get in trouble quick ! 62.7 mph! and only 20 mile range. but i have around 2k invested in mine. so for the price point you mentioned , 30mph and that kind of range is awesome!

  • @marcin_karwinski

There are a few things they should've considered longer before its release...
    1) why no internal tubing/cable routing? If this is an off-roady bicycle, this should be the choice...
    2) given the cost of this thing, this should've come with a torque sensor - it'd do wonders to perceived power on tap... and be more frugal with the power draw...
    3) since this thing flies with the cage so low above the ground, this really should've come with clutched/springed dérailleurs to keep the chain in place, or...
    4) given the torque and peak power, and the folding factor, I wonder if a single speed with belt drive wouldn't be better... less things to crash into ground placed obstacles on the sides, less things to misalign upon transport when folded, less things to potentially stick dirt on you during folding or transport, less maintenance hassle...
    5) and then they could put the levers as European and American riders expect them - right side for rears, left side for fronts... Heck, split the useless horn with the throttle, or better yet, drop it altogether and make it torque sensing pedal assist only and put a regular bell on the bar... simpler, and they wouldn't have to worry about any laws banning throttle actuated e-bicycles from bicycle routes or of requiring bike drivers licence...
    6) The key placement is pretty bad in the long run... it really should have been changed to not require the key in all the time you ride it, to get proper covers and water/dust sealing over it and the charge port. Better yet, it should've been moved away from that location to somewhere higher/safer/easier to reach/use, or not require the key in for ignition...
    7) I know it's built to last, but the weight is still very considerable, almost to its detriment... at this 35 kilos or more I doubt regular foldable users would actually consider it for the bulk and weight, so folding factor would be useful for long-term storage only, and in some very rare situations to pack it and drive it somewhere before taking it out of a car's boot. If it were 25 kilos it'd be far more manageable, if they gave this engine and battery to a sub 20 kilo bike they'd make best of the breed ;) but at the nearly 40 kilos it's not good for carrying up or down multiple flights of stairs, or for putting it in and out of a car boot... plus, this weight and gearing make it very hard to ride properly without any pedal assistance...

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. czcams.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

I've had electric drills, leaf blowers, trimmers, and this year got a battery powered lawn mower. I'm really glad I made the switch. Quiet, powerful and no engine oil or air filters to change. Times are a changin.

@@familybusiness1417 Bottom line, it's all a talking point. Truth is, over 75% of all electricity comes from oil, gas, and coal fired power plants. Also, The present 'grid' can't handle summer and winter extremes. It sure can't handle everyone in America charging electric cars... I'm a retired electrical contractor and have helped build 4 power plants. 3 rand off natural gas and 1 ran off city dump methane mixed with 20% natural gas. Windmill generators' manufacturing requires 10 times the energy in mining, smelting and casting those blades than the avg life of those generators will ever save on 'greenhouse gases'. Same with Nuclear power plants, and solar power. Water is the only clean fuel as it's exhaust is steam... But the Oil corporations kill off the inventors and buy up the patents.

Wen you say "At $1500 this bike packs a lot of features" there's a reason for that - it's made in China. And the sticker on the top housing that reads, "Build-in Energy Recovery" is just too comical.
If you're looking for something to ride for a year or two then toss, go for it because these PRC-based bikes are known for being cheap quality AKA landfill-ready. If you don't have a lot of disposable cash, at least do yourself a favor right from the beginning and first ask a local bicycle shop if they will even work on this thing when it starts to fall apart. You might be surprised why most of them won't even touch it.

I would take a look in just about everything electrical you purchase . It will have PRC parts inside . No getting away from it . Why are US vehicles so cheap ? . because they are built to fall apart so that you buy new .. It's not rocket science

Really dumb comment. Idd almost all bikes are made in China. The reason is that they are really good at it. The idea that China produces low quality producst is something of the past (ask Tim Cook at Apple) The only difference is that the quality control is not that great. Chances that you end up with issues straight from the factory is higher and there is almost no customer support. So if you have issues you have to deal with it yourself.

I bet you own some Chinese products. Hehe. Had my Engwe bike for 2 years and it's solid. And guess what? American products are shit! Asian products are way better. Easier access to component parts and those parts are super cheap.

@@1122stardust Yup, I do and did. And 99% of that PRC stuff; tools, furniture even clothing have been some of the worst I paid for. Bought a shop chair made in China, two wheels fell off right out the box, and even after some repairs the thing would never roll level because the welds were awful. Tossed it and bought a chair made in Germany, that thing rolls straight down the street all day long.
Chinese apparel rarely fits, some shitty stitching and fabric quality with pockets that always come apart at the edges, Nike and Sketcher Chinese-made sneakers never fit. Now I buy Under Armour made in Vietnam that fit almost perfect. Every sneaker.
Bought a reciprocating saw from Harbor Freight, which sells primarily Chinese garbage, it stopped working after about 2 months of very light use. Just click, click, click. Went to Lowes and found a Milwaukee Sawzall "Made in USA" and used it to remodel 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a two-dog dog house. A years worth of heavy work and it's still going. My neighbor bought a Ryobi rolling toolbox with some jank plastic wheels the same day I bought that Sawzall, handle broke off just pushing it out his shed. Made in China. The next day he bought a Milwaukee Packout with rubber wheels made in Israel and a year later it's still rolling fully loaded.

There are 10-15 of engwe bikes. And it's all broken. Brake system display, chains, footrest, motor, controller. Nothing remains intact. Service support is unbelievably bad. They cannot solve problems. The Chinese company sells bikes for cheap, but definitely don't buy it. Bicycles break down in the rain. I don't know what to do, I think I'm going to throw it all away.
