Don't forget to check your tire oil
and the blinker fluid
You’ll also need to get your de-railer transmission checked every year or so.
@@richardsantiago3923🤣😂🤣😂
Don't forget to oil your brakes
Don't forget the suspension
That's why I always buy the premium air. Lasts way longer before expiring.
I like to inflate my tires with Helium…
That Pier'Air from " Space Balls"movie 🤓👍
@@leedanielson7452why do that, when you could use hydrogen 🎈🔥
@@leedanielson7452Nos, then tend to go faster less vibration too
No such thing genius
Not pumping up your tires will force your batteries to work harder, according to my bike retailer and she said the eye watering costs of a new battery should encourage everyone to maximize their longevity.
I have an e scooter and 100% it feels like the battery is almost dead if the tires are low even with a full battery. (I get faster acceleration on a full battery)
Yes, but it also helps prevent getting a pinch flat. Getting a flat tire will end your ride immediately!
why would it force your batteries to work harder?
@@hugejackedman1951 Too low tire pressure = higher rolling resistance. Makes both you and your batteries work harder (assuming you are pedaling)
@@dperreno higher pressures can increase rolling resistance too. it's not so simple as higher pressure=faster bike
Some common mistakeS
- check your tire presure weekly.
Ok how about the other mistakes ?
Especially those related to E bikes ?
Never drain the battery bellow 20%. Generally as you go bellow 50% you are reducing the life of the battery significantly
They make different noises relative to their pressure. Train your ear to this, and you'll know when to use the pump... to save your legs.
the best tip if you are riding a bike or e bike is always pay attention becouse not everyone on the roads or crossing the roads do that.
i was very young about 14 and i was out on my bike and a woman with a push chair just came out from between parked cars right in front of me and i hit her and knocked over the push chair luckyly i was going slow and no one was hurt apart from me and i was devestated and aplogising profusly but the woman apologised to me for not looking first.
so what i am trying to say is you may think you cant hurt anyone with a bike and that is very very wroung at the very least you can hurt yourself.
the roads are a dangerous place never forget that.
Not pumping up the tires also doesn't work so great for cars. The high-horsepower engine will compensate without you noticing though.
Yes, you will degrade the trees faster, get more punctures, waste gas and provoque uneven tread wear that can be dangerous in wet roads. It also will be noisier.
e
Well you only need to worry about pumping car tires on old cars that have no tire pressure sensors but for new cars they all have TPS monitoring system so once that orange symbol comes up you have to pump. Other than that no. Also, Costco offers hydrogen air vs gasoline station air pressures that are either broken or their meter doesn’t work. Hydrogen air last longer.
@@TheHailstorm77 hydrogen? I think you mean nirtogen

Alternate Title: Every Bike Rider Should Know THIS
E-bike rider might not think of themselves as bike rider. They might come from completely other disciplines, e.g. motorcycle riders.
PS: I liked your comment.
I tried to check the air in my tires at least once a week, usually on the weekend. They only needed topping up about once a month or so (more often in the winter).
the best advice should be just check tire pressure before you set out and inflate as needed.
I check my bike tires before every ride, especially long distance so I know if something is wrong before i’m on the trail.
I just like to feel the pressure with my hand, and then pump them up of needed.
Yeah, I think this advice is more for people who are shifting from car to ebike, not previous riders.
It also depends on the kind of roads you ride on. In our semi-rural area, the road surface is quite rough. Pumping the tyres up hard results in an uncomfortable ride.
The knowledge you share is very useful.
You may not have to change the air in your tires, but you should always keep your blinker fluid topped off.
Yep. I recommend pumping up your tires weekly if you can remember to. Before every ride if you have a road bike.
If it's a new day, I check the tire pressure, brakes, drive chain, and lights. Five minutes is most worth the piece of mind
Don’t forget to change out your brake fluid once a week..
@leedanielson7452 I have a friend that drinks break fluid. We all say he's addicted but he says he can stop any time he wants 🫠
It's called a "circle check" and yeah it should be done before each ride.
@@daveassanowicz186 Yum! They say it’s good for your skin…
@@leedanielson7452why on earth would you want to change the brake fluid once a week?! I would assume you’d likely never have to change it on a bicycle since it’s not going through a pump and as such will never “burn”…🤷🏾♂️
in my opinion (especially on noncargo e-bikes) people overdo it with the tire size. a thinner tire is more future-proof as you can put them on a bus rack, giving them more versatility, and making them better car replacements. the only time it's somewhat necessary is on a cargo bike, or if you live somewhere it snows more than 2-3 weeks out of the year.
I have an electric compressor. I check my tires and add air before every ride.
I got an electric air pump for my tires where it cuts off as soon as the desired PSI is hit. I tend to use it to make sure my tires are up to pressure every few weeks and that has worked out for me.
After cycling commuting for some years, I read that I should have been pumping my tires up every week, so I started checking my tyre pressure and found that monthly was generally fine.
I've heard a good rule of thumb: pump up your tires every time you ride but if you ride everyday or almost every day, once a week is fine
Thank you for the advice. “Change the air in tires” 🤣
I pump my tire twice a day(before and after use) to make sure the tire pressure is always good! 👍🏾
every day i check mine, and every 3 months i bring my bike to service
i check my tire pressure on my E- Bike before i commute ! which is everyday
pumping tired in general with all bikes helps a lot
My trick is Tannus armor + Flat Out. I pump my plus-sized tires every 2-3 months and it's fine. Even if I let it go a bit long, the Tannus armor gets me where I'm going and I can just pump it up when i get back.
Weekly is insane. You can also just look at you tires and see how much they squish compared to when they are full. If it becomes to much it is time to add air.
Check the feel of them when you go to ride and top off the air when they feel low.
On ragbrai I pumped the tires every day. Was riding at 65 lbs and they would drop to 52 lbs or so in 24 hours.
I check my tires more often then I used to, mainly due to my ebike having fat tires. The tires themselves are 50 bucks and up each, they're nylon not rubber and have a limit of 20 psi per tire, electric pump reads me the psi and automatically shuts off once the goal is reached.
Thanks ; good advice . . . Unless driving on sand or soft land. It preferred to flat tires a little bit .
If your tires are rated for low pressure, but check the tire
What's the other five???
When I got my ebike it felt like I had a flat tire when I had the motor off. Turns out I did have really low air pressure but didn't notice!
Just check the PSI before you leave
Depending on the quality of your inner tube you should check it everytime if you have cheaper ones. 😊
Thank you for sharing.
Very nice thanks 💯
Make sure to get premium air as well, makes all the difference!
I pump my tires once 2-3 weeks, it works pretty good for me
I Pump up my e bike tires as often as I do with my beach cruiser.
And also dont forget to change your pedal fluid
honestly, if you are just commuting in the city with a non-racing bike, you can probably get away with pumping air every few months 🤷
Not an electric bicycle since they're way heavier and it's the entire point of this video😊
@@Murillos1 no, my ebike is 65lbs & i only use it to go to work or the shops & i haven't had to inflate the tires once in the month and a half I've owned it. I check the tires almost daily & they're still stiff & don't need to be reinflated yet
@@LilChuunosuke It all depends on the type of tire, size, and brand of course.
One would still have to check the PSI on a weekly basis regardless.
@@Murillos1 oh i definitely agree with all that. I just agree with Georg in that its inaccurate to say you have to pump them every week. But i absolutely agree that you should CHECK them every week to see if they need to be pumped!
I pump e er few months about 0.2 bar
I always give my rubber a squeeze b4 leaving..you can get pretty used to the proper firmness to where i can tell my tire is low just by touch
Every time you go out. Put new air in with the old air. I like this new rule. I’ll be fully adopting this practice come spring.
Yes, I run tubeless and probably add pressure once a week, I puncture the tires constantly and looze a few psi usually before the sealer does its thing.
"if there's one thing i taught you to REPLENISH"
You pump up your tires when they get low. You *check* them every ride. If you have a small leak that means you pump them up every ride. I haven't touched mine in the last 3 months/5,000km because they're holding air just fine.
Honest Question: I'm looking at buying an ebike to drive from The Philadelphia area to Seattle Washington. How often would I need to fill my tires with that kinda use?
I heard that if you use a regular old pump that you can detach the parts from then you can fart into the pump and then use that air to fill your tires.
Supposedly that'll give you a lighter ride as it's lighter a gas than air is.
Don't forget blinker fluid
I bike everyday and check my tires twice a week
Full tires roll SO much easier, further and faster. Yes.
it depends. but lower pressures are usually more efficient
I bought these tyre pressure monitoring kit comes with a screen and stuff really good got warning signals all that good stuff
Yes, check the air in your car every month as well. Bikes and motorcycles more often because they hold less air.
i have pressure sensors from aliexpress, hehe
5.1 bar for 37-622, after 1 month theyre just above 4 bar and its time for joeblow to give them some air
My husband taught me to keep the tires aired up.
From 🇸🇪
Thank you.
Lol an old dude stopped me last week like please put air in that bike tire 😂 in my heart I just knew he knew what he was talking about
Pump up and check your pressure every ride.
I just check my tires the old fashioned way, by grabbing the side and feeling how much air is there relative to being fully pumped.
This guy reminds me of the barista at Starbucks that talks funny 😂
Better traction with totally flat tires. Also need make sure you have the spokes installed on the wheels so they will rolll . If in doubt check for tpms low air pressure alert illuminated
The other common mistake is riding on the wrong side of the road
I end up pumping my bike tires every week or two. I'm also pumping my Tesla's tires about once a month or two, those I have to keep between 42 and 48 psi (45 ideally) for optimum efficiency.
You pump up the tyres when they need it
How about checking the pressure first
Not a cyclist but i pump up my car tyres once a week on Fridays 👍
What were the “6” things?
You're totally right on that, but it's so much easier for you guys in the US. Here in Europe, especially in Belgium, the air is so polluted that it actually eats the rubber of the tire from the inside out, which can be very inconvenient when you're in a hurry, because there's no way you can see this nuisance coming. Always a gamble. Changing tires on a regular basis is our only option. We call it the Belgian drag...😨
Kit pump up you tires every time.Check you tires pressure to make sure it is where it needs to be.Fluoride in the water is the problem.
One pump section a week or 3 days
Get a Dunlop Electric PSI Rechargeable one.

Says all common.
What about if my tyres are in a warm garage before I leave into the cold. Should you change the air 🤔 😆
Anecdotal, but my fat tire bike seems to hold on to it's air for a very long time. I guess it makes sense since it's a lot of volume and only 20 psi. I used to check it nearly every time I went out but I usually do it just once a month now and it *maybe* is at 19 psi.
My other bike that is 35-50 psi needs to be pumped basically every ride tho.
Blinker fluid
Why are long distance, 10 speed or hybrid style electric bikes with high pressure tires and no suspension not available?
With ebike you barely have to pedal so it really doesn't matter if your tire gets a bit soft.
This video holds great wisdom, what would we do without these wise words. Rarely seen such an underwhelming video
Also need to lube the chain
Tire pressure is IDENTICAL to suspension tuning. Too hard or too soft is inefficient.
No mention of Blinker fluid? 😂
use a tire pressure calculator. most people over inflate their tires which makes for a slower and uncomfortable ride
Beacause ebikes is much more heavier thsn normal bikes
I check tires no matter what
Low pressure is a big cause of flat tires, if your pressure is too low the tire can move and it ends up moving the tube and then the valve stem gets a tiny break and leaks. If it's too low every time you leave from a standstill or hit the brakes hard it could happen. A good tire and rim should gave grip on the bead that prevents that movement but it's possible. Also the tube can get pinched if it's too low. Plus you can put more strain on the drivetrain if your rolling resistance is higher.
lower psi should mean less rolling resistance not higher
I just commented on a kid jumping his e bike the rear tire was riding real low and he almost piched his sidewall on a landing. Low tires will absolutely decimate your range and top speed.
The major mistske is that people dont want to use the pedals
Maybe check the pressure first.
This is just common sense from times gone
Damn probably would have save me like 6 tubes this year
I generally add air every hour….
You mean i didnt need to replace the winter air with summer air in my tires 😮
I'm always running out of blinker fluid
Just feel your tyre if it feels low on air pump it up its that simple
Pump your car tires once a month
But get it too hard and ride quality will be diminished with a bumper ride, less grip, slower breaking and you'll ware out the centre of the tyre faster. Low pressure is worse though but you should easily be able to tell if they're too low !
Don’t forget blowing your tires with your mouth is different from pumping air!
I see one tip, where's the others?
