The goat....it was an honor to grow up watching MJ. Youngsters will never understand
Grew up in Chicago. Lived there until I was 27, when I moved out to the Western Suburbs (about 25 minutes away, so still close).
I was 10 when the Bulls Drafted him, and it was right at that time that I began playing organized Basketball for my Grade School, then Junior High and High School.
It is impossible for me to accurately describe how much of a God he was (still is) to all of us kids in Chicago. That's not to say that the adults didn't love him, too! They most certainly did.
However, just speaking as it was for me and my friends when we were kids...
He was God. He was EVERYONE'S HERO!
Legend doesn't doe it service. He is so much more than that.
I was also fortunate enough to have seen him and the Bulls play LIVE, first at the "old barn", the Chicago Stadium (so loud, especially during Blackhawks games, and ANY Playoff game, Bulls or Hawks.), and then at tithe United Center (The House That Michael Built).
I got to see him play Live around 70 - 80 times. A lot of that was between 1986 and 1991, the First Championship.
5 Playoff Games I was at, as well.
NOTHING will ever surpass those Bulls Teams ever again.
NOBODY will EVER even come close to being on MJ's level.
He is the GOAT.
THE. GOAT.
PERIOD.
Losing record vs Isiah Thomas. Isaiah had a winning record over Bird and Magic too. Not for the phantom foul Isiah is a x3 Champion.
I mean, ok, but saying Thomas had the better record doesn't really tell the tale. Lets say you switched Jordan and Thomas. With Jordan, the pistons would have run the east for a decade. I can't imagine how effective Jordan would be if he was on the Pistons from 85-90. Concersely, Thomas, all time great though he is, does not win a ring with the Bulls. Him and Pippen would likely be perennial runners up in the East.
Not a slight on Thomas, its just that he was surrounded by an excellently built team. While Jordan had nothing until he got Pippen, and once Pippen was Pippen, it was a wrap. Only reason anyone else got rings was Jordan took a brief rest.
But the Michael Jordan averaging 37-8-8 on a team built like Detroit? Holy crap that would just be unfair.
It's hard to describe.
@@Will-fk2dk I was 9 when he was drafted in 84 and saw his entire career with the Bulls. I lived in New York but we had one of those 6 foot satellite dishes that got every channel back in the day. I only missed a hand full of games.
No Jordan fan. But he is, quite simply, the goat. Never lost an NBA Finals. Won a 3peat, stept away from the game, came back, won a 3peat again. 6 times NBA Finals MVP. 10 scoring titles. NCAA champion, 2 times Olympic champion. Defensive player of the year. 2 time slam dunk champion. 3 times steals leader. The man could play offense as well as defense. To me, there is no comparison.
As a huge Jordan fan growing up l loved the way he played the game I wish the NBA today was like that unfortunately everyone wants their own shot & don’t play any defense
100% right ...they never understand
I miss that years ...don't sleep waiting for the games ...I'm from Portugal sow the game normally it during the latte night ...
Man...I don't now about MJ because off nike ...I now about NBA BECAUSE OFF MICHEL JORDAN ...AKA THE GOUT
💯
Badboyz
In 1997, I flew to Chicago from Melbourne Australia just to see the Bulls and Jordan...by myself...was there 2 nights! Was friggin amazing! Sat 12 rows from the front baseline. One of the best things I have ever done! People thought I was crazy! Those same people kicking themselves now they didnt join me! I should have stayed for a week and gone to a couple more games...my only regret!!!
Love this
Hell yea
Respect 🫡
Greatest of all time.
He was my hero as a youngster in the 80s! Quite frankly, he was the best there ever was and ever will be. The vision, style, grace, passion, ability. I can go on and on. Every game was a highlight reel. If you don’t believe me, pick a random game from the 80s or 90s and watch him from start to finish. Every time he touches the ball there’s potential for an amazing play. I felt spoiled and privileged as a stupid teenager watching him; I knew even then to savor this once in a lifetime talent.
The idea that MJ had a lack of a three-point shot is just ridiculous. It wasn't as big a part of the NBA game when he played, but if it were he would have dominated that, too.
Yeah teams were too busy trying to dominate inside. They didn't just walk it up the floor and hurl a 3pt attempt they would've been benched so fast and probably lose playing time. It was bigs and defense ,inside out basketball, and when it was played well ,it was perfection
true. 3 point line was fully implemented 1986 in college, he was drafted to NBA 1984 --- technically, his college career developed everything aside from 3 pointer because they had none. and to rain it with 3 pointers DURING A FINALS GAME JUST TO PROVE A POINT IS AWESOME!! Killing you with what you deemed his weakness with the confidence to WIN
Nah, he was bad at it. And back then, everyone knew it. Now, everyone gives him the benefit of the doubt. But he wouldn't be good at it today either, rim height hasn't changed. Jordan also got to play with the 3 point line moved in and one year shot 50% from 3 because he only attempted 2. His 3 numbers are misleading.
@@Exposetheluciferianagenda there's just too many of em who never saw....like that guy👆. It's just too bad they didn't see it real time and have money against him
They could make one of those "reaction videos " about it
I honestly remember MJ being a 3 point threat throughout his whole damn career. Never once did I think he wouldn't have a chance at draining a triple at ANY given moment. His penis was just THAT dark.
The reason why I started playing basketball as a teenager and throughout my life 😁
Air Jordan GOAT 🐐
Magic Johnson's passion for talking about basketball is unmatched
🤣
MJ's career was a highlight real from his first game to the last. It's tough to define greatness, but it's easy to spot it when you see it. I never cared for BB until he came along; for me, he is the best BB player I ever saw.
Barry Bonds had to be the most feared hitter we've ever seen or has ever played. Even in 1998 during the HR chase & before all of the crazy stuff, he was intentionally walked with the bases loaded. I had never seen that before.
He lost a lot of athleticism after his 10th yr
Not only the goat of basketball but the greatest athlete of all time.
I am a huge MJ fan. Bo Jackson is the greatest athlete I have ever seen. Herschel Walker, Deion Sanders are awesome too!
I’d have to respectfully say Tom Brady. Trust me a huuuuge MJ fan but 7 Super Bowl rings. The nfl is a difficult difficult game
@@SVTJD Leadership is not athleticism. One is a physical attribute, the other a mental attribute (Larry Bird was an awesome leader, Danny Ainge an athlete, three sport all American in high school). Reggie White was 6 foot 6 inches, 300 pounds and could run a 4.6 40 yard dash, pure "athlete". Reggie probably could outrun both Ainge and Bird, yet they had more rings( Tom Brady too). Bo Jackson was a freak of nature. Pure athleticism.
Agree, MJ had more of a worldwide impact than anyone else mentioned in this thread , NFL does not require as much of an individual effort as basketball or intense and Tom Brady was nowhere near as explosive or intense as MJ
"Let the game come to you." Words for anything in life.
Can't say it enough MJ 🐐!!!
I’m just so grateful I grew up watching him play. No one could ever come close since. Now the game is all soft and just missed the real battle in the paint. The physicality of it made a real gladiator event in the paint. The swagger. The intensity. I miss all that
💯
Watching his final game as a Bull live is the moment I'll never forget.
Yea as much as I hated him then as Bad Boy fan Hats off to 23 in Red Wow Those were the Days ill never forget!!
#33 Scottie Pippen is The of Championship ! Scottie Pippen is Better than jordan.
MJ is the GOAT to me and it will be hard to ever change my mind on that.
MJ is a rare combination of a NBA player who enjoyed great team success along with individual dominance in his prime.
The competitive fire and skill level is unmatched in my opinion.
Broooo, MJ is and will forever be the GOAT!!! Do you realize he came out of college after his junior year, missed a season because of a broken ankle, missed 2 seasons cause of baseball......in other words add another 6 or 7 seasons to his stats and legacy!!! What NOW??? Jordan GOATTTTTTT
6 seasons averaging 30 points and defensive stats....how many more MVPs and Championships are we looking at.....his stats would be untouchable and let's NOT mention the Eras he played in and would've played in now where the league is offensive orientated
Don’t shy away and say “to you” he is the GOAT. Jordan IS THE GOAT. It’s no debate. He could do whatever he wanted even with multiple defenders. He did it at the time when going to the hoop would, could and did draw blood. No Lebronsy flopsies.
@@DanielGarcia-ir8oe i admire you my man!!!!! God damn right JORDAN is the goat, never seen him then go check ANY of his videos.....College, Olympics, NBA.....any one of them will leave you speechless!!!!
I'm not sure what you mean by 'team'. He won the games.
Number one has to be the 63 against the 86 Celtics . One of the best teams ever , and a young MJ comes and puts down 63 , against Bird and the Celtics . Unreal .
IN Boston, too. That fact absolutely adds to it.
That was a Jordan who had just come back from almost a year off with injury.
@@monolithgeometry3221 nah, he played the way Doug Collins wanted . That was his coaching style give the ball to MJ . But I agree ultimately it didn’t help the bulls win . It was Tex and Phil who knew how to coach to win , or course they had pippen and good role players by then too.
@@Chevy-hw6lw the bulls roster was trash tho they wasn’t even relevant until he got there
Seriously? Whatre u smoking?
They guarded shit outa the rest of the team. Celtics even said nah we knew he aint gonna win on his own. They didnt waste time.
Look at the intro clip. Larry bird ALL over him finally he gets a jumper off.
Celtics could lock him down when they had to.
Which wasnt often.
What was his record against bird? 6-0 in the finals.
Yeah.
Chaaaampionship material.
You left off the dunk on the Lakers in the Finals where he switched directions mid-air. That was legendary.
The Flu Game is the best one etched into my memory, though I also vividly remember The Last Shot as a Bull, or him embarrassing Ron Mercer with the block/steal/snatch. Not even a player, infectious disease, or weakened physical condition could have stopped him from being the best and he still scored 38 points. That gave me the definition of "whatever it takes to win the game". Many players coming up may say it, but Jordan set the level high for me.
Exactly but people keep saying he had the flu, he didn't; he was poisoned (food), watch the Last Dance again
@@tanyaclemons9579 definitely poisoned....and still won. They probably mopped the floor with that pizza
@tanyaclemons9579 but still the flu or food poisoning to still go out and put that many points when most people would have trouble even getting up from the bed let alone play speaks volumes
Does MJ know how much we need him today!? Oh man, the 1990s were gold.
We keep watching Jordon, after so many years. His focus, work ethic, unthinkable commitment, philosophy of life, come what may the determination to win, not afraid of failures, but try try try again. What an example of hard work & dedication& love for the game. We have watched some of the players criticizing him badly but doesn’t matter, you cannot keep a Godman down. No matter who says what he kept working hard & spoke words of wisdom. What one person’s dedication can do! My my my, it can change the whole world! Thanks Michal, you are the best! Wishing you God’s Speed.
this man is simply incomparable no one can match how he plays on both sides of the ball everything he did on the court was extraordinary and still unmatched till this day..Jordan is the GOAT…period.
After all of these years, that winning shot against the Jazz in game 1 in 1997 still gives me the chills. Absolutely no one like him.
Greatest basketball player to ever step foot on a court. No one will ever sway me from that. Jordan got people who didn’t watch basketball to tune in every night all across the world.
This is the only player when his videos pop up I watch them lmao.
That's greatness.
There simply is no other Jordan! Always the best in my mind-
I'll always remember Game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals... as a Blazer fan. Jordan ripped our hearts out in that game with his 3-point shooting.
My favorite moment is the one that made me a basketball fan for life: Game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals.
Loved watching him play! Love seeing these looks back now.
Never has there ever been anyone as good as MJ to this day.
Couple started getting close but,... nope.
Like it or not,... Michael Jordan is an undefeated Champion of Basketball for all time.
The basketball of the 90s was the stuff of legends, and MJ was the king of the 90s.
Playing with the flu and dominating, was the best event in sports I’ve ever seen live on tv. Period. It is as amazing to see him struggling with an illness while still being the best on the court. Unreal ethic and ability.
what an amazing era. the atmosphere back then was electric. there have been some great teams before and since then, like those Duncan Spurs teams,. and my favorite years when the Bullets played back to back finals against the Sonics in the 70's. but it just wasnt the same as when Jordan and the Bulls were winning it all in the 90's.
Jordan is The GOAT and it is NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!
Highlights don't do the "flu game" justice. Watching it live, and seeing his face between plays, the obvious physical agony he was in, really puts it into perspective. He was sweating profusely, moreso than usual, and it was clear he was dehydrated and sick.
The most amazing athletic performance I've seen in my almost 45 years
Growing up, I wanted to be Larry Bird. I practiced and practiced and played tons of games. Then Michael came along and I was no MJ but I was shocked!! Never ever did I see a player even close to him. He was something nobody ever saw, we literally felt like he could fly. He could defy gravity. He changed the game, the whole world's perception on the game. He made kids dream in way no other kid even thought about. He is the Greatest!!!
If I could be like Mike
Down by 1, with 5 seconds left on the clock, who do you want taking the shot. Bird or MJ?
His Airness forever! Thanks for the upload. Keep up the good work 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Jordan is a unique existence with beautiful movements and stats and achievements...
Ordinary jump shots are beautiful or cool
Whether it's a double clutch or a fadeaway, it's cool anyway
When the Bad Boys Pistons, who boasted the strongest defense, created the Jordan rule to suppress one Jordan, you can see how great Jordan is.
I FUK'N LOVE COMING ACROSS THESE CLIPS OF MICHAEL JORDAN DOING HIS THANG 💪🏾🏀🤾🏾♂️
The most incredible player ever. The GOAT, the BEST
I'm so glad that I was able to watch Michael Jordan play in the 90s and watch his second comeback which was as dominant as before or even better
Always good seeing Jordan's highlights...
Obviously the greatest of all time, MJ THE GREATEST THERE EVER WAS THE GREATEST THERE EVER WILL BE MJ his Airness
one the most well rounded basketball players EVER!!!
Nough said........the greatest ever to play the game. Michael Jordan🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
You can see the honor and admiration that Phil Jackson had for Micheal. Some unions are just what they are. As there's really no need to change or interupt what is, when you're aware of what is.
Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, I was blessed to see Jordan and Sweetness.
Another fantastic video Sean. I think what the "younger" generation fails to realize in MJ's greatness is:
1) From 1988 - 1998 his Air Jordan brand carried the NBA
2) Rules changed to level the competitive playing field
3) Teams implemented AGGRESSIVELY physical tactics to slow down is scoring - it failed
4) Players reamined on the same teams for 5-10 years so their chemistry should have been an advantage
5) Load Managment did NOT exist - Starting players likely averaged 35-39 per game for every game they were available
6) NBA actually scheduled back-back games multiple times per year
7) Physical therapy was in its infancy compared to 2010-->
If Michael Jordan played in this era, he would put up even more spectacular numbers and memorable moments!!
Imagine if jordan played garbage time for stats?
Actually, I can't imagine MJ doing that. He cared less about stats and more about doing whatever it took to win games. He didn't want to team up with other great players, he wanted to beat and humiliate them.
Word ✌🏾
@@Fernando-vg4ym That is the difference right there Fernando & it is all about mentality, and even when teams like Boston or Detroit would beat up on the Bulls, they would make changes, such as ( bulk up ) in order to play tougher against their competition & in todays game, now everybody wants to build Super Teams, and there aren’t even anymore great rivals out there. I don’t know what todays NBA even stands for 🤷🏾♂️ & yet they get paid way more money 😳
@@davidvickers8425 Yup he played only 3qtrs for a lot of games during his career.Thats how dominant he was.If he stat padded he would've had over 40k pts easily
JORDAN IS THE G.O.A.T OF B.BALL.....Case Closed. Nexxxxxxt......During the Jordan Era he was the reason why I watched NBA 👊👊👊
Sean David never misses a beat
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAATTT!!!! 💯💯💯
What about the triple move layup against Denver where it looks like he is flying through people? That was unreal. Greatest move that I have ever seen and is just too underrated like it didn't even happen.
Definitely in the air.. best ever show of hanging EVER.. next is dr j behind the backboard..
even the Denver bench reacted like "holy shit, I can't believe what I just saw!"
Wasn't that against the Nets? czcams.com/video/x4MV6BxRgqg/video.html
@@NorseAtheist Not sure. I didn't see the game. Team colors change so much these days I could never be sure. Don't make no muphukin sense.
Against the NJ Nets
I can watch Jordan all day long...GOAT 🐐
No basketball player ever, will be as good as MJ!!!!
The greatest of all times!
The chills just by watching some of these plays. I remember watching him as a teen!! Great times!!
Man, that footwork needed to get out of the corner and shake off those Knicks defenders.. Legendary. If there's any basketball skill I could have it would be that footwork.
Last time, I was this early, Jordan was sick with the flu.
The dunk Mike had on Patrick Ewing was nasty. He shook Charles Oakley and John Starks. 2 defensive guys then Patrick should have never jumped.
Ewing should've have known better. Outside of Dream, there was no big man fast enough or athletic enough to guard MJ ever that I can remember.
Cmon Jordan was from a running jump and Pat on a standing jump, of course MJ (that however was a better jumper) was favourite. Also Ewing had bad knees. Pat did his job and that time goes in that way. Ewing blocked Jordan several times....
Mj, the goat...its sooo many more moments that's not even included in this video...could be a damn documentary lolz
Tbh I just want to say happy b day to mj cause today is his birthday & he deserves it cause ain’t no one like him 1 of 1
i rememmeber waking up just to watch MJ. After him came Kobe and i think they were so alike.
I just wish they could play against each other in their prime
Although im a Nets fan John Stockton was one of my favs of all time. So i was routing for the Jazz that game and boy ill never forget where i was and the sadness i felt but will always appreciate i was there to see it.
It's such a beautiful thing to watch. Magic would even say he was watching magic. Beautiful
Jordan for 3!!!! That's my all time memory
He’ll always be my favorite player. He could fly.
Nasty. This was my NBA growing up. As a Knicks fan, he was the roadblock. But, I respected the heck out of him.
Michael air Jordan most iconic NBA player in history
Miss de 90s....soooo much
Michael Jordan is the goat and I remember all of these games. But do you remember the potential career ending fall against the Knicks. At that moment showed that Michael Jordan was special. I have seen other athletes fall in the same manner and their career was over but Jordan got right up. Look it up and see for yourself.
MJ THE GOAT 🐐
He's the best ever.
All the Bulls games I watched growing up were great to watch, but that Blazers game always sticks out to me.
Oakley - “I need them shoes!!”😂😂
Excellent save he was out of bounds.
Jordan used the expression “I got you”.
Popular today.
The double nickel game may be the single most impressive single game in NBA history given context. He didn't just take a year and a half off, he spent a year and a half training different muscles to play a completely different sport and it takes him 9 games to get back to the point where he puts up 55 on what is legitimately one of the best defensive teams in history.
I can't think of any more impressive game than that.
40 years after MJ enters the league and he is still viewed as the best two-way player to ever play.
A legend 👍💛🇬🇧
Michael Jackson the greatest basketball player forever and forever
Very proud and lucky to see the GOAT play during my time. 6 NBA Championships, 6 Finals MVP, 2 Olympics Gold, 1 NCAA Championship. MJ did not lose a Championship game on his career!
I shivered cause I actually seen that game thanks for the video 📸📸 awesome 👍
Bad ass dude. Way to keep the legends alive.
How could the switching hands in midair against the Lakers not be on this list?
Athletic with amazing creative talent 6 championships and 6 MVP Finals , that’s superiority
Great video~ brought back alot of good memories~
This is great I remember watching on an old black in white tube TV with the click knob. Two rabbit ears.
Everybody loved him I collected all the cards of him. I jumped heights from him as a white boy. I flew through the sky light it was there before.
I remember watching these films invincibility came over me my parents seen me on the hoops all winter through -30 weather.
Dude we need a video on Rasheed “Garansheed” Wallace like yesterday. Thanks for all you do brother, videos are fire 🔥
In France, Canal+ TV transmitted all play off NBA. it was amazing to see MJ. one nigth i saw myself stand up on the sofa, harms in the air ^^
Needed the free throw dunk lol. My favorite
He is the goat . No fear when the game is on the line . He could just hang in the air and wait till your on your way down alter his shot 3times while hanging and when your on your way down he finishes on you . Just the drive determination has never been matched .
I just had to say "GOAT!"
I know that they were teammates in Chicago back in the day, but i can't believe that Oakley asked MJ for his shoes BEFORE the game. WOW. He knew the magnitude of the moment of MJ coming back. I'm from Alabama and I watched him play for the Birmingham Barons way back then
Oakley and Jordan were team-mates before Chicago Organization traded him,Mike was not happy about that trade because Oakley at times backed M.J. when he thought M.J. was fouled too hard.
M.J. was showing respect to Oakley by telling him "I got you" ,RESPECT to a former team-mate.🏀💣💥
Finding out Jimmy was his son was an unforgettable moment
Bruh wtf this is too damn funny!! 😂😂😂😂🙌🏽🙌🏽
Wtf dude! Got my coffee out my nose! 🤣🤣🤣
OMG
Love your work and your enthusiasm. Thanks. :)
It looks like Jordan came from 2022. He is just ahead of his time.
The GOAT. PERIOD.
MJ the GOAT! Ever!
Best times of NBA
Hard to beat the best . The greatest. The man owned the court. If someone is better than him I would love, love love to see it. That would redefine spectacular. Such an entertaining player. One day someone may better him - but haven't seen it yet.
Tks for the memories Mr S David, I'm 63, don't remember much about Wilt, Russell some ! (Black and white TV) holding rabbit ears for dad ! For me as a kid in Akron Ohio, was a Bird fan, Jordan is the GOAT 🐐 🙌 in my life ! There was great athletes in Akron Ohio, didn't get national recognition 🙄 fact 👏 tks Sean ✌ 👍
Jordan had everything
