He said quote: 'Kellen wants to light the scoreboard up, but I want to run the damn ball so I can rest my defense. I think when you're a coordinator, you know, you're in charge of the offense. They get paid, Get treated excellent. As someone from Texas, cowboy's are my team. But deep down, were never winning anything past 2nd round. We need better management, more aggressive OC's and I mean we don't need another quarterback. Cooper Rush is competent.
And he's not going anywhere no time soon unless he passes away and then it will be Stephen and hopefully he has since enough to not let ego get in his way and hire a real GM
As another Cowboys fan the Cowboys officially became SB contenders the second they got rid of the final piece of the Garrett and Linehan era at the end of this past years NFC title game.
Think about this, since 2010 have the Cowboys done well drafting players and since acquiring Dan Quinn and Micah Parsons in 2021, has the defense gotten worse??? NO TEAM IN THE NFL CAN WIN when you have a selfish coach or coordinator who likes to play his way rather than to the team’s strength. Jerry finally figured out the offensive side of the ball by having Mike finally let go of the last toxic cancer.
Stop listening to the media, stop with your pity think for your self for once. As a Cowboys IMO we haven’t been true contenders since 2007. That Kay have changed by cutting ties with Kellen Moore!!!
Obviously we haven’t been deep in the playoffs since 1996. However are we really going to throw the word “toxic” around???
I don’t care for Jerry’s press conferences after games or his desire to always be in the spotlight but that has little to nothing to do with results. Has a large group of people or players complain about Jerry or playing for the Cowboys??? DeMarcus Ware, Barry Church, Sean Payton were associated with Dallas post 1996, went to other teams had more playoff success elsewhere and still speak highly of Jerry or the Cowboys.
Brady won 6 rings with Belichick, he wanted to leave ASAP hated the culture. That sound like a toxic culture despite Brady and Belichick being cool now.

If the Cowboys make it to an NFC championship game then Moore will be seen as the person who held them make however if the Chargers when a playoff game or advance to the AFC championship while the Cowboys are 1 and done or worse the McCarthy will have no one to hide behind.

Unlike the Cowboys, we have to beat the Eagles. The good thing about that is, Dak has a great record against the Eagles. Mike McCarthy is lowkey lying. He had this same exact issue in Green Bay lol. He refused to use Aaron Jones, who was/is one of the most explosive and exciting RB in the NFL.
Dak got exposed for his turnovers. They had a damn near 50/50 pass/run ratio. They’re probably always gonna run with Zeke because of his contract and they want to make themselves look good and smart by paying Zeke and not using the much better RB who is making almost nothing.

Slight inconvenience = Zeke Elliott. Aka the man whose falling off with every carry attempted.
The inconvenience being that Zeke is slow? The line is aged? At least his passing concepts are creative enough that he could get guys open, Dak just couldn’t hit them, or would throw to the wrong route.

What this sounds like is, Jerry not satisfied with Kellen Moore’s play calling and is telling McCarthy this is how I want the game called offensively and this is what you should say in the press conference.
I’m sure what he meant was leaning on the run game to help the defense with time of possession. And to help Dak by taking responsibility off his plate. Dak tied the league lead in picks and missed 5 games, a run game would help him. I dont get how mccarthy is coming off 2 straight 12 wins seasons, 1 in which they won a playoff game and went 4-1 with their backup QB, yet he’s still widely clowned. Let’s see how the offense functions without Moore. They should be able to cut Zeke this off-season with no penalty, so hopefully they can actually spice up the run game, but I kinda doubt it. The run concepts in Dallas haven’t exactly been creative for a very long time.

He was Dak backup QB when Dak took over for Tony Romo. To be honest Kellen is just another Jason Garrett clone. He has been learning on the job, which is bad for Dak. The Cowboy should have fired him when they fired Jason, which was a mistake by the Cowboys. People said the same thing when Jason was fired. The offense was going to fall off without Jason. It didn't happen. Dak only got better. The reason the Cowboys made it to the playoffs last year was because of there D. The D didn't play well at the end of the season because we had injuries at DB. That why the team will be drafting another DB in the draft. When the D was at full strength they where giving the ball back to the O all game long in good positions. Now let talk about your team. You guys didn't lose in the playoffs because of your O. You lost because your D can't keep a lead and your OC want to pass the ball all game long instead of run the ball to run the clock out. Now you hire another OC who does the same thing.
@@curtisaallen bro, I’ve been alive longer than 5 minutes. I know all about Moore and Garrett. You want correlation and causation? Garrett got fired and Moore took over the offense. Dak improved. Moore is offered multiple HC jobs last year and decides to finish out his contract in Dallas. Moore was the QB at a revolutionary pass game at Boise State where I think they lost like 3 games in his career or something like that. I’m well aware the Cowboys strength was their D. That’s where they have drafted young talent the past few years, so it makes sense and Micah is a beast and should be for a long time.
I don’t recall bringing up the Bolts, but since you did, Joe Lomardi should’ve been fired last season because he cannot keep his foot on the gas in the second half, and made the team come second in the league in short yard pass attempts when Herbert has one of the biggest arms in the league. When it comes to the run game, half our line was injured for most of the season, we have one great RB, but nobody behind him, and it wasn’t like the run concepts were exactly creative from Lombardi. Moore is coming into a locker room with infinitely more talent than the Cowboys and more roster flexibility than the Cowboys. HC and now OC are former QBs, and they know how good Ekeler is in and out of the backfield, so they’ll have absolutely no problem handing him the ball or finding him on a route. Plus the owner never says anything and nobody is gonna mess around with Moore’s offense. This is when the cream rises to the top. Is it a gamble? Yeah, but any hiring is a gamble.
This is exactly why Dallas will be in the same position next year

When you really only have tony pollard able to run the ball effectively, you can’t call run plays as often as you would like. Zeke is a shell of himself. And that’s causing the imbalance of the offensive play calling.

Read or watch the whole thing with McCarthy and he's defending Kellen Moore, said "I get it , coordinators become coaches by scoring alot and having good offenses. Offensive coordinator has to worry about offense and scoring, where a head coach has to worry about the whole team, keeping our defense on the sidelines rested and running the ball" but like always media will pick one line out of a whole conversation and run with it.
In fairness McCarthy didn’t run the ball with Green Bay when he was Coaching and calling the plays lol.

i remember Kellen from way back when..he was Matt stafford back up in Detroit was drafted out of BYU i think..not sure on tht but he never got a chance to play there and when then OC Scott the ''Snott'' Linenhan left Detroit for Dallas he took with him Kellen Moore bcuz he knew his offense and could help instill it to the QB room in DAllas. Fast forward to the present he is on his way to becoming a HC very soon he has calm cool about him tht GMs will love..

Mike McCarthy is the perfect nfl coach for teams that aspire to good-ness. He'll never lead a team to greatness, but he can lead them to pretty good-ness, and if that team happens to have an all-time great qb on their they might just be able to win a super bowl (not multiple super bowls, but one anyway). Of course, the Cowboys have Dak, who is...a pretty good qb.

Tell me where the cowboys ranked in rushes per game? oh they where 7th? more rush attempts than 77% of the nfl im sure bull-dozing zeke for more 1.5 yard a carry would have moved the offense from 2nd in yards and scoring to first and bumped our league-leading red zone TD % from 7% to 100%. why can't we as cowboys fans use our heads if our qb is as average as we say our oline as old as we say and our WR as bad as we say how did kellen get us to 2nd in yards?
