Lol i play independent or legion and help the ncr, get their armor and stuff and then i stab them in the back because the battle is much more cool from the legion side
I almost did until the desert ranger gear came out in honest hearts. Now I'm completely for an independent New Vegas.
Me, as well as for functional vehicles and actually giving a damn about humanity, which house and the legion certainly lack, as well as independence.
Dragonborn Express House mentioned he could colonize beyond Earth given the Courier's help. He is one of the best chances for survival that humanity has despite his rhetoric.
As for independence? Once Tandi died the NCR began its decline. They are full of corrupt individuals and often force those that hinder their expansion out of their homes. You can meet people in NV that the NCR forcibly relocated. The ironic thing is that this rapid expansion only hurts them. The reason a post-defeat Legion can impact the NCR so greatly is due to them expanding their territory too quickly and thinning their numbers. Their hubris led them to trust that this would be enough.
House is a much better example of independence. Whether it be apathy towards the consequences or a belief in freedom of choice, House allows drugs, prostitution, alcohol and gambling to go uninhibited. With a good Karma character it is even stated that the Courier advised House on the best moral approaches to take, meaning that post-game House takes much more humane actions than we see.
Based on what we see, the NCR may not be the best faction for the Mojave. If they continue to expand the way they do then there's a good chance that they will be unprepared to continually protect their territory after the battle at Hoover Dam.
Worse case you can kill (stealth or not) for one or perhaps grab the independent kind in the Divide.

The Black Rangers are handled so damn well imo. At the start of the game they’re nothing more than myths, legends. Then as you progress you hear that these guys are now ON THEIR WAY... Later, you get to see these guys slowly popping up around key areas like Forlorn Hope and the Ranger Stations closest to Cottonwood Cove. It’s such organic storytelling and world building I love it!
Yeah but then your able to get full black ncr ranger amour with out even really earning it before they even start to arrive in thoes areas.
@@brandon3671 there are only 2 ways to get the armor legitimately and neither of them are particularly easy. Especially the NCR route…it basically demands you 100% Forlorn Hope which means Black Rangers will show up in the Ranger Stations.
@@isaacfaith9369 Idk man, I consider getti g the NCR hideout fairly easy imo. The hard thing is getting oast the deathclaws if you are still low level.
But anywya I wholeheartly agrre with your comment. These guys are the hype of the game. In the cover, the first thing you see in the opening cinematic, and then you font find them in the main game. After a while your ealizr they arent deployed in the Mojave, but the people of the Mohave speak about them as you said, like mythical legends. When the story progresses, you start hearing they are coming. If you are pro-NCR, you get excited. If you arr an enemy, you either get a chill doen your spine, or aspire the challenge. And when they come, and you see them in action, they literally prove their hype is real!
They destroy almost everything. One of them alone can literally best you even on high level. You have to be over 40 or something to make them easy and even still...
They can take down almost all types of enemies. And can take punishment and still come out on top. Usually deathclaws kill almost all NPCs in one or two hits. But against a vet ranger, they can dwip them 5, 6, 7 and the Ranger is still up.
THAT is how you make a bad ass character!

@@El_Descarriadoyep, which is one of my gripes with this game, you can't officially become an NCR soldier, you're just an auxiliary, basically a helper and nothing more, despite everything that you do to help them keep the mojave under their control, you never rise in terms of rank which is boring.
@@dragonbornexpress5650Well, militaries don't exactly hand out memberships just for doing favors for them. You have to go through official channels & processes like everyone else. Militaries are all about strict organization & structure, and for good reasons.

It's too bad you can't lead the desert rangers, I always thought they were the noble outlaws in a group of corrupt politicians.
They kinda give you a chance to command them in the Hoover dam battle but other than that they’re just there

I usually install Yes Man and go for the Independent Vegas ending. Make the Mojave socialist again! To hell with the capitalistic corruption and autocracy of NCR and House! To hell with the slavery and misogyny of Caesar's Legion! Throw them all under the bus and go independent!
@@DarDarBinks1986, I'm actually guessing the canon ending is a mixture of both the NCR and independent endings, in that while New vegas is technically independent, it is much more accurate to call it a protectorate of the NCR.

Yep, way worse. You thought corruption was a pre war mistake? Try war mongering, ancient, slavery, and other things and you got a recipe for a stew of pre war mistakes.
Corruption is always a thing in governments. There has never been a government without any sort of corruption. Plus, Caesar’s legion is one of the ones that fall apart whenever their leader falls. Look at what happened with Alexander when he died from disease. Legate Lanius might be a skilled military commander but he is not a leader by chance. The Legion is doomed. NCR wins whether people like it or not.

The biggest factor of political corruptions in the last 400 years is the Government being captured by captains of Industry, Robber Barrons like Mr. House lol
The NCR could be seen as verging on the path of totalitarianism, with the Legion already being there. If you try to have an optimistic view, you could say that the Courier's actions alone helped the Republic find a better path. Gen. Oliver said as much if you choose the NCR throughout the game and at the second battle of Hoover Dam.

Best uniform/suit/character type in any video game ever. Wears skin tight jeans and riot gear with a cool mask helmet and a strong sniper/hand cannon. A soldier who can literally adapt to any scenario at any moment.
I’m disappointed that when you wear veterans ranger armour there’s not a small chance enemies will flee at the sight of you.

11:07 Wish there was a rescue mission for Ranger Stella. It felt wrong killing her on a playthrough where I was role-playong as an NCR spy, to gain Caesar's favor, and killing him quietly, while indirectly.sabotaging the legion from the inside.

I always role play as a clandestine NCR operative. So secret in fact that even the top ranking bureaucrats don't know about my alligience to them and treat me as a simple courier when all along I was working just in their favour. Some splinter cell stuff
If you choose a legion play through, Good luck at the battle of hoover dam, there are two Vet Rangers in particular who should be feared and respected.

Same, they're actually one of the best factions period and if new vegas had a canon ending, the NCR ending would probably be the canon ending, as it's pretty much gonna happen by default pushing the actual game aside.

Their gear is so cool that during my House playthrough, I decided to periodically fast travel to Camp Forlorn Hope and sneak up on a Ranger so I could get their armour.

Without them, I couldn’t go into an airsoft field without looking like a modern warfare cowboy gunslinger, because most airsoft field relies on more modern tactical fashion, so the NCR Veteran Ranger gave me enough excuse to walk in the field dressed like one with only my airsoft Colt SAA, Schofield, and Barrett 50 cal sniper, and nobody questioned it because the NCR Veteran Ranger could totally be how a modern warfare cowboy look!
Last time I saw an NCR Ranger was when I was scraping the contents of his skull off the boot of my Hellfire armour.
That must have been before Navarro was turned into scrap metal and the Mobile Platform was turned into a parking lot.

I remember when I first got into fallout, I thought the BoS Power Armor was so fucking cool. It got me into playing the Fallout games non-stop. And then F:NV came out, and I seen the NCR Veteran Rangers. I fucking fell in love.
The apprehension of key positions in the FO universe
BoS: we were able to sequester and deploy a large platoon of forces including two vertibirds, 10 Knights in T-51 power armor, two gatling lasers, laser rifles, and enough stimpaks to ease any injuries sustained from such an overwhelming offensive
NCR: We sent 10 on the hardest fucking men you've ever seen on foot armed with big-ass Seqoias and a shitload of bullets

My ONE gripe with the veteran rangers is that everyone references their "Black coats" but they are all in brown, hahaha. Would be cool to have a mix of vet ranngers with both the brown and the black i think.
NCR ranger gear is TECHNICALLY possible in our world. essentially it's old gas mask welded on a helmet.

The Brother Hood of Steel despite being heavily outnumbered(i remember 5 to 1) held out against the NCR and only started to reatreat after the disapperance of the current Elder Elysa

I've watched about 30 of your Fallout builds in the last days, and they're all pretty awesome, what about an harborman build making use of the harpoon gun and Longfellow's perk to hunt down the bigeast monsters ?
I like to think of them as the legendary cowboys of the post apocaliptic world. The Future west legends.
Game deserves a remaster so bad that I sat down and modded one up myself.
300+ mods, bugfixing took nearly a week.

Democracy was NCRs downfall. In fallout 2 you could turn the NCR into a military dictatorship
Democracy is a flawed system, that was originally designed to only function in small city-states like Athens, not entire nation sized states. Greek Philosophers like Plato,Socrates and Aristotle all saw democracy as a flawed system, that inevitably leads to corruption and these were the people that invented it. Look at how corrupt our Democracies are now, completely bought and paid for by big money that conspires against the best interests of humanity. Most first-world democracies are no longer representative governments (The only redeeming quality of democracy), but Oligrachys, where mega-corporations and big lobbyist control our governments/politicians. Our leaders only begrudgingly do their jobs, to maintain the illusion that the people are in control.

I like to roleplay the curier as an NCR veteran ranger in an undercover mission to see what Mister House was up to before getting cought up in the whole affair. So, as a good ncr veteran, he adapts to the situation and keep the mission parameters in mind. First, locate mister house. Second, find out what's so important about the platinum Chip. Third, don't forget to kick legion ass along the way.

Brotherhood of Steel fell back due to sheer numbers. Not much tactics or skill needed when you keep hammering them down with 10 to 1. Though BoS was able to wipe out a shit ton of NCR before forced to retreat.
I do love the design of the NCR Rangers. Every time i have a chance, I swipe one even if i must stealth kill for it.

Wish there was another rank above the Veteran Rangers that only the player could apply. And instead of the regular Ncr Ranger Armor, you get a specialized prewar Riot Armor. Honestly could've been dope if each clan had the top rank of which only the player could occupy.

I always loved how, if you kill the ranger in arena combat in the Legion fort, all the legionaries are super impressed, it just makes the rangers seem that much more powerfull.

If it's the Mohave chapter of the bos, NCR by default, any way you slice it, the NCR wins. However, if it's the east coast brotherhood, yeah, pretty one sided for the brotherhood to win.

My favorite variant of this armor is the desert ranger combat armor but do like the sneak effect on the helm of elite riot
The NCR veteran ranger armor is in my opinion the coolest most bad ass looking armor in the whole fallout series. They are the reason I chose the NCR faction in my main New Vegas playthrough. Sure you can get this armor easier if you join Ceasar"s Legion becoming vilified and killing an assassination party that comes after you (even though they are tough as nails) but I like to role play rising up in the ranks and finally getting they key to the NCR safe house where you find one set that you have to repair with jerry rig perk. It makes the armor feel rare like everyone that achieves this rank has their own set.
Each Veteran Ranger is as skilled as two Clint Eastwoods put together.

They tried to exterminate pretty much all of humanity, but the problem with that is there aren't enough "pure" humans to continue humanity, meaning the enclave would have pretty much caused the human equivalent of the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs and basically committed suicide for themselves. Yeah sure, they're real good....not!
@grant macneil, I can understand that they're underrated, they're pretty freaking strong, but misunderstood? Nope, we understand their perfectly, especially the main one that was on the oil rig during fallout 2: basically exterminate humanity entirely.

The brotherhood of steel may have power armor but the NCR has more power, highly trained soldiers, wide spreed influence, and more troops that range to the thousands or even a million troops one may say. But Democracy stands strong for the NCR.

Yep, the most badass and stronger looking than Legion armor, which is pretty much a football uniform with small bits of metal, while NCR ranger armor has big pauldrons, helmets, chest plates, closed gloves and bracers, you name it.
Only good outfit legion has is Lanius, but it's not an armor, that's his body it seems, since you can't take it off 😂

I heard somewhere in the game that each legion soldier is as well trained as some of the ncrs best men.
What needs to happen is Bethesda needs to lose the rights to the Fallout IP, Obsiden gets the rights. And make some good games. That being said I am unsure if any of the orignal team that made NV still works at Obsidian currently.
Seriously. Bethesda does not deserve the rights to Fallout after the absolute abomination they made with Fallout 76. Fallout 4 was pretty meh but it can be enjoyable if you play Survival Mode. But after 76, Bethesda lost all of my respect for them and I consider them my enemies in my gaming life.
@@nicholascauton9648 I don't really have much appreciation for Bethesda myself and again I still play their older games Oblivion Skyrim Fallout 3, morrowind.
I prefer to be able to remember them as what they once were, not how they are now.
I have serious reservations for The Elder Scrolls 6 and I have minimal to no interest in Star field all see the reviews I'll watch people give gameplay on CZcams but I'm not going to touch the game myself.
Ghost Warrior 38 Although I identify myself more in the Fallout camp when it comes to Bethesda games, I do actually enjoy playing Elder Scrolls games when the occasion arises. Particularly Skyrim most especially as I regard it as my 2nd all-time favorite video game right after New Vegas as my #1.
That being said, I would not be surprised if they fuck up Elder Scrolls 6 like how they fucked up with Fallout 76. The latter was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. But if they fuck up Elder Scrolls 6, that’s just rubbing salt into an open profusely bleeding wound.
