Give your bodies to Atom, my friends. Release yourself to his power, feel his Glow and be Divided. How big would be the change of such a cult forming if it happend in the now?
Doc Dat bask in his glow brother
Division will come, brother.
It would be ironic if in the real world cause of the game they think it of a real religious history
I personally believe in Atom it's not entirely unrealistic
It would be just like the rise of scientology, but less corrupt and more completely retarded.
A deathclaw walks into a bar and asks the bartender, "May I please have a gin and....

............. tonic?" To which the bartender replies "Sure, but why the big pause?" And the deathclaw says "I dunno, I've always had 'em."
Can you explain it?
@@karlm115 Often when a low level runs into a high enemy (like a deathclaw) they pause save the game find their best weapons and meds ect hence long pause.
@@intergalacticthic-boi3866 Oooh. I get it now. Thanks man
@@karlm115 No problem my guy
@Intergalactic tHIC-bOI Really? I thought you were saying his big paws. That is the joke right? I'm not going puncrazy to think that was the joke?
....
Maybe I'm hearing to many dad jokes in my life..
Radioactive INSANITY - The Children of Atom: that is a kickass band and album name!
Like many people, I met the Children of Atom very early in my play through of Fallout 3. I spent hundreds of hours with that game and adored it; it bought me a lot of enjoyment during an unpleasant time in my life. So I’ll always have a soft spot for the Children of Atom for being there at the start of my journey.
7:35 Holy shit! The people of Megaton came from Elsweyr!
God, so skyrim was a prequel....
No, I think that's backwards. Fallout is clearly the prequel to The Elder Scrolls. The Alien Satellite 'Lorkhan' finally initiates their 'lifeform rehabilitation program'.
Khajiit will find salvation from elsweyr
I think the Children of Atom are something that should've been done more to be honest, post-nuclear apocalypse cults would be an interesting theme to explore more. But about the Children of Anthom specifically its very interesting how they worship the very thing that wrought their destruction.
Play Far Harbour. You'll be entertained.
Travel to the Nucleus.
@@mushroomsrcool1449 I already did.
@@Arauto_Kagnos YESSS... I have Glowing Fungus covering my settlements.

I love you guys, thank you for sticking together and putting out this amazing content. Every time I can catch a break from work and see one of your videos, it really makes my day. You really have something truly unique with this channel.
Loving these Species/Faction Lore videos.
Awesome!
I know one of the theories about Atom is that it is the same God that’s worshiped by the swamp folk and other. Ug-Qualtoth, the same god responsible for the dunwich cult.
I’m just saying, that guy in fallout 3 had to have someone or something watching his back. He is ankle deep in that green water 24/7 preaching his heart out to an inanimate bomb and he still keeps going. Either that, or he eats Rad-X like candy
He's probably got some awful foot fungus
It’s stated in Far Harbor that some (but not all) of the Children are blessed with immunity to radiation, namely the Zealots, Richter and Theil
@@MeanAndPristine I have to agree I mean there's a glitch that allows you to be immune to radiation because you're wearing their armor this has to be a sign.
@@Ash_Waste_Nomad there's no reason to think it's a glitch, it's an intended but hidden mechanic
@@Awuga True!!!!
Glory to Atom, and his Divine Glow.
Praise be to Atom!
Beautifully put together, love this channel and the content, keep it coming!!!
thanks for this, drew. you've really been making exceptionally great videos lately.
Great one bro i love the children of atom keep it up fudgemuppet
Fallout 3 will always be my favourite game ever, love your lore vids.
Same
No you are not a Fallout fan if you don't hate every fallout game except New Vegas
Just kidding Fallout 3 was one of my favorite games of all time.
New Vegas is loads of fun, but there is something missing from it, despite the gameplay additions. It's the haunting feeling you get when you enter a house in Minefield, or the school outside of Vault 101, or the grocery store down the road. It's an atmosphere that is missing in New Vegas. Still haven't played Fallout 4, so I really can't say...
@@ulti-matezoan6398 Don't forget you have to pretend you played 1 and 2
I’m done w/ 76 im going back to 4 who’s with me?
nah
Did you slaugther 76? Because it will be great favor tous
They're all garbage. Skyrim, modded, is good though.
Go to New Vegas.
Children of atom mods are the best in fallout 4 and mods fix fallout 4
Close your eyes and feel atoms glow. The great devision will happen. And when it does. You shall feel your atoms split. And see atom
I think a defining trait of the Far Harbor Children is the peace that people eked out through faith. In joining the cult, many of the Children found shelter, discipline, purpose, and family. Their stories all echo hardship and the Nucleus was their salvation. Their devotion to Atom is inextricably tied to those values and it fuels their faith.
Back in Fallout 3, you touched on the nature of the cult already. Their salvation from the wasteland was found huddled in a crater with an armed nuclear bomb. It’s not fear that fuels the Children’s faith; they’ve learned not to fear it, that it’s their salvation. The Children found safety and comfort in the very thing that destroyed the old world
Cool. Looked all over CZcams the other night for a good lore video on these guys. Couldn't find one I liked.
A dog walked into a Tavern and said i can't see a thing i open this one
I hope this goes a long way
Nukes were dropped for the lawls 😂
The children of atom are proof that the capacity for human absurdity is limitless.
I personally divide every Child of Atom I find with a .308
I love just putting on Fudge Muppet and zoning out like "I have no idea what hes talking about but it sounds nice"
... brilliant!
Atom! Atom!! Atom!!! Wooh!!!
Division!
Please keep making more fallout lore videos
If my first Fallout 3 playthrough was canon, Megaton's fucked. For no other reason than sheer curiosity. 😆
“You be nice to Cromwell he is a NATIONAL TREASURE YOU MOTHERFU-HOLD ME BACK! HOLD ME BACK” *Cross grabs me while Jerrico watches from a balcony, laughing his ass off*
When I bombed the Children of Atom in the Far Harbor dlc my thought was "That's what you lunatics have been worshipping." Atom will give us division, well I certainly gave it to them.
7:36 Damn, I did not know the Kahjit came to the Wasteland!
Such a fun game finished it 7 times this time not even gonna do the main story why becuz ive only explores the bottom right and middle of the map that’s it
Sounds like heresy.
*proceeds to grab bolter and heavy flamer.*
I enjoyed the video a lot.
Though drew your blasphemous against the ATOM.
Praise be ATOM.
Excellent video Drew. You got me into classic Fallout again and I appreciate it. I also thank you and the guys at Fudgemuppet for speaking out against the loreless dumpster fire that is Fallout 76.
We need more Fallout lore videos
Been playing Skyrim just thought of a rogue shadow Palidan
So is our universe just another one of these sub universes created during an atomic explosion? Could the Big Bang have been just another universe’s nuclear bomb?
No.
Even if we were, we would never know. We could be in that alien kid’s marble bag in Men in Black for all we know
Every time I see Megaton I'm reminded of my 1st encounter w/Deathclaws. Two of them at the very start of the game ! After puttzing around fixing the water pipes &
conversing w/everyone I exited the front gate & wham, they kept me bottled up so I couldn't run or fire, then the inevitable, being lifted , stared at , a big growl
then oblivion. After that I didn't leave sneak mode for months. Finally got my Power Armor though & sat outside those gates for days waiting for a rematch
which of course never came but in the form of Ants & Molerats w/an occasional Raider party. Guess the random monster generator didn't like the way
I treated Butch ? Then they shouldn't have made Amata Almodovar such a babe. (&/or my best friend.)
I loved blowing them up in Fallout 3!!
first: Love your vids, keep the lore coming, love the channel.
No one gives a crap
They said more than first, so they’re good.
Have you come to basque in his glow? Do not question my faith!
You should make some Oblivion and/or Morrowind builds, for the nostalgia and because their class systems are unique and would be really cool to mess around with and come up with crazy, and powerful roleplaying builds. Just an idea, since there won't be any fallout 76 builds, and you have already covered so many different Skyrim and Fallout builds.
I'm sad this video doesn't have more views.
Love the video
What a funny coincidence. After a year I started a new Playthrough of Fallout 3 yesterday and arrived in Megaton. I wondered about the little " church" they had there. Shortly after I looked into my YT feed you guys made a Video about it :D. What is your Secret eh ?
thank Kynareth another lore video wait wait its not about sweetrolls ………….."Sweet Mother, sweet Mother, send your child unto me, for the sins of the unworthy must be baptized in blood and fear."
Is your profile picture "quite"?
yup
Nice profile pic.
We know
I want a fallout 4 build that uses the Child of Atom perk and is stealth melee. Very hard to play, but MAXIMUM damage.
I'm happy you guys did a video on The Children Of Atom. I actually have a Children Of Atom character build thanks to you guys.
Megaton went boom
10:13 I have a very good feeling it was pre war.
Please dont stop elder scrolls lore for fallout. Every time i find a channel doing really good elder scrolls lore videos, they start doing fallout as well and then only do fallout
after the nukes were droped for the lolz, (proceeds to detonate the megaton nuke so some British dude can get his rocks off)
Soo maybe this comment is gonna get lost but anyway, i wanted to point out a mistake in your lore video, i recently played fallout 3 again and started reading some lore and the game says that and i quote now: the megaton bomb is an undetonaded c-23 megaton-class nuke dropped over d.c but dit not detonate. The founders of megaton found the bom and also a other group who started worshipping it (later called the cildren of atom). Eventually the 2 groups teamed up and, by using parts from a demolished airport, started building the walls and structures and eventually settled down there. So it was not the bomber that crashed, this gave merely enough steel and parts to build some structures and start a trading post, the walls and the rest of the structures were build some time later. Just wanted to get that out there haha if you found evidence that suggets otherwise please get in touch. As a big bethesa fan i love your content fudge keep it up! Much love
I loved the church of atom in F4 of Farharbor DLC
This video goes off topic from the title suggested and goes more into gameplay concerning Megaton, rather than actual CoA lore.
Atoms are really confusing but the one thing is they are very powerful
The lore video is greatly appreciated. .... I love oxhorn, but it's been 95% live streams of 76 over there since launch....
Children of Atom:
Evangelists on heavy drugs.
And radioactive water
..... Not Stockholm Syndrome in my opinion, but reverence (based partly on misunderstanding) to something feared by your Elders. The Survivors had children, who would have been especially dependent on their (seemingly amazing) Parents, Parents who told them (longingly) of the World before & (fearfully/reverently) of the ‘Almighty Weapon’ that destroyed it. Some of those Children would have seen that Fear of the ‘Atom’ in their Parents (who to a young child in bad circumstances is like unto a Deity) and ‘discovered’ something even more Powerful to cling to. 😅
It's 6am I should be asleep but I had to listen to this first.
its the virtual insanity Jamiroquai sung about that worries me
If the bomb was detonated then we wouldnt have the wasteland survival guide because then moira wouldnt have enough time to publish is
So megaton is alive and well 😃
Fuck Megaton I blew it up and scored some sweet new digs.
RIP: Everything ????-2077
I'm pretty sure that tower is too close to megaton to avoid the radiation your character and everyone else there would be cooked by rads unless you put on a radiation suit or took a massive amount of rad x and rad away.in a game about nuclear apocalypse I wish they would of addressed that problem of a nuke creating nuclear FALLOUT and it could be a nice metaphor about people thinking they are safe from the war they watch from afar but the effects hit home harder than ever conceived
Maybe its a baby bomb?
would you be able to make a sole survivor build or like a build with a vault 111 suit with leather armor over it or something and can use power armor if the player wants and whos a good hearted and nice person called like the vault dweller or the vault survivor or just sole survivor. a good fallout 4 build or nah idk lmao
The best reason to nuke megaton you will ever have a necessary evil
Wait how has nobody pointed this out... In Fallout 3 there's Manya Vargas and in New Vegas there's Manny Vargas! Woah! Lol
Dat Fallout 3 music 😍😫😭
Will you be doing any 76 lore? Like say on the excavation suit vs robots or the miner people?
Some of the lore is interesting though. Just because the game is a buggy pile of shit, doesn’t mean it has zero worth
One of my big beefs with the Fallout universe is that nuclear weapons work after that long. They need constant maintenance or they'll fail to detonate; the uranium and plutonium degrade slowly, but components with shorter half-lives need to be replaced regularly. I doubt that a nuclear weapon would still work after 25 years, much less 200. You could probably recondition a reactor, albeit simply reactivating the one in Nuka World (which was a filthy, accident-prone nightmare *before* the war) *without* any reconditioning is suicidally stupid, but a weapon would be much more difficult. Among other things, you'd need to be able to produce tritium; with a half-life of 12.5 years, virtually none would remain to be recovered after that long.
M'aiq is bored. Run along mortal.
They Originared from Elsweyr... Khajiit in Fallout? Fallout = Elder Scrolls Confirmed! :D
Really wish you guys would do more Fallout lore vids. I know The Elder Scrolls is your bread and butter, and The Outer Worlds is the hot new thing, but Fallout doesn't deserve to be left out in the rain. Yeah, 76 was a turd, but there's still plenty of Fallout lore (and builds) to be explored.
I’m with sims
May cause controvercy, but fallout 3 is my favorite of the Bethesda Fallouts. Mostly because of Megaton. Blow it up? Rescue it? Moira was great. The Brotherhood were a little too hippie for my taste.
No controversy. Fo3 is a good one.
It's fine you love it, some people get too cuaght up on what other poeple like. Only reason why I would go after you about something is if you said something outrageous and nonsensical like if the Earth was flat=)
@Dragonborn Here, here, Dovakin!
children of the atom...like those from Fallout tactics?...will this game also end up having the calculator, talking mammal deathclaws and robot armies too? can I have a hallenuetron!?......all hail Plutonius
Far Harbor was SO IMPRESSIVE GAAAHHHHHHHHH
My brain has been nuked! Time to use my gamma wave oven to reheat my 📺 🍽! Yummy ionizing radiation! 💀
I destroyed megaton, then killed everyone in Tenpenny tower and took it over. Mostly for Tenpenny's coat... Me likey
I miss fallout lore
fudge muppet... please... it's been 2 months... please just upload a new build video already
Is it just me, or is there an audio editing mistake? The dialog starts with a "but" at 0:17.
It's the beginning of the 2nd or 3rd paragraph from an article on a terminal in the Boston Bugle building. It does sound odd, but read in it's entirety, it fits better.
@@christopherconard2831 Oh haha, yeah I thought I could have been wrong lol
It sounded familiar so I went back and looked it up. I fought my way in to the Bugle Building (because looking it up on Google would just be too convenient) and re-read the terminal there.
On the upside, an new legendary ghoulslayer flamer courtesy of a supermutant who happened to be walking by.
@@christopherconard2831 nice!
Missing dialouge at the stsrt?
There are no kajeet in megaton....
Atom = Todd Howard?
About 76. And im not going to hate on it or protect it, but do you guys think it is going to be canon?
King Dedede yup most likely , but it doesn't seem significant to the overall story of fallout ( nothing super important happens in it that could affect future games , so it probably would just be referenced here and there )
@@lynackhilou4865 Darnit. Im just happy that they didn't mess up too much lore. I don't think anyone wants another franchise with lore as complicated as Elder Scrolls's.
Did this video start mid sentence or is youtube fucking up
Please make fallout 3 builds
What's a fudgemuppet?
Since fallout 3 I’ve hated the children of atom, I’m a real world setting they would be more harm than not because they actively want nuclear destruction. I blow them up in far harbor every time lol.
Do you miss the storyteller fudgemuppet?
I always blow up megaton

Totally refreshing to see some awesome fallout lore considering the bad rep it’s getting here lately !!!!
Love the lore content, it's what makes your character builds so much fun to watch. 76 was dogshit but ES:VI should be great....or we riot and seize control of Bethesda game studios
These guys were a lot nicer in megaton
