- Hello Lads! This video may be somewhat uh, scuffed, to say the least but I was pretty much mentally drained by time I had finished a lot of the editing due to some normal life issues so I just kinda winged it on the commentary. Ignoring that though, I hope you guys enjoy and I fully recommend modding this stuff into fallout 4, a lot of the new vegas content and weapons work really well with fallout 4 and I think its really cool to add some of that western fallout stuff into the eastern fallouts. As always though thank you guys for the support, this video was delayed slightly but I should be able to get another one out by this weekend, thats the plan so far.

An NCR Ranger would probably work with the Railroad. The Rangers were originally an abolitionist group and there's a lot of similarities with the Railroad.
I don’t necessarily disagree but the minutemen are probably the closest we have in fo4 to a true “citizen military” that matches the ncr so that’s why I went with them.
Fun Fact: Kellogg is/was a citizen of NCR. Can you guess what made him leave and come to the East Coast?

The Ranger Sequoia fires a caliber of .45-70 Government. This caliber is so huge it would damage your wrist firing it with one hand. The damage this weapon does with the mod is absolutely accurate to real life. This thing will pierce body armor and still stamp a massive hole into your opponent. It would take a massive junk of your entire head off. People really underestimate this caliber. It was actually underpowered in new vegas
Oh I’m not saying it’s entirely out of place, but compared to everything in fo4 the damage is definitely unbalanced. Even a Gauss rifle base does less than the sequoia, but I’m not complaining. Was a fun weapon to use. Also, yeah, definitely agree firing it with one hand is silly.
@@dierebos I am not sure what this caliber can penetrate but body armor level 2 should be no problem. You probably need ceramic plating to stop this.
Yeah but that is a general game balance issue. Let's take power armor for example. It was designed to withstand Chinese chimera tank shells. But small arms fire can damage you? I usually play those games with combat overhaul mods.
The Ranger Sequoia is also based off the Magnum Research BFR. I have one chambered in .44 but they are available in 45-70

If you get fallout commander, and a pack that changes the minutemen into the NCR, you can make it seem like the NCR made its way throughout the entirety of the U.S. (with an exception for Canada maybe) and near,y lost Boston.
Interesting, I might add this to my permadeath series I’m working on. Sounds neat.

My headcanon is that the NCR Minutemen mod was that they were hunting former legionaries and then the Quincy Massacre happened and they got stuck in the commonwealth

He could’ve also downloaded an anti material mod from nexus or Creation Club since we already know they use it as well
Yeah I wasn’t gonna pay for the CC one and I do have an AMR mod but it’s kinda…op? Think the base damage is like 350 or something so I just chose not to go get it.

To be fair the sequoia shoots a pretty damn big bullet 45-75 govt is something often seen in lever guns and breach loaders
Well there was also the riot gear in the commonwealth bank (the only lore appropriate set(this is a joke btw, i do love the ranger armor)). Not exactly NCR armor but it didnt require any quest progress and wasnt to far off.

@@dierebos btw i saw a disguised as a ncr vs disguised as a legion and its known the ranger armor looks cool but it disguises you and the legion fan or as i call them fanboys pulls a map theres more ncr areas then legion but they forgot theres other factions hostile to ncr

@@dierebos I have the mod and I'm in the location but nothing appears to me, there is only one wall there is not the room with the safe where the armor appears or do you know how I look for it with some command I'm new.
@@SrHoowl ohhh I got you bro. So for that one, you need to progress the main story quest by rescuing nick valentine. Once you rescue him, you and nick go to that house together, and there’s a little button under the table that will spawn, that allows you to open up that wall. It only spawns once you have gotten to that point in the main quest.

@@SrHoowl at least that’s how it works with the mod I use. There’s a ton of mods that add Ncr ranger armor, I’m not sure if you are using the same one as me. If you want you can join my discord and I can try to go over your mods with you to see if it’s the correct one.

So, I don't get it. If you used console commands to add ammo and things, what's the point of asking if you can beat it as something?
Instead why don't you think of your approach a little differently than "I can only use these"? You don't have to start the game as the same character you end as. Start as an the old solder you are that learns of and wants to become an NCR ranger and achieve that by the end of the game? OR treat yourself AS an NCR ranger that finds himself dropped there, with nothing, and has to scratch his way back (kind of like the brotherhood does)? Or just act like an NCR Ranger would act. Would an NCR ranger be like "I can ONLY use this gun" or "I can't go into battle without my hat"? Obviously not. So, why not approach your playthrough making the decisions an NCR ranger would instead of worrying about your specific equipment as much.
I will say this is the first video of yours I've seen, so maybe you do things differently at other times. I was just REALLY surprised when you said you just "opened the console" since that seems to defeat the whole point.
I only use console on runs where the ammo is insanely scarce and me sitting in a chair for 3 hours waiting just to continue the run isn’t really something I can do with my schedule. Otherwise the run is completely normal. I’ve only had to do this on I think 3 runs total out of like, 50 videos, just because the vendor will only stock like 7 bullets for some stupid reason.
@@dierebosIt was just a suggestion. Sometimes shit happens, the quest breaks, why not lean into that? What would a ranger do then? Just thinking more of the roleplay approach. If ammo is scarce what would the ranger choose to do then? But it's all about how you want to approach it.
In the end, it's your playthrough and your video. Do what you feel will be best.
