- Have you ever asked yourself, what would happen if i never left Sanctuary on Survival Mode? Well probably not, but i set out to answer that question
Can you not only survive without leaving Fallout 4's Tutorial Area, but can you also Thrive? And turn this desolate town, into a place of entertainment

I like the idea that shaun is watching you with his spy birds and realizing your still sitting in sanctuary for the last few months and some how have started an entire town without actually leaving.
I do like this idea haha. Wondering how long it’d be before I set out to find him, and just never bothering
I did a survival run like this, but I had the cannibalism perk. Lure people to your settlement, when they sleep, sandman them, then they go into the “not human meat” shed, then you have all the non radioactive food you need!
I did think about doing this but luckily grew enough food before I had to tuck into my settlers haha

The only problem with that is you catch a lot of diseases from eating random people and no other kind of food will satiate your hunger. You are just limited to cannibalism. But it can work if you are willing to put up with the diseases.

It wasn't the souls of your victims lifting the barbells, it was the souls of the random settlers who mysteriously disappeared, you didn't have any victims they just left wink wink

I've seen others play on survival never leaving Sanctuary. They did quite a bit the same thing you did, but it certainly takes a lot of pre-planning and I appreciate that you didn't become a cannibal! This was a lot of fun to watch and the Battle Royale to wrap things up was really funny! New sub! Thank you!
I did consider the cannibal route but had more than enough food, medicine was the main concern! And welcome to the channel :)

maybe yours, despite me being a fan since the begining, I have heard nothing about fallout london. If they can make all these mods, why can't they make a mod that lets the game play on slightly older computers? I finally upgraded laptops, after buying fallout 4 for discount. It wouldn't run so I got this new computer. It's still old but MUCH better than the old one. Now Fallout still won't launch. At least on the old computer it would play but just go frame by frame.
I just hate how bethsedas games don't work on every computer until the hardware has been out of date for 10 years. But theres a milllion skins for random stuff that have no actual impact on game play. #zeropriorities.

@ValePlaysGames most of my playthroughs consist of finding a nice settlement, and building it up as a main while doing minimal exploration for the sake of scrap
I hope we see more, ik itll be repetitive but i do wonder how much you can do with the concept
It was fun to do, will see what else I can achieve in other areas as well
You can actually get every single perk eventually, and level up indefinitely… depending on the quality of your device & your patience, and whether you’ve got the dlcs..
Love the inclusion of Fallout! I wonder if other games will have really fun videos like this and Skyrim's one day
I do have plans to look into other games as well! The new fable and potentially hitman are on the list, anything open world with challenge potential :)

....I was today years old when I learned water fountains were a thing in FO4.
They got added in with one of the DLCs I believe, can’t remember which one

a couple of years ago when the game first came out (before the CC at like the end of the last DLC) he had a never leave sanctuary challenge (ok he could leave but only as far as the first car after crossing the bridge, but that was just to reset the plants)
You can also build stairways up to level 3 in Sanctuary and put platforms with turrets. Then you can remove the stairs if you wish. The platforms remain in the air. You gain experience if your turrets kill an enemy while you are in a settlement. Enemies will not go up the stairs. In Sanctuary, I first gather all supplies and scrap (trees, structures, junk, and then I build an elevated sleeping, exercise, and shops area near the center of the settlement with turrets on the roof (as soon as I have the parts). I put the food harvest and water supply, then the Beacon. Venturing out only to get things not available in the immediate area. Remember to turn of the settlement beacon if you have no more room. You need at least 12 settlers for a good start. Then I go get my first group of settlers from Preston's sad group of misfits.

The key to it is finding crystal in the cellar. Then you can build a recruitment beacon
That’s what I ended up doing, perfect way to get a good amount of settlers to keep me going
@@ValePlaysGames I think it's the only way to get settlers. Imagine how lucky, and how much save scumming you'd have to do if you never took the hotplate from the vault!!! 😰

But if he tried this challenge without the junk from Vault 101 imagine how lucky you would have to be to find crystal AND circuitry in the bunker! Personally I couldn't even be bothered constantly saving and reloading just to try and find something with crystal in it.
Try playing a water world area for survival, Basically cant leave the water except for ships, boats and barges or, structures directly above the water (Like some wooden docks). Might need to add the conquest mod, but I have done some nice builds out over the water before using it.
I like this idea! I’ll have to do some testing and see if it’s possible to survive
@@ValePlaysGames There are several barges with supplies, especially on the river. Also if you use the conquest or workshop anywhere mod there is a nice flat barge just south of Spectical Island.

Razorgrain is my favorite crop to plant because you can make Noodle Cups which feed you without giving any rads. The only potentially limited ingredient are empty bottles for collecting dirty water but this isn't a real problem unless you've looted the entire game world. Any general store will have them in stock for the purposes of this challenge.
That is a very handy recipe, wish I’d known about that one while I was doing this

1:40 if he was a Shawn and not a “Shaun” I would have saved that little Bionicle.
I allow myself exactly one run to Red Rocket, primarily, to get Dogmeat and some molerat meat. Once I gather all I can, I return to Sanctuary and leave in again only when I have maxed out all my perks... thus far only 2 characters have managed that due to my playing Hardcore (self imposed save delete upon death)... Cages are a PAIN to deal with early on...
Cages are very buggy and the cost is ridiculous on some of them
@@ValePlaysGames Yeah, plus you can open a cage, expecting a SINGLE mole rat like the five times before, only to find a legendary mole rat mother and her nine legendary children, who are around level 25, compared to your level 10 with pipe weapons and 10 shots with the shotgun...

I think people can own single shot straight pull rifles in england if they're enrolled in a gun club. I think I heard that anyways. So maybe if you looted an entire town you could find like 4 rifles?
I know farmers can have shotguns as well, so maybe you’d get a couple

Not sure what your doing yet as I’m saying this before it’s relevant and I’ve seen it, cooking/crafting you can quickly move to the item below the one you can craft and with food it doesn’t take resources so technically any meat is infinite unless you accidentally craft the proper meal
I didn’t know this! Did want to keep it to normal gameplay though so didn’t research exploits
I'm trying the same challenge, slightly different rules. I kept all my vault loot and anything on my way to Sanctuary. The yellow crates outside the vault can sometimes have junk with crystal. I had victims coming on the first day.
I preferred to call my settlers “volunteers”, they didn’t know they were volunteering as a sacrifice but it’s how I sleep at night

Couldn‘t you assign Codsworth to farming or scavaging pr was that only possible after Concorde? Could have saved you the savescam
I don’t think it’s possible, he was locked in a speech loop until Preston is in sanctuary
@@ValePlaysGames I tried it out and it didn't work. you could give the command to assign him to crops or the scrap station, but the assignment wouldn't be accepted. Not totally sure if it is because you haven't fetched Preston and Co or if Codsworth does have limits for job anyways. I know you can assign him to shops or guard posts, but I wasn't sure if he can tend to crops. Long story short, unfortunately he isn't any help for your challenge.

Trash can Carla never appears if you don’t leave, I tested it a few times! You’ve got to get Preston back to sanctuary, or find her in the wasteland to activate her. Waiting was my first idea haha

That could have been interesting, i didn’t really look into the security bits. Could have maybe got some extra settlers that way
use the ocntaption workshop dlc and the expansion mod. you can use a butcher station to butcher the humans into meat
I didn’t know that existed haha. Tried to keep it a vanilla challenge, but may explore some modded variants down the line

Just build a gunner farm you will have regular supply of caps, gears, weapons, and meat.
Been there, done that, and I wasn’t even trying to do a challenge. Can confirm, it can be done, but you basically have to be a psychotic serial killer.
I had to do this also to gather the caps haha, glad I’m not the only one who went down that dark path

I just plugged a controller into the pc, easier to spam build buttons on controller haha. Saved my fingers from extra pain

I tested this one, and trashcan Carla doesn’t appear until you meet her or get Preston back to sanctuary. Very weird mechanic, I thought she’d appear

I did test if it was possible and this was the only way I could find. There wasn’t another way I could get caps without removing settlers

Ive just watched MATN’s video and it was great, not sure how I’ve never seen it before. I considered the cannibal run but had enough food to last. Same idea for the caps though haha
I did a slightly similar challenge, how much can you thrive in survival if you don't enter other areas (so not triggering the map point), it's been interesting to find out what you can acquire without entering another area
You totally could've built a sanitizing arch and cure your radiation poisoning for free

No you either have to meet her or she’s triggered by completing the sanctuary quest, only found that out through research

The settler system is a bit of a pain, eventually appear if you get happiness up

A bizarre rule from the time of muskets... ahhh... Your murder rate has never gone below the point when you implemented gun control. Which correlates to the findings of the most extensive firearms violence study ever conducted, one which was touted as the thing that would prove how crazy that particular human right is, but instead found that they are used in self defense at a much, much, much higher rate than homicide.
And by the way, automatic weapons existed in the 1770s. The Belton flintlock had the same standard ammunition capacity as an AR15 and was capable of firing four balls per second. James Madison, the man who wrote the 2nd amendment, wrote a very favorable review of it.
But hey, that was a long time ago, self agency, being a citizen as opposed to a subject, that stuff is just old hat I guess.
