  • This is how to fix damaged cabinet door hinges step by step. This is a very common problem with an easy soloution. These hinges are commonly found all around the world on kitchen and bathroom cabinets, cupboards, vanity and pantry. As many of these cabinets are pre made or flat pack, they are generally not very strong. Follow my simple steps to fix and repair your damaged hinges and make them stronger then new.
    Ways and materials:
    introduction #0 - 00:00
way number #1 - 00:15 (Use of Epoxy glue)
way number #2 - 00:47 (Use of superglue - my favorite!)
way number #3 - 01:17 (Use of Woodworking glue)
way number #4 - 01:46 (Use of Hard epoxy)
Getting lost between types of vintage?
Take an explanation of the three most popular axes:
Full Overlay Concealed Hinges - This style of hinge is used by most kitchen manufacturers as it completely hides/conceals the cabinet that the doors are attached to. It will have a straight arm when you look at it and it allows the cupboard door edge to be completely in line with the edge of the cabinet. It is fully adjustable using 3 little screws which will finely adjust all of the angles and allow the door frame to be totally concealed and fit together snuggly.
Half Overlay Concealed Hinges - Very similar to the full overlay hinge, but it allows for a door to be mounted either side of a central carcass panel. In comparison to the straight arm of the full overlay hinge, the half overlay will have a bend in the arm which allows the cupboard door edge to cover half the side panel, leaving the other half exposed. This specific type of hinge is often used in bedroom wardrobes as well as in kitchens.
Inset Concealed Hinges - This style of hinge is visually very different to the first 2 as it will have a large crank in the arm and this allows the cupboard door to be inset, or set inside, the cabinet frame showing the outer edge of the cupboard fully. You normally find these hinges on traditional solid wood furniture as they nicely expose the wooden frame around the cupboard door. You also find these hinge used with glass doors like kitchen display cabinets.

This is a fix which is great. I often explain to my wife not to overload the cupboards and leave items sticking out. Then they push the cupboards to close. This pushing out the cupboards resulting in damaged hinges

Hi, can I use this method on the frame? The hinge broke off the inside of the case and not on the door itself. Also, what’s the sand or powder like product that you mix with the glue?

Hello- great video. However, do you know of a way to drill new hinge holes (the larger ones) where I need to adjust an appliance door to fit on a new appliance with different spacing? Can I use one of the above methods to fill the current hinge hole and then drill a new one through the epoxy mixture?

    Well Dude,
Now that's something that I never even thought of doing!
Do you have any idea just how many cheap products made out of fiber board
I've thrown away because of little things like that happening to them?
Very Good Idea! You have saved just about half of the IKEA furniture in my home!!!
The only problem was, That I couldn't tell what one of the products that you used was?
It kind of looked like super glue in tube form (0:47)?
Might I suggest a thought For future references?
Maybe You might want to try and add some 'SIMPLE BASIC SUBTITLES' in other languages,
Describing some of the products that you are using? It may help to clear up any confusion
    your viewers might have.
I myself speak three languages fluently; Spanish, English and Sign Language (YES it is a language also!) I am pretty sure that I'm not the only subscriber to your channel that can speak multiple languages. It may be an aid to help ease the process of explaining your content to other potential subscribers who might be showing interest in your channel, but can only
    speak and understand one language.
But anyway, As usual GREAT JOB AND VIDEO !!! (I always enjoy watching your creativity flourish and the music you use in all the videos is still KICK ASS GOOD!!!)
In this moment of Chaos and Uncertainty stay safe my friend!

The best idea for this problem - quit using crap wood like waferboard, particleboard, fiberboard for high stress high use components like cabinet doors, or any furniture. If you use these junk fake wood products, you get what you deserve.
