I am so crushed that the contest is going to be missing Alina’s song this year. Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors was at the top of my scoreboard and there’s a shot that Ukraine would’ve been my number one song for the third year in a row. They are easily my favorite country at the ESC.

Great reaction guys. I'm glad you reacted to this song no matter what, cause it was a really amazing performance, heartfelt and i feel sorry for Alina regardless of everything that happened, she deserved to go to ESC.

It would definitely be my favorite to win. Such a strong and powerful performance . I don’t know what more can we expect from a song and performance.

I'm soo happy that you have reacted to this amazing song, I was completelly devastated when I found out that she won't be allowed to go to Eurovision - she would have been my winner so far and among my favourite Eurovision songs of all time 😢😢💔💔

This video trully shows that huge gap of culture understanding between americans and europeans. You didn't get it whatsoever. Most likely this song should have won the whole thing.
Alina Pash is such a talented artist and does not need to perform it in Turin for me to know that she and this song is this year’s winner. ❤️🇺🇦

😀 It feels like they don't understand English text. There was enough said to get the important idea about connection of today's reality with heritage, ancestry, and history, not to mention the most important message, which was universal, and not about Ukraine only: " Remember your ancestors but write your own history!" Dumbest comment about animal chase.😀

Hey pack of my fav Americans! 🙋🏼♂️ just before You react to the polish national selection, need to let You know couple of things:
1) guy that won was very unwell that day, as I've read some comments across the YT - sort of throat illness or just illness in general 🤷🏼♂️ so please, bear that in mind, it'll make so many things easier to understand 🙏🏻 don't give him any credit tho while graduating his performance
2) about the staging: many reactors actually quite liked it, altho poles absolutely hated it 😅 personally, I kinda liked it and totally understand it - Christian prob didn't want to show off all of his cards at once, just so we think there's some room for improvement - clever move 👍🏻

I loved the song but totally agree with Maia, the spoken part in English is what I would remove.
I like the lyrics there. They really help establish the theme. But then it kind of fell flat in the actual performance.

I get this as a performance piece but I would never casually listen to this outside of that. So not really a fan and I dislike the spoken bit. Overall it’s fine. That’s it.
This shot to second place in the betting for reasons beyond me but I do feel bad for her. I feel we’ve been here before and I cannot fathom why the broadcaster does not vet everyone fully beforehand, particularly considering their history with picking entries. This situation should never have been able to happen. But it is what it is.
We’ll see what happens next.
I'm with you. If they did a revamp and had an amazing stage performance, I could see myself listening to this on repeat after the fact, but only because I would have the memory of a singular great performance to back it up.
As for the broken record that is Ukraine's selection process.... We'll see if they meet the deadline this time
