Remember the Chet Holmgren that I showcased about a month ago? After receiving a PSA 7 I was pretty surprised/confused. I cracked it open and we made a video that day about it and here is the follow up. Stay to the end.

Seems to me that PSA has employees that just slap numbers on cards just to get through the day.

Great question, glad you’re having fun. Use new polish applicators each new session. I don’t want you to scratch a card and they could get a little crusty. I replace my microfiber once it starts to get a little used and dirty too. I get all the accessories on Amazon. I’ll drop you a link.

If you crack a few cards, just save the name plates/grade plates, and send them to PSA with a note asking to have them taken out of population.
Left to right is off thought it would be a 9 after resub... psa is becoming a joke imo
I was always under the impression that if it was a numbered card, that there was no point in sending the same numbered card back since they would know. Is this not the case? I have a few numbered cards that were given grades that were disappointing to say the least and would love to crack them and just clean them up and send them off again. Hoping PSA wouldn't become wise to it.
I’ve resent numbered cards more times than I could probably count. I’ve never had any pushback. If you don’t agree with the grade, I think it’s your right to crack it and try again and get a second opinion.

@@iamrickrock I totally get it…. But to prove the point was worth the extra $30 bucks. I don’t want collectors getting 7’s on their cards and thinking that it’s always 100% true. If you look at the card and say “there’s no way” I want people to have the conference to crack it open and resubmit it.

Yep. At the end of the day, it's just a couple of minimum wage workers looking at the card for about 45 seconds.
the centering L/R is terrible. how that got a 10 from PSA and that i see a lot of VERY off-centered 10’s from PSA is why i don’t collect. A 10 should be perfect, or extremely close to perfect, not perfect-ish.
PSA is a bunch of crooks. If people weren’t addicted to cards they could see it clear as day.
Hopefully by sending those old labels in it gets graders fired

I remember those, I think you would be fine. I assume they would clean up really well. I remember they have a nice surface front back.
I've seen alot of people saying they track the number on them, I guess they didn't here.
Are you submitting these all under the same account?
I wonder if they would ever connect it to the business and know you find ways to recondition the cards they don't figure out even if they claim they can.

Yes, no issue getting a regrade. I knew this was not a 7 so I would’ve been very frustrated if I had any pushback on a regrade.

I don’t offer that, I couldn’t keep up. I manufacture the products and make all these demonstrations to teach other collectors how to do it. I appreciate you asking.

I buy them beautiful 7s all day long.
I seriously think that’s a great idea at this point. Because if it looks centered on the front and back and it’s a 7, I would take the chance.
I think some of them give low shotty grades to fuel the resubmission stream. It’s obvious that folks get 10’s all day when it should have been a 9 for being off centered, because they send so much business to them.
This is why I prefer BGS. Subs atleast give you a idea where to look
This is one reason I will no longer be using PSA, the amount of times people simply resubmit a card and get a drastically different grade. The next reason is price, PSA is far more expensive and charge more if your card is valuable and their shipping is expensive. The last reason is they are SLOWWWWWWW i have had an order in at PSA since the beginning of November and they just got graded now, probably be another 3 months til they ship them back to me.
You could go to many other places if you just want them graded cheaper and faster but unfortunately they seem to hold most of the market. A 10 in most other firms Vs a PSA 10 would be lower valued. The value definitely isn't coming from their quality control or grading expertise it's coming from the name.
I've never sent to them as I'm in the UK. Too expensive now they upped the collector member as well, you can go middle man but not worth it. If you get a 10 or whatever with a good card that someone actually wants the slab it's in isn't going to matter anyway.
Honestly send to SGC Please Submit Again is very inconsistent horribly off. If you were one of there auction house buddies you get a 10. PSA I don’t trust them anymore.
I definitely like SGC but I had to send this one back to PSA because I knew I was right.
Psa can't be trusted anymore ,im very happy with SGC especially with vintage ,they get it correct the first time
