- Learn how to successfully remove gum stains
I found a box of 89 hockey cards, and I had to open them up. I found some great cards right away, but I noticed that they had severe gum stains. A 15 minute soak took care of it. This is the full demonstration. I hope this helps you when you run into this issue.

I have a 1981Joe Montana rookie card with excellent corners and Centering but has a gum stain. I’ve been waiting for this video. Have all the products to give it a try but it’s nerve wracking for sure
Why don’t you get a different card with gum stains on the back first. Don’t be nervous practice first 👍🏼
Gum stain is underrated. There are fewer Sakic rookies with gum stain. Imo they worth more
Working on a 1972 Topps Traded Steve Carlton with gum on the front. Pulled up your page and this was the first video that popped up. A slow process but making some headway. Love your product and your videos.
Thank you Ken. Good luck with the stains. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Amazing work Kurt!
Thanks a lot!
This brought my Bob Tewksbury rc back from the dead.

That was awesome! Will it get the gum stain out of 1950 ‘s Bowman cards? Have you experienced that or tested that out yet? I enjoy watching your channel
I’ve had pretty good success with 50s card stains, but they were never so defined as this, so it could be gum, but if it is, you’ll be good
Off the topic of this video, but im excited i got my kit in today. Is there mineral spirits in the wax? Seems like that would be rough on paint?? Just Has that smell i dunno.
Awesome, I’m excited for you to work on your stuff. I don’t put any perfume in the polish. It does have a little bit of a raw scent. I do use some petroleum distillates in the base. Every time I do something with card polish that’s the same stuff I use and make so your cards are gonna be all good.
That 'spot' on back may have been part of the pulp slurry - filters at paper mill let one sieve by.
Hi, I have a question that’s unrelated to this video but does your polish work on “Shining” Pokémon cards from the 2002 Neo Destiny set? They have a more embossed/textured look to the holo versus the normal smooth Star holo.
Great question, definitely test on a few base with the same finish. I also have a link here with more do’s and don’ts

good with stains. But what about actual thick residue? Do you have any more videos for this subject?
I'm not sure. like thick gum residue or something different?
I have 2 Bo Jackson rookie cards. One has gum stains and the other one has a stain on the front. They were fresh out of boxes I bought from BBCE. So pack fresh. Your techniques give me hope that they can be salvaged. Do you accept cards from viewers to work on?
I hope you can make an improvement, I was really happy with this. I don’t take on the cards personally, I make the products and as many demonstrations as I can or unique little stuff like this.
same.. opened a box.. only one Bo rookie and it had the gum on it.. the front was all mangled from the gum soaking through so no hope lol
@@ferriswheeler08 that was the only reason I bought the damn box.
@@ferriswheeler08 as soon as this gum starts to melt down like this it gets pretty intense.
@@kurtscardcare ya.. I was more annoyed that out of opening the entire box, the only card I was looking for was in the last pack with the gum on it haha
Hey Kurt, this is not about this video but how do you get those glass things that humidifies them?
I think you’re asking about the plexiglass discs I use on the pads. If so, I have them linked here.

Gonna try it on my GPK
You can just use the card polish. Don’t soak it you’ll probably mess it up.
Could you use the product on the 1968 baseball card game cards?
I’m sure you could, I would just practice on a base card first. If you’re on Instagram Instagram, you can always send me a picture
I used it on a couple of ‘68 game cards with no issues just a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t do a full soak, just a semi soak on one and spot treatment on a couple others
@@jwiedle86 perfect, thanks for letting us know. I love having a group of guys that work on a variety of stuff so we can all share feedback. It’s hard to do it all alone. 🤘🏼
would you still submit to psa for grading following this method?
If you want the card graded for sure
What are you soaking it in??
It’s card spray
Does your card polish remove scratches?
It will remove light scratches. Anything deep it won't.
Dan answered the question perfectly. Most scratches are permanent but you can get lucky with lighter stuff.
Did you eat the gum too?
I tried a small piece. It was terrible. 😄
I need to order some of your card spray isn’t it just distilled water or no😊
No.
Don’t use plain water. If you soak a card, it will get moldy. You don’t have to buy my stuff, but just be careful.
@@kurtscardcare I already bought your tool for corners, and learn a lot already from you!!!! i’m still learning I have some really nice old Ted Williams cards and other vintage cards that I need to soak so I need to write ingredients. Can you please assist or I can just buy your card spray
Any idea if this works on wax stains (on the back of a card) the same as gum stains. Your card wax works well in removing wax from the front of a card but not the back. Thanks.
