I unsubscribed you Blockhead for your purchase of the FXDR and I plan to do the same here. That is the most hideous bike Harley has ever produced. How does it feel to own the millennial hipster Harley Davidson? Lol

Wayne Starnes - For every one person that posts “I unsubscribed to you bc ____,” statistically I’ve gained a few thousand more. How’s it make you feel that your number that you put so much value in means nothing and my channel is better off without people like you? 😉

@@Waniac That is just a childish, immature comment. Not everyone is the same or has the same tastes. The cool thing about people and their motorcycles is that they are all different. Individuality is what makes motorcycling. There are a lot of people out there who would like to ride but can't for multiple reasons so those who do are a rare breed. Your negative comment is what turns people off from riding whereas you might want to be positive to encourage people to ride no matter what they want to own and ride.

Love Blockhead's bike. Wish he would show me what he's doing with his fender delete.
Can't wait to see what newb does with this one as well.
P.S. Now you know a third person with this bike newb. I traded my breakout on it. I have done Stage 2 with exhaust, intake and cam (went with the S&S 465c & TBR pipes) and swapped out the clip-ons for some street slammers which really relaxed the riding position. It's fast as lightning, handles like a dream and is comfortable to ride. Absolutely love it.

Thanks for the update, shame you had to give the sportglide back, but as you say, there is a shortage of sportglides
in this country..... same last year, i ordered mine and had to wait 8 weeks for a new one. I think it is more popular
over here than in the US.

Looking forward to see what you can do with the FXDR. I have been looking at it since Harley first announced it. I agree with everything you have said about it. Harley should have made a CVO FXDR with a 117, cruise control and a few extra cosmetics. I own a CVO Pro Street Breakout and if Harley had made the FXDR a CVO I would have pulled the trigger on buying one.

Exhaust same angle going up next to the tail end of the bike. Extend rear foot pegs. Air filter angled down instead of facing towards the front forks. Tuned so engine has a nice high crisp tone when revved. Handle bars don't change this bike is not cruise bloody enough of them Harley got something different and back to their race track roots. Paint metallic black with harley orange flakes and silver flakes or metallic harley orange with black silver flakes. Harley orange brake lines same for the engine case bolts. Hidden indicators bandit licence plate mirrors removed reattache when mot time. Maybe nitrous oxide kit just for the hell of it. 😎💀. 👍Great video once again 👍

I think the FXDR is a cool bike but the asking price is at least 30% to high imo wich probably is why they aren't selling any. I do like the clip ons and even the out there air filter. Do hate the turnsignals and the hideous exhaust though. It also should have had some proper radial Brembo Brakes for the money and premium 3 way adjustable suspension front and rear.

An interesting mod for the FXDR would be trying to make her more classic again, perhaps a rear fender and seat replace, like a few folks have done for the Fat Bob. Give the FXDR bum a nip and tuck and try a swap to a Breakout rear.

Please consider doing something like Todd's cycles strip bars. The reason why I am suggesting these it's because it's a kind of the opposite of what everyone else is doing to their fxdr.
I thought I wanted to turn my Street Bob into a club style bike. Then I got the lucky Dave's lucky 13. I hate them. It's an expensive leason to learn. I'm a apes man.

The FXDR is an awesome platform which HD decided to dress in the foulest way... it's a bit like Jennifer Aniston dressing in Primark cast-offs.
I initially wondered if it was just me and waited for it to become popular with others... but it didn't. HD screwed up what could have been a good thing and you may well be able to put this right, so I'm really interested in how this goes, give Jen some decent stuff to wear please. Good luck and very good channel.

Bloody hell, we agree on aesthetics! I must adjust my meds!
Yes that bloody air filter has to go. So too does that godawful exhaust, Screaming Eagle? More like a strangled crow! Exhaust wise I'd copy Blockhead's Bassani (if you haven't burned your bridges there) two into one system. Then of course adjust the FP3 tune.
Next is where we'll disagree (I expect). I'd scrap all I said above (or most of it) and go for a full on stage 3, take it out to 117 with the improved bottom end a stage 3 gives while still changing the air filter and exhaust. Plus a stage 3 outperforms even a stock 117 let alone a 114.
Then change the bars, although I don't think ape's would work on a FXDR, but hell who knows. After that who knows? For my taste too much plastic and not enough metal but I don't see any reasonably priced ways of fixing that (hence my lack of interest in the FXDR).

Excited to see how you'll spec the bike! If you need any inspiration, check out my channel or instagram. I tend to agree with you on the clipons, but haven't put a handlebar yet. Want to experience the ergonomics like this first. Have done 6k kms so far and where everyone says it's not a bike for long distances, I drove it to Czech Republic and Austria in April for a week and couldn't be happier. Of course - for bringing luggage, there's more suitable vehicles, but my dealer made a rack that I can mount for the occasion. For the rest, stage4, including SE titanium like yours and extreme flow air cleaner, blinkers front, in the back the fender, all lights and sidemount, some pegs, grips and mirrors and off you go :) Maybe some custom paint to make it pop on pictures. It's generally a bike that looks way better IRL.

How do people in Europe typically react to nice Harley’s? I love them but I grew up with them. Having served in the Navy and traveled Europe (Not UK or Germany) I never saw such a large and loud bike as our Harley Davidson. Even seeing a Ford F-150 or equal Dodge/Chevy was like, “woah”! 😂

      Everyone is different.
Personally speaking, seeing some dude ride around Piccadilly Circus in central London on an Iron 883 was one of several 'signs' over the span of a number of years which gave me the impetus to get my bike licence.
HD bikes do not suit me for practical and aesthetic reasons, and I don't anticipate ever owning one. I don't see what the fuss is about HD, but to each their own.
Still, always nice to see enthusiastic bikers!

    • @twinwheels4717

There is a large following for Harley in the UK and Europe but motorcycle culture here is totally different, I personally love the look and sound of them bu,t and this is not about power or outright speed, the reason sports/naked/adventure bikes are by the far the most popular bikes here is handling or rather limited lean angle. In my opinion most Harleys are just not suited to European roads which in the most popular riding areas are tight narrow and twisty. Sure you can ride them on a Harley and cruise along which is what Harleys are for but I think the mindset here is more about getting a bike cranked over and sports riding/touring. I'm in no way hating on Harleys they're the best bike for what they are intended for but our Geography/infrastructure isn't compatible with the type of riding they are best suited for. I'd also say generally the demographic of harley owners is a lot older than for other bikes. I would say that most people bikers, or not, love the look and sound of a Harley, though a lot of motorcyclists won't admit it ;)

John Kemp cool thanks guys! I know a guy here in my town from Romania and he’s been riding since he was about nine years old. He now has a Yamaha Vmax, KTM super duke 1290 and a Ducati model of a “street fighter” or naked bike so yeah...even his cruiser is a Yamaha and it’s a power beast but not Harley. I’m thinking of getting a Honda VTX 1800 for my first. They’re cheap and powerful. I’ve ridden a little before so I’ll ease into it. I just know I’m going to commute highways and I want a bike with plenty of headroom for them. I’ve driven a little piece of shit truck when I was a kid on the highway and it was winding out at 65mph. I told myself I’d never put myself in that position again.
