    Interesting video, and I get the need to develop EV's, but a big part of the Harley riding experience is missing. The iconic sound and feel of a vtwin!!! I do wonder what market this is aimed at? Anyone know any younger riders with a £29k budget????

    I am not a Harley Davidson fan never liked motorcycles. This bike changes my opinion about motorcycles. This is one awesome machine. I never liked the loud, smelly, vibrating bikes not for me but this thing looks like so much fun without the noise and pollution. I will own one some day.

  • @thomasmotorcycleman1175

    I have 16 bikes..most harley and buells...have had a zero for 3 years...very good...I got a livewire 3 months ago ...it makes my zero feel a little cheap...actually I guess it was 14k less....but I dig the livewire..feels super powerful..handles well for the weight....ride true for yourself.

    We are only looking at this due to brand loyalty. When I bought my 2019 Fatboy I didnt once consider the Zero electric bikes already out in the market . Good luck to HD - I hope it’s a winner for them.. but realistically.. not for me or my generation ... we like noise and choppers...

      My dad is the same way with his Harley Davidson Dyno Wide Glide. I never understood why there is some people who like noisy vehicles. No noise, No vibration, No exhaust is for me. The only thing that bothers me about this bike is the range I cant ride it to Miami Florida from Dallas Texas but these things will get better and I am ready for it.

  • @robpullen
    @robpullen Před 4 lety

    These are the first electric motorbikes I’ve really looked into. H D have been quite clever with these. First of all they are of course electric which is the way it’s all going and to be one of the first big brands to do it and the way they’ve chosen to style it is quite a clever way to market. The problem is the price. I don’t know how much the other big brands will charge for their bikes but it’ll probably be lower although I’m not sure on this. It’s interesting how they’ve ignored the cruiser styling and opted for a more street bike style to try to attract younger riders I think. Pretty clever IMO.

    Early on in this ride, I noticed what appeared to be a hearse (casket limo) going in the opposite direction. If there's a person riding horizontally in the back, they were likely born in the mid-1930's when common internal combustion engines were only about 35 years along. Going by in the opposite direction from that person ... is another person on an advanced-tech electric vehicle with its spinning front wheel pointed firmly into the future. Makes me wonder about the techs we witness throughout our lifetimes. Since post-modern technology is speeding up ... what might be just over the horizon?

    30 seconds to fill the tank with $15 of fuel with a 150 mile range and a 11.3sec Quarter mile time.
    Engine needs rebuild about the same time as your car will.

    You commenters have no clue. It doesn’t cost $30k. I bought mine for $25 OTD with little negotiation. 3.99% for 60 months and ZERO DOWN with a score of 723. Free lifetime charging at all Harley dealers and 2 years at any other charging station. Don’t forget, you have $4700 in state and federal rebates which makes this bike around $20k OTD. Not counting FUEL SAVINGS!! Full charge in less than 1 hour enough time to stretch your legs and get something to eat/drink/chit chat. It cost me $2 for a full charge and it’s even less at home charging. And is this bike worth even $20k??? ABSOLUTELY!!!

  •  Před 4 lety +1

    The only thing I'm not keen about electric bikes is the price and the second hand market. Batteries will die off and lose range and in 5 years from now the range will probably be half of what it is from new, which begs the question; How much will it cost to replace the batteries down the line?
    That's the mammoth in the room no one wants to address.

    I love the sound and smell of combustion engines. But what really gives me a rush is performance. And I know this bike performs. It has better brakes, better power, and way better lean angle than any other harley. But at $30k I can guarantee I won’t be buying one new. I drive a $45k car. But I have a kid and a mortgage. there’s no way I can justify a $30k motorcycle. I’ll have to stick with my 2019 Harley 48 for a while yet.

    Hang on one cotton picking freaking minute! According to Harley's own US website the Livewire in vivid black in the US costs $29,799. Yet this one here in the UK costs £28,995? At tme of writing this one US dollar got you 77p, that should be £23,092. Now, I don't for one micro second think the Livewire is worth the US price but it sure as HELL isn't worth the extra in the UK!

    Personally I like it but I don't think it's a right move to the environment! The carbon footprint to produce a all eletrick Nissan leaf is at the moment 10.5 tons of CO2 a carbon footprint to produce a fiat Panda petron is 1.5 tons of CO2 so when the fiat is producing less then 100 grams of CO2 per mile so one have to drive for a very long time to catch up with the eletrick car before it even start driving. Plus sadly all the charging is not coming from clen energy source (wind or solar or nuclear) so U still polluting the environment!! Plus any longer ride is taking forever because of the long time of charging.
    Now that is out of the way I like the this bike for looks and instant power but I will still keep my dead dinosaur burning Moto Guzzi! Keep up the good work and them videos coming!
