Once I'd experienced a coal oven pizza, everything changed. It was Grimaldi's, back in 2000, followed by a walk back to Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge. One fantastic evening that I still think about often!
I had Grimaldi’s on my last visit to the US and now every pizza in my country is not something I can call pizza anymore 😅

If you’re in south Brooklyn, I would recommend Italia Pizza in Bensonhurst, Kings Highway and West 6th. Real New York style pizza I’ve been enjoying for 30+ years. Many of the pizza places in the city and northern Brooklyn are good, but they try for the “authentic” Italian style, super thin crust, loaded sauces, artisanal toppings, etc. tasty, but the true New York flavor is not there, for my taste.

Me too.That can’t be no.1 it’s nothing special.I don’t know all these place but Even Joe’s is way better.The best one I had was Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn (near the Brooklyn bridge) that should’ve been on this list.
I visited Joe's and Bleecker Street Pizza on the same day back in April of 2022. Both were good, but the Nona Maria at Bleecker Street was the runaway winner for me. Every single ingredient was remarkably fresh and tasty on what was a pie fresh out of the oven.
